Okay! I'm caught up with everything so far, and I have a really clear idea on how to get Reiko in, I think? Slightly less clear for Zopa but I'm very sure that something will come up quickly as well. I sort of want to leave the ideas a surprise though!
Tell me if it's okay to just go for it with them as well/if they've been accepted!!

In other news, the earthbender girls are adorable together and I ship them.

I'm going to leave quite what Zopa's doing a little vague so I can sort of jump in when I spot a good cue, and the vibe I'm going for with Reiko is her keeping being from the fire nation and a soldier sort of quiet for a while? Quite possibly splitting off and being seen again as a soldier a few times and slowly coming around to joining the group properly? I definitely don't mean her to be harming the party at all!

And yes, they're adorable. Can't resist having Reiko comment on it even just as a narrator. I do want to see that reaction when Asami figures that out!

All the characters look really fun and fun to interact with, and like? I worried for a second from some of the narration that Reiko would be too similar to Suyin but I'm really not worried about that now? Like, they have some similar stuff but how they reacted to it is really different and I think them bouncing off each other would be really fun!
Also, Gani is a mood, and that's just a fact.

But seriously, all of the characters look really fun, and I've only seen through a couple of pages so far, and that's really promising, because sometimes it takes a little bit of time to warm up to a few, you know?

Thank you! ^^ I personally think Reiko and Suyin have a good number of differences, but just enough similarities that they could potentially bond over it. It's the perfect balance in my opinion. I agree with you, and I'm looking forward to their future interactions!

Hopefully Suyin can prevent things from getting too out-of-hand! She sees Chihiro as her kinda hotheaded big brother, but with a heart of gold hidden under that temper.

Exactly! There are a few similar things and then a load of differences, but enough similar I definitely see them getting on and all? Also, in my head, I want things clear of who Reiko's going to do her "my dad was awful and actually I can't bend and I'm a girl, so there" to first and Suyin definitely seems like a good option for that, to me?
Just that "oh why does everything have to be so regimented, why I can't we experience things from every gender's perspective" is. Such a mood? Like, I'm cis, but I physically feel that?

And, yes, definitely, same! I normally won't mention it, but I'm also normally looking for ships that work when characters are interacting?

Awww, Suyin would be totally understanding of that! She's a little awkward when it comes to social interactions, though, so she might not be the most eloquent at expressing her feelings. Honestly she'd just give Reiko a big hug.
Also, I agree wholeheartedly! I imagine I'd be so frustrated living in the Northern Water Tribe for that reason. I feel like out of the four kingdoms, the Fire Nation is the best for gender equality - do you get that feeling?

Omg me too. Sometimes characters just click in their interactions and I'm like, "Yes! This is great!"
Have you ever had an experience of the opposite? You thought two characters would be good together before they met, but in their actual interactions they weren't that compatible?

Honestly, it's partly the awkwardness that makes me think that would work XD
I kinda meant Reiko to be a bit of an analogue to being trans (I think it's important to also do representation in such a way as to bring in peeps who don't like the minority and get them to understand) and my intent is very much for her to be from a ridiculously conservative little sub-culture? For the most part I definitely see Fire but then Air closest behind for gender equality? I know Air is meant to be the most equal but gender segregating like that is... Probably not going to help be equal. At least I checked through the wiki for a quick refresh on exact setting details and it said the temples were gender segregated...
But yes, Azula being able to step up to heirdom super easily is far more than can be said even for most modern countries?

Actually really recently?
D&D game. The DM had a PC that my character went to help save from a bad situation. Their character thanked my character for saving her life by trying to stab them (alongside literally the purest NPC I've ever seen) and accusing them of being a döppelganger (type of monster in d&d that copies people and steals their places). There are a couple other things there that'd take way too long explaining, but I think it can be summed up with "my character does not like being thanked for dealing with the nonsense you pulled by you trying to stab a very obviously innocent woman and accusing them of being a monster". I was expecting them to get on...
The campaign fell apart a week ago, at which me and another player revealed our characters had both been considering "removing" this NPC. Yeah. I'd been expecting them to get on...
