Loki's 5th Birthday was yesterday. Tell him to stop getting older, please. I want my tiny spitfire puppy back.
He's getting along great with his training when I decide to throw something new his way.His heel is slowly coming along,
haven't build up for distractions indoors yet. Kasper and Piper are doing good, Pip had another two teeth pulled at her dental due to
a broken tooth. She's also been switched to wet canned food because her stomach can't tolerate dry food anymore.

Over the summer I'll probably be working with my poodle breeder in his UKC shows if I can. Hoping to get a pup from him once SO and I are situated and can handle a 2nd dog since Piper and Kasper are staying with my mother. Still hoping for a border in the future but we agreed on the poodle first. So poodle puppy photos will be in the near future once he has one that clicks when the time is right as for temperament and drive.

my new puppy (lab) bites and nips at me as hard as she can. its not aggression of course, just excitement. ive done all the tricks i know like yelping loudly as if she hurt me really bad; having her favorite toy close by to chew on instead; or just simply getting up and walking away. im not saying these arent working, but i'd appreciate any other tips. her teeth are sharp ;o

You’ve had her what, a week? that behavior doesn’t stop for a while. It’s not a day training, they’re done, thing with young puppies. It sounds like you have a plan. Stick to it. Constant training and reinforcement is really the primary answer. And time. Not everything is going to be quick.

Unfortunately their teeth are very sharp, I certainly don’t miss puppy teeth.

I'll link you to some videos on puppy biting, maybe there's a tip or trick in there that could help you out...

Stop puppy biting with handling games - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dMKR5i9iNQ&t=1s
Stop your puppy biting and mouthing - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c77--cCHPyU&t=2s
Surviving Puppy Biting - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wbLzz1QlDw&t=1s
Learn Puppy Bite Inhibition - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=068K5Zlph9U&t=3s
Chew Toy Training - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mabu1Y6iOj4

Puppies go through teething just as human infants do. It's painful and biting helps relieve the pain. I would make sure you have a variety of toys and chewies for your puppy. Just having multiples of the same kind of toy or chew may not be enough. Also you can train those toys/chews to be more appealing. Using a little peanut butter, or plain yogurt on them can help draw your puppy's interest. I would also try keeping them in the freezer as chewing on a cold toy/chew may help with any teething pain your puppy is experiencing.

If your puppy is doing a lot of chewing/biting it can also be a sign she's not getting enough exercise. The old adage of "A tired dog is a good dog" applies here. Increasing physical exercise (walks, playing with her with toys, etc.) and mental exercise (training/brain games, and feeding either through training or puzzle toys and ditching the food bowl, etc.) may help you manage this behavior as well.

As has been stated by others though a lot of this is going to be consistency on your part and time on hers. Good luck, and hang in there!

ive never heard of this! i just put one of her kongs in the freezer and later we'll see how it works out. i know puppies need to chew on stuff to help ease the pain, so ill try anything to help lead her away from our wooden chairs lol. ill check the videos out as well

she's definitely getting plenty of exercise! we take her on walks out back in our part of the woods throughout the day (not enough to over exhaust her, so dont worry.) theres a lot of forest to explore so we go to a different trail every day! and even though the weather has been a lot nicer, the water is still too cold to let her swim in. we'll have to wait a couple more months before we let her play in the creek/brook. we also have a lot of playtime inside too! and thank you again to the people who messaged me their tips, i appreciate all of it!

Oh, didn't think to mention since I didn't realize she was chewing furniture too. You might try some bitter apple spray to help deter her. Also have you tried an antler chew. That might be closer to the wood like feeling she seems to be going for.
