OakClan
Sunflare smiled at her. "I'm glad you did," he purred, pressing his face against her. "I used to think I wanted to be deputy, but now I think I'm content just being a warrior. Deputies and leaders have a lot of responsibility and I don't think I'd do well under the pressure. Although I have to say, I still think 'Sunstar' has a nice ring to it." He chuckled a little, only to break off as Robinwind entered. "Oh, hey, Robinwind," he greeted the medicine cat, letting out a purr when Creamflower announced that they were mates. "Thank you!" he meowed, dipping his head gratefully to the medicine cat. He listened quietly as the two discussed helping Beestar kit, deciding not to offer his own help to Robinwind. He would be around if his help was needed, but he knew neither Robinwind nor Beestar would probably want a warrior tom around when the leader kitted. Still, he wanted to be helpful if the time ever came for his own mate to have kits.
Riverstripe gave a grateful look to the she-cat just before Weaselstripe popped in. "Change of plans," he explained to his former apprentice. "Dappleleaf is going to the gathering instead of me." He knew everyone was confused, but he didn't care. He was simply glad to be staying at camp. Plus, both Weaselstripe and Dappleleaf looked pleased to be going with each other, so it all worked out. With a sigh, he padded back out of the den. The sun was quickly falling and the air was growing colder as dusk crept in. Feeling his stomach rumble, he padded to the fresh-kill pile and picked out a plump rabbit. Casting a glance towards the leader's den, he thought about asking Beestar if she wanted to share, but hesitated when he saw the leader stumbling into her den, and felt a worm of nervousness in his stomach that made him momentarily forget about his hunger. He shook it away. Of course she's stumbling, she's expecting for StarClan's sake, he told himself. She probably won't want to eat anyway. She's been at camp all day, so she's had a chance to eat whenever she felt like. And I'm sure she's tired now...
Tigerblaze shot Jackdawpaw a silencing glare but said nothing. When Weaselstripe returned with Dappleleaf instead of Riverstripe he cocked an eyebrow, confused, but simply blinked in understanding when the tom explained the switch. He wasn't sure why any cat would do such a thing, but he knew better than to try and figure out Riverstripe. With a wave of his tail, he followed Blizzardclaw out of camp, a mere tail-length behind him. Since Blizzardclaw was standing in the leader's place, Tigerblaze felt it only appropriate for some cat to stand in the deputy's place.
Splashpaw gave Jackdawpaw a hard shove when he brought up the mangled cat once again, a little too enthusiastically. "I told you, it wasn't EagleClan who did that," she snapped at him suddenly, her usual light tone now serious and annoyed. What they had seen was something tragic and disturbing, and she wished Jackdawpaw would stop talking about it as if it were cool--and villainizing EagleClan with no proof. "Stop talking about it already. You're filling her head with nonsense and you'll either scare her or make her think terrible things that aren't even true." Not waiting for a response, she bounded ahead of the apprentices to walk alongside her mentor, her mood seemingly ruined.
EagleClan
Nightwish nodded. "That's fine. I'll see you later!" She waved to the medicine cat with her tail. She was a bit disappointed that she hadn't been chosen to go to the gathering, but she had gone to the last one so it was only fair to give some other cats a turn. Perking her ears at the sound of a she-cat's voice, she turned to see Daydream's sister, Goldenrose. "Oh, hey, Goldenrose," she greeted the she-cat. "What's up?"
Once the meeting had been dismissed, Southstar leaped down from his rock, only to almost immediately be approached by Daydream. He saw the medicine cat whisper something to his former mentor and cocked his head curiously, padding closer to the two toms. He was about to ask what they were discussing when Russetswirl turned to him and asked him if he'd received any visions. Surprised, he shook his head. "No, I haven't." He listened intently to Daydream's description of his vision, and felt his pelt prickle nervously. He forced the fur along his spine to lie flat and remained silent for a moment as he processed what he'd heard. "No, it doesn't sound good," he murmured after a moment. "It wouldn't hurt to try and get more information out of them," he agreed with Russetswirl. "But not tonight. Whatever is going to happen, there's nothing we can do about it tonight. However, if you get a chance to talk to Robinwind tonight, I would ask him if he's seen anything. We need to know if this prophecy concerns just EagleClan or both the Clans."
Littleflower gave Swiftbadger a playful push. "Are you sure you aren't expecting kits?" she joked, nudging him to his paws. "Come on, you know exercise is good for queens!"
Darkpaw's expression was unreadable as he heard his name being called. He didn't particularly like gatherings, but he was glad to be getting out of camp again for a little while. He twitched an ear when Mistflower padded over and shot him a confused look, and simply glared right back at her. What was her problem? Shaking out his pelt, he rose to his paws and stalked away from the apprentice and her mentor.
