The cheery chirping of Fletching's and Taillow's was Bonni's first hint that it was morning. The next was a small furry white paw in her face; Higgs was gently pawing her nose. "Ok, ok, I'm up!" she replied, smiling. Higgs bounced happily away and started running in circles excitedly. After a refreshing stretch, she went to check on the Charmeleon. He seemed far less nervous, which would make their trip to the Pokecentre easier. "Alright, now who wants breakfast?" A resounding chorus of happy hungry Pokemon answered her.

After making some campfire eggs and bacon (with a generous serving for the Charmeleon), Bonni packed up her gear and the team headed back toward the Pokecentre. Lots of tiny bird Pokemon were out and about, likely due to the rain last night. The morning was nice and sunny though, and would make a great day for an ocean visit. Her team seemed slightly disappointed they weren't heading there straight away, but they understood that helping Charmeleon had to come first. Star Saber, the trainers newly dubbed Zamazenta, was the most understanding and offered the shiny Pokemon, who was still wrapped in a blanket, a ride on it's back as they walked.

As they approached the town, Bonni stayed next to the Legendary, placing a hand on it's back near the Charmeleon. "It's ok." she reassured the fire lizard. "The people in this town are friendly. We'll head straight to Nurse Joy, you'll like her." From her front pocket, a loud "Piiii-chu!" seemed to agree. Higgs marched ahead of them like he was on guard.

determined to help out your new
friend, charmeleon.

it seemed very grateful, though
it was getting worse with the
passing minutes.

lucky enough, the group seemed to
arrive on time, and immediately
charmeleon was seen by nurse joy.

it took a bit, but she returned the
pokemon once taking care of it,
and it was now asleep in her arms.

"you got it here just in time, let
it rest for a bit, it's exhausted from
the lack of energy. have a safe travel"
she smiled.

They all agree, River hopping up onto Zorro's back and Sensei jumping onto Sugar's back. Smiling, I pat each of my teammates on the head before all four of us head towards the beach

I look at the swamp area before soon making the quick decision to head to the flower fields, knowing that Rocky would be able to level up decently there instead of in the swamps, where he would have a type disadvantage

With Electric Terrain up, Luxray seems to be a lot more energetic since he just so slightly has the upper hand! Tepig keeps a determined look on his face and bravely charges forward with another ember, this time firing it at a closer range. It hits!
Luxray looks impressed and shakes the soot from the ember out of his fur, before using charge. Charge raises Luxray's special defence by one stage.

Tepig looks at you for advice, interested in what you have to say for battles.

"I guess I haven't explained how I battle yet."

aaaLuxray stamps his paw on the ground and my eyes widen as a surge of electricity flows, coating the ground. Tepig yelps and hops before realizing he can't avoid the sparks. Even my shoes seem a bit more static-y than usual.
aaaI recognize the move as Electric Terrain and Luxray's tail swishes easily, unconcerned. Tepig seems nervous that he's practically walking on lightning, but he bravely charges forward with another wave of Embers. The fireballs catch Luxray and he shakes the soot from his fur. With an impressed look on his face, he backs up and glowing sparks roll over his fur. It's almost as if he was testing Tepig's firepower. He shines like a beacon - Charge - and Tepig dares a glance at me.
aaaIf this wasn't practice, I would scold him for not paying attention to the battlefield, but I guess I haven't explained how I battled, either. Usually, I'll allow a pokemon to fight as they please, then throw in suggestions if I have any. This way, trainers don't know what I'm planning and I won't bother my pokemon if they already have better ideas. I relay this information to Tepig, then since he asked for it, I tell him, "Don't get hit. You can get up close if you want to, but Luxray is stronger. Tire him out with Ember or confuse him with Tackle. If you get tired, stay back and try a Tail Whip, too."

Spark informs Tepig of his free battling style, then suggests relying on agility and speed rather than power!

Tepig brightens up a little, inspired by your advice! Tepig stands his ground, before firing a circle of embers around Luxray. Luxray has been caught into a something similar to the move fire spin! Luxray is trapped. The large pokemon shifts his paws around before sending bolts of lightning crashing down!

Tepig jumps and dodges in and out of the lightning, impressing Luxray yet again. Tepig's quite fast, before charging in to get a tackle headfirst on Luxray- the electric type pokemon stumbles back in surprise but stands his ground. Electric terrain seems to be wearing off... both pokemon need a bit of a rest before they continue battling, so they stand there, rather exhausted from all the running.
