hey, welcome!
Also, for those of you who work with dogs, do you have any tips to share on getting dogs to stop biting? A small yorkie I know is just a vicious lil angel, but it's becoming a problem for his owners, and they may be getting rid of him soon. I offered to take him if they are getting rid of him, as I would love a dog of my own.

Well there are a lot of reasons why a dog might bite. Are they human aggressive? resource guarding? What brings on the biting, etc? If its any type of aggression I am always against giving tips about that online without actually meeting the dog in person and watching its behavior. I would suggest a local dog trainer.
But we really cant give you any solid answers without knowing more information about the dog, its history and its triggers.

@Stonefly - the dog, from what I've heard, is over protective of his territory. To be specific, anything in "his" area he is aggressive over. Food, toys, stuff like that. I heard that my friend went to move his food or something like that (he wasn't eating it, if I recall correctly) and he just snapped at her hand. Thankfully he's a small yorkie, so not that much harm done, but he did draw blood.
It is natural for a dog to be protective of his food, but there's a point where it's just straight unhealthy (I guess that's the appropriate word).
I guess in short, yes, resource guarding. There have been a few other cases as well, but it all involved him snapping at either another dog or human because they were too near his "items".
I'm good at training dogs tricks, and I can do other stuff like getting them to walk on loose leashes, etc, but I've never done anything for a dog like making it stop barking or stuff like that Yorkie.

That sounds like resource guarding. I would heavily suggest as said above searching out for a professional trainer who is knowledgeable about working with aggressive dogs. RG can be a rather dangerous thing.
And no, no dog should be protective of their food. There so be no reason for a dog to adopt the mindset that food and their things should be protected. If I get a dog with this behaviour its one of the first things to go because Im not getting bit over food.
You will have a hard time finding a proper or professional trainer who is willing to help with these kind of issues over the internet without seeing the dog and its actions.
