every year in the spring, a small village in the area around his home hosts a festival to celebrate the blooming of the first cherry blossom of the season. fae dragons are allured by the bright, soft petals of the blossoms, and have taken to making this festival a gathering of their own; and because of the large amount of dragons coming to admire the orchards, it attracts more and more humans every year. he has attended every year, and wouldn't miss it for the world.
this was his first year traveling with a human. he had been nagging him for months to not miss the event, but, well, you know how humans can be. they had been traveling by carriage from a bigger city out into the country, but because of the unusually snowy winter, it had slowed their pace by quite a bit. he tried everything, from shouting at his new traveling partner to sweet-talking the horse, but nothing seemed to work.
the day before the festival he was especially irritated, his commands seemed to be constant, and it was really draining his energy. they were making good progress, but the idea of not seeing the gathering of dragons in the early morning, and missing out on all of the pretty lights and sounds (and free food) was really quite depressing. his human promised him that he would travel through the night to assure their arrival on time, and he had no choice but to believe him.
well, they did make it to the festival on time, but it turns out that overexerting yourself could cause someone to... sleep-in a bit. he couldn't believe it...
his human had assured him that they would still be able to enjoy the festival to it's fullest, as most of the events took place in the afternoon, but that still meant he missed the opening ceremony, and the biggest portions of the fae gathering... still. he had to admire and appreciate what his companion had done for him. as sloppy, and sluggish as humans were, they could sure be kind... something was telling him that maybe, spending a year with someone else, and trying to enjoy the festival in a new way wouldn't be that bad.
