I want to breed mazie to improve the breed further. Yes, there are always risks with everything but no risk, no reward. I am home all day everyday and will have lOTS of time for each puppies needs. My veterinarian is a close family friend and is there when/if I need her.
She will turn 1 year on March 12th. I am getting her tested for everything when she is 2 years and will only proceed to breed her if she is completely healthy and fit.
No, she does not have a champion title. I am doing agility with her however.
I would definitely say that she is the perfect example of the breed, she is always ready to do something and is also content to sleep close to me while I'm watching a movie.
Thank you for the concerns, though i've done much research. I'll take a look at the links! c:

Definitely OFA test for what the breed recommends. Because getting a regular vet check isn't being "health tested."

Do you have pictures of her? Preferably in a stack? It's easy to think that one has a perfect example of the breed, but without pictures, you can't really expect us to know that. And obviously people are going to have different opinions, but sharing pictures will aid in evaluation.
Where does your dog come from? Is she from a champion or working bloodlines or otherwise? Who is her breeder? Did you get her from a breeder?
edit: also, here's the breed club, if you haven't seen it. assuming you are from the US. https://www.australianshepherds.org/

Yes, she is from a breeder, who's dogs were all tested.
Yes, I do have lots of pictures but have no idea how to post them... lol!
No, i can take a step back and see that she has flaws like any other dog. I'll get an "evaluation" from a professional, not people playing chicken smoothie. And i don't need you to "expect" anything. Sorry if i come off as rude, thats not my intention at all.
She is from working bloodlines. Yes I've saw the breed club and the OFA list. Thank you for the links and questions though c:
If anyone has breeding tips, i'd love to hear them! Also, thank you to the 2 people that PMed me!!

Definitely look for a stud that has certain personality traits and working habits that you like. (like if the stud is a champ at agility or champ in the ring or whatever you want, even actually working up to you.) This way you can have a pretty good idea on how the puppies will be when you have them and as they grow up. That way you can really sell them to people and be confident in the puppy that you are selling them.

I'm not a professional by any means but that doesn't mean I don't know what I'm doing or talking about, as someone who owns a showing prospect myself and has spent countless hours doing research and studying different breeds. I'm not just asking for photos for the sake of asking for photos. I also don't "expect" anything from your dog? I was just asking for a stacked photo to see the dog's conformation, which helps people get an idea of what we're looking at. It's obviously not the same as looking at the dog perform work or run in the ring, but it does give a better idea. Which is all that we can go off of, is ideas.
I would highly recommend getting into contact with professionals on the Australian shepherd breed club, not people here, if that's your outlook. They will also have professional opinions, tips, and information (etc) on breeding dogs, much more than the average CS player would have.
Lake Michigan Aussies looks promising, they have some nice looking dogs. If you're serious about breeding your dog, I would contact them and get as much information out of them as possible.

Genuinely imo the best thing you can do going into breeding is getting a mentor. Find a local breeder of your breed through shows or sports (if that's what you're looking at breeding for) and see if they'd be willing to take you under their wing a bit. Express your interest in the breed and your interest in breeding; ask them for pointers in what makes a good dog in your breed, so on and so forth.
Show line vs working line will def be different, so if your dog is meant to be working line, try to find a mentor through the agility shows you're doing. Assuming you're planning to title her, as you should with any dog you plan on breeding. (Unless, of course, the discipline they're into isn't titleable - looking at hunting dogs for example.) If you're not breeding with all of the health testing + titling then it's backyard breeding, no matter your intention.
Also, there might just be "professionals" on ChickenSmoothie. I wouldn't be so quick to bite the hand you asked for advice. You asked for opinions and are getting them. I haven't seen anyone be rude to you, it would be prudent to be mindful in your tone with others. ^^;
You can post images by uploading them from your device to a website like imgur.com & setting the image link here. Or I believe CS's boards have an 'upload attachment' function right at the bottom, even easier.

Thanks. I will definitely contact Lake Michigan Aussies once I have done all of Mazie's tests so that I'm not wasting their time. I've got a lot of great info, links, tips and such from you guys! I'll definitely look for a mentor type person to help me out, thanks for the suggestion!
Again, sorry if I sounded rude stingray. (which apparently i did).
If anyone thinks of anymore useful info or good links and such, please let me know!
