"Wow! That's a perfect crouch," Sunflare purred at the apprentice, his eyes glinting with amusement. His ears pricked at the sound of Blizzardclaw's voice behind him and he turned to see the deputy. "Oh, hey, Blizzardclaw," he called back. "What's up?"
Riverstripe nodded. "Yeah, that sounds good." He looked at Fallenstone in surprise when she expressed her wish, albeit under her breath, to see the EagleClan cats cross over. "Why would you hope that?" he asked her. "We don't want a fight." He knew the she-cat was still young and perhaps her eagerness to fight was left over from her apprenticeship, but still. It made him appreciate his own former apprentice's maturity.

From there on, it wasn't long before Twolegplace came into view, obscured by the line of trees, but still recognizable. The twoleg-scent was noticeable but faint. "Stay alert," Southstar told his Clanmates. "We're almost there." Even though they were protected by the shelter of the forest, one could never be too careful around Twolegs. As he walked along, he detected mixed cat-scents amidst those of twolegs; he picked out OakClan's scent, guessing there was a patrol out, along with another faint scent that was strangely familiar, but that he didn't quite recognize.
Nightwish felt a shiver run down her spine at Daydream's words, more so because she knew they were not his own. "What do you think it is?" she asked nervously.
