Puma
2.9 Years
Doberman Pinscher
Pack of Northtower
Lambda
Alone
Puma laid still, stretched on his side, with his head craned backwards as if stretching his neck to howl at an invisible moon. His flank slowly rose and fell with each easy breath he took, but he was otherwise motionless on the cold, hard concrete beneath him. Normally, he appreciated even the slightest of barriers between himself and the unforgivingly hard surface, but last night, he had been unlucky at finding anything that was not already in use. Perhaps he could have shared, if he were close enough to anyone for them to allow that, but alas, there was no such bond to be had for him, except maybe in his dreams.
After awhile, he stirred, opening his eyes and lifting his head just an inch or so, allowing for a solid glance around camp to check on the rest of the Pack of Northtower's status. Most of the other dogs were still fast asleep, but he did catch a glimpse of an early riser's hindquarters as he slipped quietly away from everyone else. Puma made no move to follow the Beauceron, but he did roll from his side to his belly, parting his jaws in a wide yawn while his teeth flashed briefly in the morning sunlight. He was in no great hurry to rush into the day's chores when he was so early to wakefulness, so he took his time in letting the grogginess of sleep melt away to be replaced by the sharp clarity brought by crisp, morning breezes.

Roze snored softly as she slept, even as the golden sunrise slowly intensified, shining through the leaves of the trees above and dappling her fawn-colored coat. She was nestled halfway underneath an overgrown bush with her hindquarters hidden from view. One could guess she had begun her night completely obscured beneath her leafy shelter, and had perhaps shifted in her sleep to a significant-enough degree as to end up in her current position. It was a testament to how truly safe she felt within the Pack of Blueblood that she could sleep so unapologetically deeply. Yet, every sleep must eventually end if one wants to live another day, and Roze most certainly did. She sleepily blinked her eyes open, straightening her whiskers with a few swipes of her tongue, before wriggling out from under her bush. The soft dirt beneath her muffled her movements, keeping the noise of her shifting to a minimum.
She stood, quietly stretching the stiffness from her muscles and joints. Today would surely be another long day, and Roze wanted to be ready for it.

A little, black ball of unkempt fur rested in a nest of fallen leaves. He was tightly curled, with his paws tucked underneath him. Rala's posture was the picture of neatness, contrasting with his wiry coat that stuck out in every which way even as leaves clung to it. The terrier mix was fast asleep, completely unbothered by the rising sun, chirping birds, or stirring packmates that slept all around him. As he hunted with everything he had, it seemed Rala also slept with all he had. In fact, were it not for the subtle rise and fall of his sides, one might wonder if he had passed away during the night. Yet, that was far from the case, for Rala was still as full of life as ever. As soon as his eyes opened, he would be ready to put forth his best effort and do his part to support the Pack of Blueblood.

Tiny amber eyes blinked once, twice, and again, heavy with sleep. Everything was calm and warm and nice, safe with the presence of the large figure flanking her, protecting her from the world. Sunlight crept into their house, flooding the living room, but she blinked once more, laying her head back down. The world could wait another day, with it's mountains and crevasses and rivers and streams, lands explored and not, and she'd dream of it all, one day big enough to leave home and never return. But she had forever to dream of the world, forever to explore the marked and unmarked paths of the world, the crossed and uncrossed bridges. The world was vast, neverending, magnificent.
But her mother had never told her that the truth was harsh.
────
"Damnit," The fae's golden eyes strained against the light stalking the trees, breaking through the clefts in the roof of her den and dancing across her wistful muzzle. She turned back over, though she could hear the footsteps of her packmates already risen. Her maw gaped in a yawn, sitting pensively for a moment. Van would swear she hated the pack, not because she had any hatred towards anyone in particular but because at the first notion of sunrise they'd wake, insisting that they had to do their chores and such immediately, and in turn waking others up. But she admired that they had faith to the pack, teeth and claws were better flying at rivals than within their own ranks.
Slowly, she leaned off her haunches, taking a couple of strides out of her abode before circling and lying back down. There was a partial sense of solace in early mornings, where the fae could rest until all of her packmates awoke, letting the soreness of sleep drift off her eyelids. Every day with blueblood had been long and expansive, a constant struggle for hunting, resources, or whatever inadequacy they had, but anything beat the humans. In appearance, Van was tall, a little bit daunting, yet in reality she kept generally pacifist views, but she only fought when she wasn't the antagonizer.
Van let her mind travel for a moment, why bother sending out patrols and whatnot when the alpha wasn't even awake yet.

★. 𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐃𝐀
four years ‣ female ‣ saluki ‣ stray ‣ open, outskirts of blueblood territory
The war between the Northtower and the Blueblood never seemed to bother the lanky fae, even as she stood at risk by constantly shuffling throughout each territory, dancing her way past the lambda's and the alphas. Her aerodynamic frame coupled with slim, long legs made it easy. She was out just as quick as she had been in. Andromeda's limber, coarse-coated frame carried itself casually around the borders of the Blueblood. She often found herself lingering closer to them than the Northtower, for more reasons than could possibly be explicitly stated, but one of them was her adverse attraction to Roscoe, the Blueblood alpha. Needless to say, she felt ashamed of herself and her desires, especially since she made an unspoken rule never to tie herself down to either of the packs, having no desire to be affiliated with either.
But there was just something about the doberman that she had found fascinating. Andromeda would be eager to meet him under the right circumstances, and trespassing on his territory wasn't considered one of them. Therefore, to ─ hopefully ─ avoid being caught, the saluki moved on from the Blueblood territory, swiftly, yet calmly, as to not draw attention to herself. Andromeda would never stand a chance against a fight with one of their dogs unless she had been equally matched with a dog of similar stature. Though far from a coward, Andromeda's main move was to run and flee. At any given moment, any of these dogs could have her torn apart. And recently, with things becoming even more intense between the packs, she had to remain careful about where and when she stepped.

the bicolored doberman was up bright and early. he was really not much of a sleeper and woke at the softest of noises. he had a pack to protect; being a heavy sleeper would not be a good trait for an alpha. besides, sleeping isn't really his favorite thing to do. full of nightmares, stress dreams, and endless darkness, nothing he would like to endure for what seemed like an eternity. the park his pack settled in used to be a beautiful place, full of many house pets and humans who played until the day was erased by night. stray dogs and house dogs were not so different at this place of unity at one point. now, however, it is barely a place of hope.
he was no longer in his den, he was a bit outside of the camp. he took this opportunity to allow his packmates to sleep in. what was the sense in waking them up every morning to start on chores and patrols? everything sounded quiet, peaceful even. it was almost as if today would be easy and enjoyable. the birds were awake and chirping and the sun was baking down on his fur. he enjoyed the sun more than he did the moon, as he saw it as a symbol of energy and strength. he had already witnessed the sunrise, which was the highlight of his early mornings. closing his mocha eyes for a moment, he smelled the air. it was clean, yet there was an acrid odor not too far from the camp. most likely a dead creature, or possibly a rotting fruit. so long as it wasn't a dead pack member, he would brush it off.
a bird flew past his face and towards the pack. he took that as a signal to return to his camp where he assumed his pack would be awakening soon. he took his time returning to camp, which may have been a good or bad decision, depending on how the situation turned out. he scented another dog on the territory, not of blueblood. northtower.... he thought as he tensed up and crouched lower to the ground. he slinked in the nearest bush, covering himself with whatever nature offered him. he waited, patiently, observantly. what he saw was not a threat, but instead a curious sight. it was that saluki that he saw every so often walking around the division of the territories. she was bold to step foot on his pack's land, but she never showed aggression or ill intent, so he never confronted her. instead, he watched as she padded away.
with his territory once again free from possible threats, he continued back to camp, and when he got there, he laid himself on the nearest rock, his head resting gently on his paws. he wouldn't disturb the dogs still resting, though if some emerged from their dens soon, he would send out a patrol. he did, however, notice that roze was awake and taking in the sun as he just had. good morning roze, hope your sleep was refreshing.

dreams filled the blue merle rough collie's slumber, her belly slowly raising and falling at a steady pace. she let out a small snore every now and then, a soft one that was of no disturbance to the others. she was running through fields of wildflowers dividing the magnificent forest from a glistening pond. this was a common dream of hers, one that allowed her to escape the hardships of the life she lived. in fact, she preferred to be asleep than to be awake...
the sun was peering through a shattered window, right in her eyes of course, awaking her from that beautiful escape. of course, she was not in a breezy field of wildflowers but instead in a concrete jail cell, or so it seemed. she, of course, had found a box that she claimed as her own to sleep in last night and every night, which was better than the floor, but still not up to her standards. but those standards would never be met, not in a world like this. her cocoa eyes scanned the floor, noticing only two dogs were up right now: romeo and puma. puma of course had not moved from his spot, only laying there with his eyes open, as if he was waiting for something exciting to happen. keep dreaming puma... she thought quietly as she stood up and walked out of the tower. as she stepped outside of the doorless frame, she noticed romeo exiting the camp for the time being. wonder what big boy is up to she thought as she padded towards the fountain. a good lap of water this morning would wake her up, and eventually, she would fid herself out on the hunt for food. but usually she hunted with another pack member, simply so she didn't get bored.

The tall 'wolfdog' brute was curled up, as best as he could fit himself, in half of a well worn box. The find was pretty lucky, so when Ing brought it back to the tower, he was more than happy to share half with another packmate. Since acquiring the cardboard, he began to fill it with any soft or comfortable items he'd found while out on patrols. Soft and comfortable were rather laxed terms in this world; the best Ing had ever brought back had been some dirty scraps of fabric. His oddball 'nest' was filled with crumpled news paper pages, a piece of fabric here and there and some dried grass. With his long legs hanging out over the sides of the box, it was quite a strange sight seeing Ingmar sleeping. But, this was the best the pack territory had to offer at the moment.
Audible gargles groaned from the brute's stomach, rousing him awake. It had been a day or so since his last meal, and clearly his body was protesting the situation. With a great yawn, Ing repositioned himself, curling his paws up underneath his chest. Tired amber eyes scanned around the concrete structure. Their alpha had yet to awaken it seemed... sighing heavily, Ingmar laid his wolfy head back down, trying to find sleep once again.

The fawn and black Belgian Tervuren female slowly crawled her way out of her reasonably sized den. Since joining the Bluebloods, Margaux had dug out her hollow beneath the roots of a tall, sturdy oak tree. Margaux often stood with pride, gazing upon her choice of den. The tree's roots created the perfect roof for the hollow; they held together firm, insuring there wouldn't be any sort of cave in. The oak was perfect in her view. Just about every morning upon waking, Margaux would stare up into the canopy delighted with how the sun's rays danced between the leaves. Just as she'd done so many mornings previously, Margaux drew a great smile upon her maw while leaving her sleeping spot.
Her lithe frame lowered into a graceful stretch, accompanied by a dainty yawn. With her muscles now awake, she glanced around the clearing for others who'd awakened. There currently weren't any pups within Blueblood, so the female often found herself with little to do. But it wasn't as if Margaux could blame anyone for this. Tensions with the Northtower pack made the climate for raising pups a dangerous one. Her dark eyes landed upon the lambda Roze and their Alpha, Roscoe. With another warm smile, Margaux trotted over to the pair. She quite enjoyed Roze, the other female was someone Margaux felt comfortable around. "Good morning!" Margaux beamed with delight as she settled next to the two; though she made she to dip her head in respect towards Roscoe. "Quite a lovely morning isn't it?" She smiled widely, glancing over the others seated near her. The female tried her best to always stay positive and lend a paw when needed; so she hoped Roscoe had some duties for her today.

Puma

Doberman Pinscher
Pack of Northtower
Lambda
With Ingmar
Motion out of the corner of his eye caught his attention, perhaps mercifully, as he missed the dismissive glance cast his direction. All Puma noticed was Zasha's movement as she rose from her coveted box and padded quietly outside. Immediately, he felt drawn to follow. Reasons to do so tangled together in an unrecognizable mess. Perhaps he was orders so that he could get right to work, or perhaps he was lonely, or something else, but whatever the reason, he felt his paws draw themselves beneath him and push his body up to stand. Then, he walked forward, towards the sunlight, following Zasha's invisible pawprints.
About halfway to his destination, however, a strange noise distracted him. All it took was a mere glance to discover the culprit laying in a pitiful bed of improvised attempts at comfort and already trying to go back to sleep. Puma raised an eyebrow at Ingmar, the corner of his mouth curling upwards in subtle amusement. Then, he continued walking, leaving a wagging nub of a tail to tease the fellow lambda from behind. Whether Ing wanted to follow Puma or keep trying to sleep was up to him. Puma was open to either possibility.

With Roscoe and Margaux
A delicately-folded ear turned towards the sound of her name spoken by a familiar voice. Even before she had quite turned her head to take in the sight of the voice's owner, Roze's tail swayed back and forth in a pleased wag. Then, she took in the sight of her leader, stretched regally atop a nearby rock with his head on his paws and wishing her a good morning. Indeed, it was a good morning for several reasons. A good night's sleep, beautiful sunrise, and encouragement from her respected alpha all saw to that.
"Very much so", she confirmed, her pleasant mood lacing her words in a positive uptick. "And you as well, I hope. Have any nice dreams last night?"
Noting Roscoe's casual body language, she similarly dispensed with formalities and took a few steps closer, where she sat before the doberman. The two dogs ended up at a similar eye-level. Most of the other dogs, be they pack or stray, were larger than Roze, but she knew better than to judge a dog by their size and felt no shame over hers.
Approaching pawsteps distracted the mutt from her fledgling conversation with Roscoe and she looked away for a moment to see Margeux settling in the grass beside her, turning the duo into a trio. Whatever good mood Roze had been in was dwarfed by the tervuren's positivity. It was rather infectious, and Roze could not help but let her tail wag once more, this time with more vigor as it brushed the grass behind her a few times before slowing to a stop.
"Sunrises never get old, do they?" Roze replied with a contented smile.

The first murmurs of good-natured "good mornings" gently roused the little terrier mix from sleep. It started with a rustling as his tail beat against his nest of leaves, expressing excitement for life before his eyes had even opened, but those eyes were not far behind. He stood and shuffled forward until his stood in the dew-dampened grass. Then, Rala set to work with his ritual of stretching, yawning, and shaking leaves from his fur. Each motion was carefree in nature, as if Rala were the only dog in earth despite being surrounded by packmates. As such, he was not particularly quiet, but he did not go out of his way to be noisy either. Several of them were already awake, anyway, judging by the little circle that had formed around Roscoe. Speaking of, a morning chat sounded appealing to Rala as well, so he glanced around, searching for anyone that might be interested in him as a conversation partner. If all else failed, he could always join Roscoe, Roze, and Margaux.

the bicolored doberman raised his head from his paws as he noticed margaux emerge from the dens. she joined the two dogs awake, which now made a grand total of three dogs awake. seems the pack wasn't taking much advantage of the beautiful weather they were experiencing outside. roscoe's powerful jaws opened into a lazy yawn, then slowly shut with a lick of the lips. his head shook away the drowsiness that still remained, leaving him fully refreshed for the day to come. his reponse to roze was perhaps not what she wanted to hear, but it was all he had to offer. dreams seem to mock me now a days, as does sleep. that's why I am always up so early. the sunrise gives me a sense of peace, something sleep does not. perhaps I just need something to help me sleep, like a more tranquil world. a soft chuckle escaped his muzzle as if he had just made a joke. his eyes looked to the sky as the clouds slowly dance passed.
the now quiet air that twirled between roze and roscoe was interrupted by margaux's greeting, though he wasn't upset by her presence. he nodded his head at her words and said, it is a nice morning. almost too lovely for the dangerous world we seem to live in. his remark was rather blunt, but it was the truth. at least they hadn't seen a northtower dog in a while. they only meant for trouble, and with the recent deaths happening, he couldn't risk anything when it came to his pack.
his head lowered once again to his paws as he listened to the two faes of the pack converse, talking about the highlights of their dreams and such. he wasn't much of a loquacious spirit, especially when he had so much on his mind. he closed his eyes and took in the sun, waiting for the rest of his pack to awaken so they could begin their daily routine.
