The Kill wrote: Stripepaw glanced at his denmates, before stepping out of the den. Having heard the whispers, he knew it was only time before he was exiled. Glancing over at the entrance, he started towards it, stopping for a minute. I probably should tell someone I’m leaving he thought, turning to the leader’s den. Taking a deep breath, he called out to Kestrelstar. “I’ve heard the whispers, and most think it was me,” the apprentice meowed to the leader. “So I’m leaving, exiling myself,” Stripepaw explained. “I’ll join my dads, and learn from them,” he finished.
Kestrelstar nodded. “I’d like to give you your warrior name before you go, “ the leader meowed. “Warrior of StarClan, this apprentice has learned your code, and has proven to show wisdom by exiling himself,” the leader meowed softly. “Stripepaw from this moment on, if you rejoin ThunderClan, you’ll be known as Stripeheart, for your bravery,” Kestrelstar meowed, resting his head on the new warriors shoulders. “Go find your dads Stripeheart, and stay safe,” Kestrelstar said, watching as the warrior left.
Once the warrior left, Kestrelstar padded out to high ledge. “Cats of ThunderClan, Stripepaw has left under the name of Stripeheart,” he informed them. “He was the one with most votes, so he exiled himself, and I gave him his warrior name,” the leader explained. “Now Minnowpaw, please step forward,” Kestrelstar meowed. “Warriors of StarClan this apprentice has learned your code and is ready to become a warrior,” he meowed. “Minnowpaw do you promise to defend the clan, even at the cost of your life?” he asked the apprentice. Minnowpaw glanced up. “I do,” she meowed, ears pricked forward. “From now on you’ll be known as Minnowfur and we welcome you as a full warrior to ThunderClan,” Kestrelstar meowed.
ThunderClan you lost an Innocent New warrior, your clan is dwindling in numbers. Will you find the murder in time?
The Kill wrote: Stealthvixen sat alone outside the elders den, her expression showing disgusted confusion. She had joined this Clan believing it would make her life better, have more purpose, and for what? To see her Clanmates die right in front of her slitted blue eyes? The fox wrapped her large tail around her and heaved a sigh.
“Stealthvixen,” a quiet, respectful voice mewed from the darkness beside the elder.
Alarmed at first, Stealthvixen bushed up her tail, “What? Who’s there?”
“It’s only me,” the voice mewed, coming forward to show themselves to the fox. “I brought you some prey .. you looked lonely.”
“Oh, dear I’m sorry. Thank you,” she murmured, gratefully accepting the rabbit that the killer had laid out in front of her. “You can’t sleep either?”
The killer shook their head with a frown on their face, “No.”
“I’m so sorry dear. I know it must be so hard on you.”
The killer eyed the fox carefully, tracing each word she said. Occasionally, they would glance down at the rabbit, hoping that she would eat it in one bite as she did sometimes.
“... what with him leaving and all. I hope you aren’t as lonely as me,” Stealthvixen frowned, touching her tail to the flank of the murderer. Now the fox looked down at the rabbit and realized how hungry she was. She opened her mouth and took the prey in one bite as the killer had hoped, swallowing it without chewing much.
“Maybe Rosefeather could keep you company.”
“Wha-“ Stealthvixen began before she started convulsing, seeming to choke on something in the prey.
The killer smiled as blood began trickling from the fox’s throat until a bit of the stick was showing through her bloodied flesh, “Perhaps this was more clever ... less work, less risk ...” they pondered to themselves; the whole while, Stealthvixen bled out beside them, gaze twisted, frightened, and most of all betrayed, “N..ver... xcpeted ... y .. o . .. spp..sd... he... l..” she spluttered before her eyes glassed over.
They took a moment before glancing down at the dead fox, flicking at the small bit of sharpened stick poking through her neck, “StarClan told me to,” they mewed as normal. “but you wouldn’t understand.”
Stealthvixen the detective fox has joined StarClan. Now what, ThunderClan?
