Name: David Salvatore - Overseer of Forell.
Problem/Quest: Salvatore has led the province quietly until now. The Emperor is destroying his province, even tearing apart the sacred Forest of Memories for lumber. Numerous memorial trees have been lost already, graves of loved ones and ancestors demolished to make furniture. Salvatore and his people are rightfully infuriated, but protests have been unsuccessful. Some have even died in their attempts to protect the forest.
Apparently, the Emperor is okay with civilians being run over in the name of his greedy pursuits. The Royal Guard is here to enforce his will, and they are much stronger than the native Forell Guard which is currently losing this standoff - badly.

Other: I planned to put his information on the lore thread when it's finished, but it would probably help to have a basic form until then.

Fun fact!
Even adult Forellians often play outdoor games in their village/neighborhood. That includes Overseer Salvatore. Despite leading the province, he is also a champion at hide-and-seek during leisure time.

Sycamore needs sunlight to fuel her abilities of phoenixlike revival. Until now, her only supernatural ability was growing weird feathers over her body. She was pretty much mundane otherwise, other than an unnaturally warm body temperature and a resistance to becoming overheated.
It takes lots of sunlight exposure to make even a single revival possible. She won't be able to access this part of her power immediately, and until then, she will need to soak up sunlight like her life depends on it. Technically it does! (Well, more like her coming back to life depends on it.)
So she's naturally wired to love sunlight and seek it out. Especially when she doesn't have enough in her system.

Some background on phoenixes and magic:
Most humans' magical energy, called willpower, comes from within them and is intricately tied with their life force. The phoenixes are a particular strain of Twodorians who derive theirs from both internal causes and the sun.
The legend says they were created by Mother Solara (the sun) as protectors of this world, and her light provides them with willpower because she is their loving mother. Some devotees to tradition/religion even claimed the phoenix race was evidence that Mother Solara is real and not just a burning ball in the sky.
