Thanatos

Thanatos snorted as he made his way around the clearing, his muzzle to the ground as if he was grazing. Of course he wasn't actually grazing. He was hunting. His eyes were on a small rabbit standing at the edge of the trees, totally unaware of the danger the elk presented. He slowly walked towards his prey lipping at the grass, but not actually eating it. Thanatos was now a predatory animal. Vegetation no longer sustained him. Besides, he couldn't stand the taste. Finally he lunged, bringing his hooves down on top of the small mammal. He followed that with a swift bite to the throat, then he lifted the animal up. Trotting away from the site of the kill like he always did, Thanatos laid down under the shade of a tree and began to eat.

(I have some questions, sorry about this.

If chars do end up escaping, are we going to RP with them outside the lab, or will they escape and that'll be the last we see of them? I know it's probably a while away before that happens, but I want to know as I have an idea I want to use but depends on the latter happening...

If food provided by scientists, or do animals have to find it themselves? If they do provide it, is there a certain area or something with it inner do they just leave in in patches around the place?

Finally, I'm a bit confused about the free zone. Is it outside and if so why can't animals dig under the fence? I'm seeing it as a really big indoor room, but I just want to make sure.)

As he watched the lioness cross the stream, 027's thoughts turned once again to escaping. It had been a while since he had thought about it and it seemed his mind wasn't concentrating on the actual escape anymore. If, for some impossible reason, I could get out, would I? He thought to himself. Would I survive on my own? I wouldn't be able to hunt, not well enough to live on anyway. And, if my eyes played up for just one day I could die.... No, I don't think freedom is for me anymore. If he could remember his time before the lab, 027 might of started to think about what life would of been like if he hadn't been taken - if he had been allowed to live out his days normally. Of course he didn't though, 027 couldn't even remember what animal he was before he came! So, he started to think about other experiments lives instead. Would I he'll them escape? I don't know. It would just cause trouble for me, wouldn't it? I doubt we would be able to come out into the free zone if someone did get out, not that I would care. Still, maybe I would. Maybe I'll never have to choose, I hope not anyway. He looked at the lioness again, felling the sudden urge to follow her. Deep inside, he missed talking to the other experiments. 027 took a slow step after her, which was followed by another step.

VODKA

A large black creature lay in the bottom of a steel cage. His body was curled into a ball, but he wasnt sleeping. Two orbs, both blue and gold, watched as animals were rolled to and from the experimenting lab. His fluffy tail thumped against the cage floor as he stared, forever fixated on what was in front of him. A large fluffy mane surrounded his head, neck and shoulders. Large talons jutted out of his huge paws...

A scientist came over, holding a large syringe in his hand. "Come on you old oaf." the man said, keys jingling as he went to pen the cage door. The beast fixed his stare on the human and growled, thrashing his tail around. The man rolled his eyes and removed his keys from the lock. He turned around to grab a dart gun. That was his mistake.

The creature sprang up and clawed at his back. The man had been to close to the cage for his own good. The scientist wailed in agony and quickly moved away, watching the ebony creater as it lunged, only to be held back by the chains around his legs and the collar around his neck.

"You stupid monster!" the man screamed, grabbing the dart gun and quickly sedating the animal who had attacked him. The beast growled and paced in his cage until the medication took effect. Then, it flopped on the cage floor, asleep.

(Yes,we will roleplay them outside of the lab,in the 'territory' that surrounds Vibony Labs. It is a little ways away,we need to RP a few more days before I decide the time :3
The food is not provided in the free zone,they must find it themselves there. But when they go back to their cages,there is usually something for them to eat there as well.
The free zone is completely outside,but there is a large wall that surrounds it first,an electric fence,and large lab-made hybrids outside to guard. )

Phenomenia turned to speak to 027,when she heard the high pitched noise of the alarm,which ment it was time to go back in. Turning to the others,she nodded before heading towards the grey wall. A large door swung open,leading to the animal cages. She glared at her chain,which read her number. The lioness' violent purple eyes narrowed,now bakc to her normal cold self. Without hesitation,she took off into a sprint towards her stall. The scent of freshly killed animal filled her nostrils,and she skid to a halt when she reached the door. Phenomenia padded into the dark hallway,which led to each animals cage. She let her sense of smell lead her to her stall,which was used for her becase of her abnormal size. Licking her muzzle,she waltezed into her stall and crouched to take a bite of thhe carcass that was layed out for her,when she turned and saw one of the scientist- a newbie. She roared,and the newbie shut the door,leaving the lioness bristling.

Caz blinked. The odd colored cat slowly padded towards the doors,where her friend had disapeared into. Before she left,she turned to the others and swished her tail. "Goodbye,I hope to see you tomorrow !'With that,the cat darted into the space,heading for her cage. She passed other cages,hers being near the end. Caz entered her small cage and laid down,ashen eyes tryign to locate her food. ".....Hey. Wheres my food ?"She asked to no one inperticular. She did not know that no food ment they would be experimented on the next day.

Yew shivered softly as she tucked herself into a corner of the area, near the stream, and up against a boulder. Her beautiful gold dappled pelt was bright as sunlight in the day light, with markings as black as jet. Closing her golden eyes for a moment, the oselot wondered what had happened to her. Only a few weeks ago had she arrived, and since then, she had mostly kept to herself, stunned by the lack of memory she had of her life. All she knew was that her name was Yew, she had been taken here, and she had the smell of thyme on her breath every morning, for some reason she could not fathom. Looking around the fenced in area with wide, scared, and gaurded eyes, she let her tail tip flick back and forth, her rounded ears swiveling to and from to pick up anything another had to say. Standing up, she looked around for another animal, her golden eyes glingting coldly. "Hello?" She called, flicking her whiskers nervously, her paws kneading the ground. Hearing the scream of the alarm, she flinched gently, turning on her heal to walk defeatedly back inside, though, with her golden eyes on the ground, no one could see the hard, vengeful way they glowed as the sound clawed at her ears.

The wounded scientist traded jobs with a few others, who hauled the large dog/cat like creature they had come to call a Pittermahunda, onto a stretcher and rolled him down the the experiment hall. As they went, they passed other animals who cowered in fear, pressing up against the back wall of their cages at the sight of what they carried. The scientists walked on, turning a corner and going through a pair of double doors.

They reached and examinationg/ testing table and placed the creature ontop of it. A doctor came into the room and shooed the other scientists away as he examined the Pittermahunda. The doctor lifted the monsters chops, to peer in at his saber teeth and gums. Once he was satisfied that they were healthy, he went and grabbed a needle filled with a purple fluid and injected it into the neck of the beast on the table. The fluid wasnt something all too special, just some sterioids to encourgae the Pittermahunda to grow even larger then he was now.

The man then called the helpers back, who dragged the creature back onto the stretcher and pushed him back to his cage, where they dumped him and chained him back up.

Yew watched with half opened eyes at the strange creature being wheeled back to its cage next to hers. Glancing at it, she flicked her ear, wondering if it was alive, dead, or just not awake. Noting the heat coming off it, and the steady rise and fall of its sides, she decided one of the humans must have just sedated it. Keeping her golden eyes on the creature, she sat down, wrapping her long, graceful tail around her large paws, head bent slightly, her swan like neck arched, ears pressed against her head as humans walked by her cage, though none entered. Patiently, she waited for the creature to wake: She needed answers.

Once chained up and cage secured, the scientists wandered away to go take another animal to its cruel fate. The creature stayed sleeping for quite a while, peaceful. Eventually the sedatives wore off and the beast opened its blue glod eyes and looked around. He growled and stood up, thick legs shaky from the drugs. It wasnt enough to stop the massive Pittermahunda, who was soon back to his old self. He growled and swiveled his head in Yews direction, drooling.

"What are you staring at?!" he rumbled, words slightly slurred.
