it looks like a stick?

the frog pokemon continues to play
with it, clanking it against the rocks
in a silly tune before there's movement
in the tall grass.

this clanking seemed to attract a pokemon,
and curiously, a pokemon crept out of the
bushes to get a closer look at the
stick froakie held.

this pokemon is a dedenne, how cute!

The dirt road beneath Eva's feet seemed as if it had been winding on forever. She didn't want to sound childish by complaining, particularly when it was her idea to keep her and her pokémon moving en route to the next town, but the walking had long since gotten boring. Plus, it was starting to get a little tiring, holding Marigold in her arms so that the Eevee wouldn't aggravate her leg injury.

"How are things down there?" Eva asked Neptune, who had been hopping alongside her the whole time.

"Kie, kie," he replied absently, before scampering off the beaten path and grabbing what seemed to be a stick from the side of the path. Satisfied, Neptune took the stick in one webbed hand, and began to tap out a rhythm on the nearby stones with it.

“Eevee!” Marigold barked suddenly, squirming in Eva's grip. The Eevee could clearly see something approaching Neptune from within the bushes, as the leaves rustled and a long, thin black tail poked up from the foliage.

"Whoah, settle down," said Eva, gently placing Marigold on the ground. Neptune stopped his tapping, hearing the noise.

"Denne?" a soft voice chirped, and a tiny little electric mouse popped out of the bushes. The wild Dedenne seemed curious, scampering closer to Neptune and the stick he was holding. Its little nose twitched, the Dedenne sniffing the air with interest.

Neptune blinked at the mouse, before offering up his stick to share, assuming that the wild pokémon also wanted to play. Marigold huffed, only a little jealous of the attention.

"Dedenne!" the wild pokémon squeaked, before snatching the stick from Neptune's hands, clutching it between its teeth, and racing around the Froakie and Eevee in circles.

"Huh," Eva mused. "I wonder what it's trying to do?"

Bonni smiled as the shield-legendary allowed himself to be caught, and was relieved once he came back out of the Master Ball. She was going to offer to let it walk around with them anyway, it seemed more appropriate. She ran her hand over it's thick mane, patting it's head, then gave it a good scritch behind the ear. "Welcome to the party, Zamazenta!"

As Bonni admired her new legendary-matching bracelet, Higgs went and got acquainted with their new friend. The Scorbunny ran circles around the much larger Pokemon before jumping up on it's back and giving it the tiniest, but warmest, of hugs. Skadi was looking up at Zamazenta, wagging her tail in tandem with it. "Higgs!" Bonni laughed. "Sorry Zamazenta, I don't suppose you'd be opposed to giving Scorbunny a ride, would you?" Skadi yipped happily and ran back to her side. Bonni looked at her, smiling, before adjusting her cap. "Well, where to next guys? Why don't we go explore?"

Bonni and her team will head back on the path and go a different direction, heading vaguely towards the next town.
