Twistedthorn had been out searching for herbs when he heard the yips of the fox elder and the frantic mewls of the apprentices. He approached steadily, keeping his ears perked and his tail low- the Maine Coon didn't know if he was walking into the aftermath of a Shadowclan ambush, or if the attackers were still nearby.

His senses were overwhelmed from the bundle of herbs in his mouth, and as he dropped them to investigate he was overtaken by the scent of decay. He knew quite easily that Abstaining had been dead all night.

"Where did you find him?" He mewed coldly, keeping his eyes on the body as he spoke to the apprentices & elder. He didn't wait for a reply before continuing his sentence, "We should get him back to camp. The apprentices should help- they have to get used to this sort of thing. I don't expect you to understand."

The cat was undeniably rude to the fox elder- he was still unsure about having her as a member of the clan. He trusted his adopted father's judgement; however, he had seen the worst of injuries from fox attacks. He knew she was kind- that was evident enough from how she treated the apprentices- but Twistedthorn kept his judgement.

Stealthvixen was well aware of Twistedhorn’s opinion of her, and was too old to care. However, now was not the time to get into an argument over some extra help. She allowed the apprentices to do their part.

“He was on the Thunderpath, close to the ShadowClan border,” she explained. “He was dead when I got there. I don’t know what happened...He’s...too smart to let himself be hit by monsters, I thought...”

The tang of monster feet was so strong in her long jaws, she had to let go for a minute to take a breath. After some coughs, she resumed dragging the body to camp.

Stripepaw surely gets confused by all the fuss that his happening right now. But he definitely heard that he shouldnt look. Look to what? Grab Hollyhop and Twistedhorn? What could possible be happening that they would all act completely different than normally.
But curiosity strikes first, so Stripepaw moves around all the other cats to see Abstainings lifeless body, clearly ruined by the monsters that killed him.
He gulps shockingly as he cant stop looking at Abstainings body, unable to hear anything right now. Because of his shocked state or maybe he doesnt want to listen right now. He just stares, not even moving an inch, not even a pun is coming out of him.

Soon, the body was successfully dragged to camp.
Stealthvixen yipped and wailed in her strange vulpine accent. The reality of it was JUST fully hitting her, and clarity of speech was suddenly difficult.

“Everyone! Please help!! Abstaining....I found him on the Thunderpath by the ShadowClan border!”

xxHarrierheart was sharing a mouse with a clanmate when the border patrol burst into camp. He sprung up onto his paws, rushing over to the group. "What happened?" he demanded, taking in the horrific state of the cat the patrol had carried to camp. The russet tom's fur was dark, and he was nearly unrecognizable. Without Stealthvixen's cry, it would have taken Harrierheart much longer to realize who it was.

Kestrelfern emerged from the warrior's den, her fur ruffled in embarrassment that she had slept in after the moon-high patrol the night before. At first, she opened her mouth in slight annoyance that there was such a ruckus in the camp, but then she noticed the crowd of cats gathered by the edge of camp. A chill swept through her as wails of grief penetrated the regularly peaceful air.

"What's all the commotion about?" Kestrelfern asked, gaze resting on Stealthvixen. The fox elder seemed to be in distress, her russet fur on edge. She glanced around, and saw the body of what seemed like a Thunderclan warrior. "Oh-" A gasp escaped from the she-cat's mouth as she recognized the brown pelt of Abstaining. "Is he-" She wanted to ask whether the tom was alive, but her voice petered out desperately as she realized there was no point in asking. The air stank with the scent of death; the looks of the cats around her told her what she already knew. "Stealthvixen," she meowed, fighting to stay calm even as shock and grief stabbed at her heart. "What happened?"

“I don’t know!!” Her speech came in breathless wheezes now. “I found him on the Thunderpath by the ShadowClan border!! But I don’t know!! I found him dead already—on the!! Thunderpath!! By the ShadowClan border!! But I don’t KNOW!! But I found him dead already ontheThunderpathbytheShadowClanborder but I DON’T KNOW!!”

In her hysteria, she bared her teeth and growled a little by accident. She prayed nobody else would ask her, again, what happened.
