I didn't realize that was what chamomile looked like."

Rive took a bite or two from the rat as well. She still found herself feeling slightly uncomfortable sharing prey with Needlefang, even though they had done so before. Rive knew her place, though she had started to question it lately, and she still felt unworthy of such equality. Still, it was a behavior she was beginning to unlearn, at least around Needlefang. They were more similar than different, after all. Likewise, Needlefang seemed to be feeling increasingly comfortable at Rive's side as well, since the medicine dog reveal an opinion that she preferred not to have spread around.
"It's just between us." Rive promised, equally quickly, and fortunately so. "Speaking of..."
She felt her muscles grow ever more tense as the strange dogs approached, carrying prey to the prey pile, beside which the two Chihuahua mixes were sharing a meal. Rive was terribly unused to seeing strange dogs about, and they made her nervous. She was afraid of them, and unsure of how to act around them. The omega struggled to place outsiders in her hierarchical ideas of social status. Almost without thinking, she found herself leaning toward Needlefang, her pelt brushing her companion's flank as she sought some comfort during the tense moment. Meanwhile, she averted her gaze, hoping to avoid drawing attention to herself. After a moment, Rive allowed herself a glance upwards again, to check if the strangers had left.

Dawnpaw smiled, and gently began to pluck each off the ground, careful to only take the bigger ones, leaving the small ones to grow. "Yeah, they are. They do kinda lose their color when we dry them, though. They turn to a dusty color." The apprentice stopped talking, because her mouth was completely full of chamomile, and she was afraid to squeeze them too hard, lest they lose their juice, which could be used as a quick (though painful) cure for infections. "Shou' we hea' ba'?" she asked through the flowers, hoping the older warrior would understand.

Thornheart lay calmly on her side, watching Velvetstar head for her High-Rock. The two rogues from yesterday appeared to be standing next to her, along with the recently appointed Snowstorm. What were their names again? Hmm... the elder watched through half closed eyes, trying to remember if their names had been spoken. "Well, Velvetstar will probably tell us," she said musingly, resting her head on her paws.

She nodded to her adoptive mother "alright, come on then Whispering" she told him flicking her tail toward one of the dens "that's our nursery, a den for pups nad mothers... thought we don't have any dams right now" she said.

The pup just nodded and walked off with the apprentice. He mumbled a small 'bye' to the older dog as before continuing on to the Nursery. "So...there's no other pups or any mothers?" Sure, Whispering was going to become an apprentice anyway so it didn't really matter if there were any. Though it would be nice to know if there were possibly any apprentices near his age.

"Oh, I didn't know that the petals had to dry out," she murmured with wonder and helped pluck flowers. The kangal mimicked Dawnpaw's movements and was careful with the flowers, since she didn't know which part of the plant was used. "Mmhmm," Applefrost hummed in response and nodded her head.

She shook her head "not really dams at the moment, but there is a Hollandpup there, which is very close to your age actually" she answered to him, stopping to the entrance of the nursery "here we are, maybe when Velvetstar give her approve for your staying with us, I can show you the camp?" she told him.

Whisper nodded, his tag wagging lightly at the mention if a possible friend. At the mention of a tour, there was a small smile on his face because this was already starting to feel homely. "I would love that." The mention of their alpha got the pup thinking; what was their alpha like? Curiosity got the best of him, asking in his usual soft-spoken voice, "What's Velvetstar like?"
