After seeing her brother appear from behind Velvetstar, she honestly wanted to get up and check him for any wounds, but after how he treated her earlier, she didn't want to see to them. She wanted him gone.

Snowstorm stayed by Spotted when she saw Hawk. She wouldn’t stop Spotted if she wanted to talk to her brother but she felt the need to keep the pack safe. And Spotted obviously didn’t want to talk to her sibling. Snowstorm didn’t blame her. Oh great. Velvetstar let him come back. But why? She thought. “I see you went hunting. I was just thinking maybe I could take Spotted hunting.” She said with a smile.

She nodded in acknowledgement, grinning at Spotted, who, now that Velvetstar had a good look at her, seemed distracted. And not in a good way. Protectiveness flared up in the wolfdog as she noticed that the siblings were eying each other with some strange, painfully familiar expressions in their eyes. Stepping between them, she smirked down at the shorter Hawk. She sat down casually and, masking her disdain in a thin veil of hilarity, remarked, "My, my, you're quite the popular character, Little Bird. They're so compelled to stare that they can't even speak to you - now, whether that's owed to awe or the bile building in their throats is up for debate." She allowed the "joke" to sink in before growling out a laugh - "Just kidding!" - simultaneously smacking a paw roughly into the back of the other dog's head in mimicy of generic, playful teasing. The amount of force she used, though, suggested it was anything but. Velvetstar muttered through a little snigger, "At least, like, partially, anyways." Standing back up, she let her rabbit drop to the earthy floor and turned back to the other she-dogs. Hearing about Spotted had brought her genuine relief; she didn't have to force any comedy into her tone. She glanced over at her. "It seems you've been given an endorsement. I, nor my Pack, are bloody idiots, so don't expect it to be all cuddles and sharing muzzles immediately, but..." she smiled, a toothy, bona fide wolf smile, murmuring, "Consider this a solid start, ShadowPacker." She dragged out the pronunciation of "ShadowPacker" in a mischievous impression of unnecessarily formal announcements. Turning back to Hawk, however, basically drained any real enthusiasm away. Her lips peeled back in a strained grin, inadvertently exposing her upper teeth while she looked him over. "My good friend, here, hasn't been recommended by anyone - surprising, I know - but Little Bird promises he'd be a harmless addition. He spent the entire voyage trying to show me just how harmless he is, in fact. A little nonsensical for a fellow that acted so grumpy about being here, if you ask me..." She leaned in, her curling muzzle inches from his. "But I suppose no one did. So..." Suddenly, she backed away from him, her veneer returning in the form of a wolfish grin and an unpretentious wag of her bushy tail as she said, dryly, "You, too, I guess." Her attention shifted back to Snowstorm and Spotted. "Permission granted on that hunting request, but I'd like to go with, if that's alright. Birchpaw also, if I could find him. Before that, however, we have important business to attend to; not everyone knows who the interesting intruders are, after all." Her head twisted back to sneer at Hawk. She said, "Interesting intruder? Please be a dear and transport all this fresh-kill to the appropriate pile. Be quick, too, if you want a proper name." With that, she headed towards the section of camp where the overhanging Thunderpaths above parted, letting in the only significant amount of light that could be found on ShadowPack territory. She started for the Twisted Rock, her perch from which she frequently made announcements.

Snowstorm watched Velvetstar head to the Twisted Rock. That’s right. The pack didn’t really know much about Spotted or Hawk. Honestly she could laugh at Velvetstar’s nickname for Hawk. Little Bird?! That’s hilarious! she thought. That reminded her she had to talk to Hawk. But that could wait for now.

Dawnpaw smiled as she thought of the Moonpool. "It's at the top of this mountain-ish structure, near a waterfall. I remember going there; it was fascinating. There's this huge stone in the cave, it's underneath this opening at the cave. Anyways, when the moon is at the right angle, it shines on the Moonstone, and it's easy to talk to Starpack, easier than normal." Dawnpaw stopped walking. She had noticed a bright yellow flower in the undergrowth- "There's some chamomile!" she barked excitedly.

At mention of the upcoming gathering, Rive felt her heart flutter with excitement. Gatherings were her favorite of all clan activities. It was a rare opportunity to experience life outside of camp and catch up on all the latest news from the other clans. She did not get to go every moon, but when she did, she savored every second of it.
"Oh, I'm always eager for gatherings, but it sounds like you have a really good reason to be. I wonder if the other medicine dogs have anything to add..."
Rive trailed off, partially lost on thought, and partially distracted by some activity across camp.
"Hey, wait... Do you see that? It looks like Velvetstar might be about to call a meeting."

Seeing the Alpha take position, Needlefang nodded but continued eating, having too much to do to pay too much attention unless it was serious. “Our ranks continue to grow, I wonder if it’s a good thing or a bad omen...” she muttered quietly. “Never repeat that.” She said quickly, glad no one else was around. She didn’t want to seem like a traitor, it was just a bad feeling she got suddenly.

The grumbling old male, snarled at the newcomer as Velvetstar took her position. He didn’t like just accepting anyone, he thought the pack needed to remain pure and only have the offspring of the pack in it. Anyone who wasn’t ShadowPack was the enemy to him.

Watching her brother carry the rabbits towards the pile, Spotted watched him. She noticed that he forgot one and decided to pick it up and carry it over, dropping it then going back towards Snowstorm. She was the only dog she felt comfortable around at this point. As she walked back to Snowstorm, she felt Witheredleaf's gaze burn into her fur, but she dared not to turn and look at him.

“Some of the pack might not be so accepting of you because you weren’t born into the pack. I’m not like that so don’t let Witheredleaf’s staring at you like the enemy bother you.” Snowstorm whispered so only Spotted could hear. Sure she hadn’t known the elder that well herself and often wondered what he thought of her. Snowstorm was born into the pack after all.

The nervous pup let out a shaky sigh, his voice just above a whisper, "I...I would like to stay. That is, if it's ok with your alpha." He had yet to see the leader of the Shadowpack and had very little knowledge about them. The young pup didn't even know what they looked like or how they treated others. His mind immediately went to the worst possibility; a cruel alpha who forces her pack into submission through fear rather than respect. Whisper shuddered, breaking himself from his thoughts and looking back at the older dogs.
