The Cat's Meow Official Role-play
~Between Light and Shadow~

In a world different from our own there are two vast territories. One is the Region of Darkness and it is enshrouded in dark forests and rocky mountains, rough and harsh landscape. Even so cats roam there. There is one tribe that is lead by one leader but cats accept this none the less. The cats in this area are evil spirits, dark and murderous though mostly not to their own kind.
Then there is the Region of Light, a peaceful area of rolling hills, peaceful forests and enchanting lakes. Here cats also roam, again with one tribe and a leader.
There has been peace between the regions for a long time but a harsh winter is coming. The cats in the Region of Darkness grow hungrier and weaker every day while the felines in the Region of Light live contentedly.
This angers the cats of the darkness, as they may be known, and they plan on doing something about it. Their leader, Waru, has had plans on how to gain the territory of the light but now she has a reason to attack. A war is soon to rage as the light and dark collide for life, love, friendship, and the end of suffering.
Who will win? Who can say but no one bodes well when a war is raging.

Some insight on the breeds

A cat's rank mostly depends on what breed it is, it's different strengths and weaknesses and such.
Winged-cats are great hunters and very good with patrols and scouting.
Dragon-cats are great fighters and a good deal stronger than any other cats, though much slower than winged cats in the air,
Flametail cats are in charge of the tribes' fire. (cooking fires, fire weapons, ect.) They are great experts in fire weaponry and culinary arts.
Longhairs are very intelligent and beautiful cats, they are also very good swimmers.
Normal cats can choose any of these professions, just most wouldn't be as good as, say, winged cats are at hunting, dragon-cats with fighting, ect.
Though these different ranks are not set in stone, most cats of different breeds are encouraged to join their main profession, but it would not occasion much comment if, say, a winged-cat became a Defender(fighter), it's just not very common.
All breeds are of equal eligibility for the Healer position.

Terminology list

Pricklies- the feline version of the "Willies"
Shadewalker- A cat who is a spy for the Region of Darkness. To call a cat that supports the Region of Light this is an insult.
Lightfriend- A cat who is a spy for the Region of Light. To call a cat that supports the Region of Darkness this is an insult.
To "Walk in the Light"- Means that a cat supports the Region of Light
To "Be pledged to the Shadow"- Means that a cat supports the Region of Darkness
Drakes- Slang for Dragon cats
Feathereds- Slang for Winged cats (I'm looking for a better name if anyone has suggestions)
Pyromancers or Illuminaters - Slang for Flametail cats
Curses that relate to, or are about dogs are the worst things you can call another cat- Example, dog-breath, dog-brained, ect.

The Council of the Flame
a council of holy cats, one of each species, that all cats, -Light or Dark regions- look up to. It is said that when Light and Darkness are at war, so is the council.

Once, a long time ago, several cat's banded together to survive and live. Each cat had a different unique ability and they soon learned they would all die without banding together. After several years of peace, the several cat's had children and they all became the first tribe, Flame Tribe. The leader was Felis, who was wise and braze, always remaining neutral. But soon the original cat's began feuding among themselves. For power, love, friendship, jealousy, and wealth. The Flame tribe split into two; the Lunar Tribe and the Solar Tribe. Felis did not approve of this and remain neutral, leading both tribes. But his age and illnesses betrayed him and while he was traveling from one tribe to the other, he passed away. Right in the middle of the two territories. All the cats mourned when they heard the news. Many wanted some of the original cat's to become leader but all at once, they soon became sick and died. Many say it was the will of Felis to give them the sickness and bring him to the stars with him. Once all the original cat's were gone, the two tribes panicked. Seeing the chaos Felis came down from the stars and told both tribes to meet at his deathbed. So all cats went to the border, where their dear Felis had died. There all the original cat's and Felis stepped down from the heavens and chose leaders for the two tribes. Cat's began to murmur about what will come of Felis. Felis simply said gently, "Me and my fellow cats," -he motioned with his tail to the original cats- "will be known as The Council of The Flame. Whenever you feel lost or alone, look to us who will always be smiling down upon you. We will always provide the warmth from our fires and help you on your tough journeys. When you all pass away, as all will, you will join the fields in the stars and live peacefully for eternity. This is our gift to you. So live well and live life." With that The Council departed back into the stars and the two tribes went to their own territories to live well and live a happy life.

Darius: Darius is the Flametail of the Council, and he is the one that gave all of the flametails the fire on the end of their tail. [Supporter of the Light Region]
Darkon:(Dark-on) Darkon is the dragon-cat of the Council and he is the one who gave dragon-cats their draconic features. [Supporter of the Dark Region]
Whitewolf: Whitewolf is the winged-cat of the Council and she is the one who gave the winged-cats their wings. [Supporter of the Light Region]
Aderalt: Aderalt is the long-hair of the Council, and he is the one who gave the long-hairs their beautiful, long fur. [Supporter of the Dark Region]
Cosmic: Cosmic is the Leaping-cat of the Council, and he was the one who gave leaping-cats their strong back legs and climbing ability. [Supporter of the Light Region]
Envy: Envy is the PPS cat of the Council, and she was the one who gave the gift of youth to all PPS cats. [Supporter of the Dark Region]
Felis:(Fee-lis) Felis is the regular cat on the Council, and he gave all cats life. He is the leader of the Council. [Neutral]

Seeing nothing wrong with the fox that could speak the cat language, she went along with him and found herself being boiled alive. Begging for mercy, Envy was given a choice: Become a Kitten Forever, paying the fox her adult life for freedom, or being eaten in a pot of delicious kit stew. Either was acceptable for the fox, or so he said. What he didnt tell her was, the PPS Kits live for a very long time, always in their kit bodies, never having kits, or a mate. Its as much of a curse as it is a gift. She then found the leader of the Council of Flame, Felis, who was still alive at the time. Sibryn looked over her tribe proudly, standing on one of the many high outcroppings that surrounded the Leader's den. She closed her eyes eyes as the chilly breeze ruffled her thick fur and feathers. She could stay up here for forever, watching contentedly as her tribe thrived around her, but sadly, that was not the case. There was work to be done. Taking a leap off the small cliff she had been perching on, she spread out her lovely gray-dappled wings, beating them hard as the ground came up to meet her. With only a small cloud of dust, she landed gracefully, near the middle of camp, and set off to see to the daily workings of her tribe.

Halloween waved his tail in greeting at his leader, then went back to what he had been working on in the corner. Haha! This prank is gold! He thought mischievously, as he gathered his pile of dead stink-beetles onto a large leaf. He had spent all night gathering them to hide under the Healer's bedding, and when Chemical lay down to sleep tonight.. Squish! Stink everywhere! He had to hold in another laugh, lest other cats try to see what he was up to.

Cyril padded back into camp with only a few tiny shrews to show for her hunting. She spat them onto the puny fresh-kill pile, bristling with anger. How come the cats of the Lunar tribe were nearly starving, while the cats over in the Light Region were probably stuffing their greedy faces with fresh-kill. It's not fair! She nearly yowled, as she grabbed a pitiful squirrel off the pile and padded back to her nest with all the other hunters. Her dark, dappled coat helped her blend in well with the shadows, surprising several of her tribemates when she finally stepped into the fading rays of sunlight. She lay down in her nest, grumpily eating her tough and stringy squirrel.

Whitewolf gazed down upon Lunar Tribe.She was watching them from her heavenly home and sighed.～I fear if this food shortage keeps up they will attack Solar Tribe.Things are already tuff as it is for my beloved Solar Tribe.～She thought to herself.

Toby prowled around the tribes camp.He was tired of being hungry.Even his fur was begining to lose its wonderful luster.He growled when Cyril stopped near him to eat."I wonder what Waru is doing right now,"He grumbled.

Blueheart was resting her eyes.She was happy that her tribe was well fed and thus her soon to be born kits would be as well.

Neon was out in the lush forest.He laughed as a butterfly landed on his nose."Hello there little fellow,what are you doing there?"He said to it.

Luanr Tribe

Ardra sat on a rock in the territory of her ancestors. Her luscious Scarlet fur sparkled in what light trickled through the trees. She washed her one black paw and the rubbed it delicately across her ear.

Nightmare was out of the camp, his green eyes glowing softly in the shadows of the forest(?). He smiled revealing sharp ivory blades that could cut through the toughest of skin. When he moved, his muscles rippled under his brown-black fur, his curved blade-like claws slid out of their sheaths when he spotted a bird pecking at the grass harmlessly a few tail-lengths away.

Solar Tribe
Chemical was frantically running around searching for the right herbs. His wings were getting in the way, and hitting everything and everycat. Sadly, his Metallic, scaly green tail wasn't doing much better. Everytime he turned around it whacked into a stack of sorted herbs, or a rock... He'd have bruises in the morning!

Lunarrain yawned and stretched, his muscles rippling under his smoky black-with-gold-and-crimson-spots pelt. He licked his mouth, ears pricked forward listening to the quiet all around him... Suddenly he heard the chirp chirping of a bird and smiled. Moving into a crouch, he waited for the exact moment, then, moving fluidly, he pounced on the robin and snapped its neck swiftly so it would not suffer.

Flame Council

Envy Watched in disgust as the cats in the Solar Tribe went about their daily business. The little blue kit had been left alone, and why shouldn't they leave her alone? She was different, her body would never grow into its full height, she would never have kits of her own, or a mate, even thought she was older than half the council cats. Sighing loudly, Envy, true to her name, envied the other cats who could fly, jump high, create fire, were intelligent, or had the scales of a dragon, or were just fully grow like her friend Felis. Sighing once more, the little kit stalked off to go find a nice spot to rest. It is to peaceful, soon something will happen... Oh yes, very soon. And may Lunar Tribe be the top cats in the outcome of whatever is to come.
