She smiled at the pack dog, getting little nervous about his questions, or mostly how he will react to her the respond back "I am Flaming and that's my brother Darkness" she said giving a look to her brother for a moment "actually, where being wandering around like a lost pups for moons...and got to the decision that we could want to join some pack?" she said getting more silently.

Lupinpaw spluttered, shocked at the quick turn of events. "I-I... what? No! I was the one who said it wasn't a good idea!" he fumed, getting up and stomping towards the dens. "Huh, we just talk about hunting, and get in trouble. Then you go disobey the medicine dog and another warrior and probably Blizzardstar, and get away with it!" Lupinpaw grumbled to himself all the way down the hill to the dens, and entered the apprentice's den reluctantly. "Also!" he complained, thinking of another reason to be rebellious. "I cleaned the dumb warrior den just last night! You guys have to be real messy to have to require cleaning every nine hours." He huffed, out of breath, and out of complaints.

Quickleap frowned, though more in thought than anything else. "Flaming and Darkness..." he said, thinking hard. Nightfire'll wring my throat if I bring them back into the pack. She's so distrustful of rogues, and it's no wonder why. And yet... he studied them both, their muscular bodies, thick fur, sharp fangs, long legs. They were young as well, but not so young that they would be a burden. They would benefit the pack a lot more than they would drag us down... "I can take you to our camp, and ask our deputy and leader. Follow me." Quickleap began his slow march back to camp, thoughts of Foxpaw replaced by those of the two siblings.

"I-I don't know about 'adamant'... I'm just confident about, m-my, uh...work," she replied a little defensively. She cringed at his use of the term "puppy's play," largely because she thought it had sounded insecure and forced coming from her moments ago, before she tentatively mimicked him by sitting down to calm him (mostly herself). Hesitantly, she returned the favor of his kind words, saying, "U-uh, yeah...likewise. I haven't met another medicine dog apprentice before, so this is actually kind of..." Her polite smile was nervous, eyes darting back and forth between the dog she was speaking to and whatever part of their surroundings conveniently captured her attention, but it was slowly morphing into something more genuine. She reluctantly finished her statement with, "cool." Feeling a little awkward and claustrophobic, she stood back up abruptly, wobbling in her determination to keep her bad leg lifted off the ground. To keep herself unconcerned with the other in the room (as unconcerned as Foxpaw could be about a social matter), she set to work, picking up a piece of thorn, matted in bloodied fur, and hurriedly limping towards the entrance to the den.

He nodded at Foxpaw's reply and remained as silent as possible for now, realizing that he had offended her. "Really? My brother is also a medicine dog apprentice, but I guess you wouldn't know him. Other than him, I don't know anyone else either," Azurepaw responded. His own smile formed on his jaw, and he hoped that Foxpaw was beginning to relax a little. Shifting his paws, he thought about something else to say and for once couldn't come up with something. That was really odd. To his surprise, Foxpaw stood up and began picking up thorns. Azurepaw did the same and clenched the thorn in between his front teeth, muffledly murmuring, "Thank you for helping."

Dappleheart smiled at him and nodded, following his lead but keeping her ears pricked. A distinct gobble was becoming louder as they moved. “Turkey...” she whispered, trying to control her excitement, they were large and not the quickest so as long as they got close they should be able to get at least one. Though they did fight back a bit and had blinded dogs before.

Although she was trying to distract herself, one word in particular made her stop, ears perked. "You have a brother?" she asked. The question brought her back to her puphood, when she was crammed in a crowded twoleg nest with only one familiar face. The recognizable claws of guilt gouged at her. She had to steel herself, however, before this other dog realized how much the subject bothered her; she didn't want to get roped into talking more on it. Dismissing her own attempt to continue the conversation, Foxpaw scrabbled clumsily with her forepaws at the entrance of the den. She nearly smacked her chest into the wall with how eratically she was moving, but she managed to limp her way outside. Bracing herself on the forepaw opposite to the side her maimed hindleg was on, she used the other forepaw to scrape away at the ground, creating a shallow, jagged hole. Carefully, she dropped the thorn in, neck stretched forward so she'd avoid contact with the spiky chunk if she'd misjudged the distance between her jaws and the hole. Satisfied, she turned and slipped back down into the den, her movements slightly more graceful thanks to the small bit of experience she'd had with that particular slope. "Well, y-yeah...I wouldn't really know. I didn't really know your Pack existed before like...yesterday, so..." She bent down to snatch up another thorn, attempting to seem more distracted than she was when she answered, half-hearted, "O-of course."

The other apprentice briefly asked about his brother, and he shrugged. Azurepaw thought about him and answered, "Yeah, but he's a lot different than me. Calm, but stubborn." He followed after Foxpaw and watched as she struggled up the slope, feigning off the urge to help. Digging his own hole a few tail-lengths away, Azurepaw dropped the thorn in and headed back to the den to pick up one more. It was tedious and long work, but with Foxpaw it would be somewhat quicker. "I only know of Windpack, but I didn't realize there was another pack," Azurepaw added and retrieved a thorn after the she-dog had gotten one. It dawned on him that he didn't know the name of Foxpaw's pack, and he asked, "What's your pack called? I forgot to ask."

She rushed to take out another discarded thorn before he could get too close, but she was still listening more than she wanted to. A snippet of the conversation marked unfamiliar territory for the apprentice and, clearly curious but too timid to let it be apparent, she remarked as she came back inside from dropping another two thorns into her hole, "W-WindPack? I don't think I've heard of..." Her eyes flashed with recognition and her inquisitiveness broke through the surface of her facade. "Wait, that's a Forest Territory Pack, isn't it? I haven't seen them in the flesh, but I've heard stories." Remembering who she was talking to, Foxpaw cleared her throat awkwardly. A tremor of anxiety shot through her at his question, despite that the matter wasn't all that serious. To her, it felt like a potentially incriminating or endangering question, the difference between the life and death of her Pack. My Pack's name? MY PACK'S NAME? I knew it! He's interrogating me - they do want to kill us all! Oh my gosh, I can't believe I actually relaxed for a second there! Her voice reduced to little more than a nervous line of mad rambling, "O-oh, m-my Pack? Um, um - I don't remember! The name, I mean, it's like... Uh, I have short-term honesty - uh, MEMORY - memory loss! Honestly - HONESTY loss, ha h-ha, w-what even is that? N-Not a medical condition that exists! I would know, b-because I'm a medicine dog and m-medicine dogs like medicine!" Breathing heavily, she fought to regain her mind from her intensive panic attack. "W-What were we talking about?"
