Personality: Perky and sassy. Almost always has a semi-sarcastic remark to any situation, but is never mean spirited about it. She’s the self-declared Life of the Party and tries to keep spirits high.
Primary Ability: While she’s quick enough and extremely agile on her own, she can activate a super speed for about 10s at a time, which is usually enough.
Primary Ability Limits/Downsides: If she tries to push herself past the short burst where she’s safely comfortable, she can usually go for about 5 more seconds before she really strains and tires herself.
Secondary Ability: this is either wip or she just doesn’t have one I can’t really think straight rn

Backstory(Optional): She had a younger sister, who she pretty much raised. Sadly, her sister isn’t with her anymore. She doesn’t like to dwell on her past much, in fact she tries to forget about how her sister even existed.

The media had been going crazy for months now. The Contorta Kingdom’s new King has been causing an uproar, disrupting and destroying the lives of everyone he sees fit. Alex tightens her grip on the reins to her beautiful black mare as she mulls this over. There’d even been talks of war against him. Her and some of her family and friends were doing what any logical Contorta Kingdom subject was doing right now... Getting the heck out.

“Almost there!” Alex calls.

They had been galloping until now, no man’s land is dangerous. And they don’t stop as they enter an old, warn down village, with dirt roads, and shacks for selling things, all made of wood. She only pulls her horse to a stop as they reach the stable. She pulls the hood of her jacket up and slides off. A stable hand takes her horse from her, and two others come to take the horses of her traveling companions.

Issac slides off his stallion and walks over to help his daughter down from the horse she rides. Obinni smiles weakly up at him. “Hey! You there!” A guard patrolling the town stalks towards them. “Show me your marks!” ‘Dang it!’ Issac grabs Obinni’s hand, and the three of them take off running.

A creepy boy with a black turtleneck obscuring his face peaked around the corner of one of the shacks, holding the corner with thin tan fingers. What he saw was the most interesting thing he’d seen all month. He laughed giddily to himself. Maybe they were refugees like him, or maybe smugglers, or bandits. But with a kid that young...probably refugees. Well, everything would be way cooler if they got away.

He hid around the corner, pulling a string of pebbles out of his bag, attached to his fingertip like a rocky tentacle. He wrapped it along the bottom of the wall...then lashed it out to catch the guard’s foot and trip him.

Then he retracted the tentacle and held a single stone in his hand.
“Bye, Pete.”

He chucked it across the clearing and let it clang loudly against the wall of a nearby shack, the opposite direction from the runaways.

It hadn't been much of a haven, but it was still something. The dingy, run-down, two-story building, an Inn in only the loosest sense of the word. It had multiple rooms. Some of those rooms had things that resembled beds. One could conceivably pay to stay there. Roxy hadn't, she'd bought her stay with offers of security, but she supposed that one could, conceivably, exchange money for a brief sleep on a bedbug-infested mattress. Her current tenure there was on the promise of scaring off anyone desperate enough to steal from someone who had nothing. She ran off the odd thief or desperate refugee, and the owner didn't tell the guards or the Family she was staying there. Not exactly ideal, but she couldn't really do better.

The sounds of an altercation from outside caught her attention, and she went to the front door to see exactly what was happening. A group of refugees, a family it looked like. Maybe they let their guard down, thinking it was safe this far out. Stupid. Not her problem. She had her own problems. She didn't need to get mixed up in their business, especially if guards were chasing after them. Nope. Not her problem.

Heaving a sigh heavy with annoyance, Roxy stepped out of the inn and followed after the fleeing family, at a slower pace so that the pursuing guards wouldn't notice. She'd follow them for a bit, intervene if things got ugly, then head straight back to the inn and never come out. Maybe if she kept telling herself that she'd actually do it.

The guard tripped and stumbled with a yelp as suddenly his foot was caught in a string of rocks. He fell, but caught himself with his hands. "You little!" He snarls. Standing. "RUFFIANS! THE LOT OF YOU!" the pebble momentarily caught his attention, but he still could see his query dashing towards an alley they could dip behind. He starts waving his arm back and forth like he's readying a whip, then suddenly with a quick motion lashes out whatever invisible thing, be it a whip or a lasso, towards the fleeing new arrivals.

Issac's free hand is suddenly jerked back, and he stumbles and nearly falls as his body twists to follow his arm. he looks to see suddenly a glowing translucent binding around his hand that as he lets go of Obinni and brings his other hand to it to try and get it off, it catches that hand as well. He hisses and snaps "LET GO! WE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!" The guard tugs harshly on the translucent glowing line from Issac to the guard. Issac digs his heels in and leans back resisting the pull, but clearly the two are about equally matched in strength, if the guard isn't a bit stronger. The small child travelling with them tries to run to Issac, but Alex grabs her and pulls her back. "No! Stay back!" Issac says, having heard her try and run up. "Daddy!" She cries. "Obinni, no!" Alex huffs in her ear, and grips her shoulder more tightly, taking a few steps backwards to get away, as Issac still pulls against the ropes. Obinni's eyes glow purple, and she glances around trying to find something she can grab and toss at the guard. There's nothing nearby light enough for her to lift. The child's breath quickens and she struggles against Alex who's now fighting to get her under control and hidden.

Far above the town a hawk eerily circles.

The boy snapped his fingers in frustration. He dashed forward, behind the guard. He was using his stupid lasso power again. Cephas never dared to challenge it, but he saw it used by day on petty thieves and muggers, and the fun was over before it began.

Maybe that’s why Cephas surged forward with his string of rocks and searched the guard’s armor for a loose object to control. He wanted to flick the guard around by his armor, but instead gripped the....hilt of his sword!?

The sword resonated with pride and rigidity. Blind justice, but not blind in the way that you’d hope. The sword’s will was resistant, but pathetic. An angry grunt in the night. It was easily silenced.

Cephas wasn’t fast enough to get ahead of the guard, but he tried to get forward enough to cut the stupid lasso.

Vitali rode towards the border of Contorta, occasionally glancing behind him, even though he knew no one was following him... yet. He would have left earlier, but he had been in a somewhat compromising place that would have been far too risky for him to go. So, the moment he had a real chance to take a horse and go, he took it. He hoped that it wouldn't be too difficult to get out, but he hardly expected it. After all, since when was anything like this that easy?

As he arrived at a small town near the edge, he slowed down quite rapidly - nearly getting thrown off his horse in the process, due to the sudden stop - when he realised that there was quite the commotion happening ahead of him, with a small group of about four others looking as though they were trying to escape a couple of persuing guards. And it looked like the guards had caught the adult male of the group.

Vitali dismounted his horse quickly, and glanced up at the sky. It was early the evening... not quite enough for his power to reach full potential, but he could still use it a little. Perhaps he could use it to help the group... no, it wasn't his sort of thing to do, but he was also trying to escape, so he figured that having the same goal was enough reason to help. First... he was going to have to draw some lunar power in...

Cephas's sword sliced seamlessly and effortlessly through the lasso... Which glitched and frizted like a hologram. And was left unharmed. "Hey! Quit it kid!" A forceful pulse of air was sent in Cephas's direction.

With another harsh tug, Issac stumbles a couple steps closer to the guard, before trying to jerk back in protest. His eyes light up as he tries to use his ability and make snow, but the bindings on his hands sting and burn at the effort and he's forced to stop, with little to no success. "Get her out of here!" He calls to Alex "I'll be fine!" He glances briefly at Cephas with uncertain concern. 'but.. You won't' Alex thinks briefly, her breath hitches. She glances around. Only now noticing Vitali. She gasps and stumbles away from him, an arm wrapped around Obinni and holding her close.

The group is effectively surrounded, a guard on one side, and a stranger on the other, the stranger who seems like he's clearly preparing for some sort of attack. All three of their hearts pound.

Someone who appeared to be a young teenager had also rushed forward - on the guard's side - and was attempting to fight the guard in a way. Vitali was not too concerned with him - no, it was just the guard he was focused on as well. Although... he did notice that the woman in the group had noticed him, having stumbled away from him and holding the two kids she had close. This was kind of amusing to Vitali, and he was unable to resist giving Alex and wink and a click of his tongue, while he drew in as much power as he could.

Then, he pulled the lunar energy he gathered to his hands, eyes glowing a steady silvery colour. Vitali took a deep breath as he then formed the lunar energy into a bright beam, which he fired at the guard's hand, which seemed to be holding some sort of hologram lasso - so he figured he just needed the guard to let go of it to let the man free. Or a chance to escape, at the very least.

The situation had escalated remarkably quickly. Two new strangers had entered the playing field, a kid with a mask who looked to have a knack for finding his way into other people's pockets, and a tall, black-haired man, channeling some kind of ability. Two on one seemed more than enough, they clearly had the matter in hand. Of course, that didn't mean she could just leave, her conscience wouldn't allow it. Roxy stepped into the shadow of one of the buildings, leaning up against the rickety wooden wall and folding her arms. For now, she'd watch. If things got out of hand again, then maybe she'd intervene.

Everything got really cool, really fast. He actually managed to land a blow on the stupid lasso, but it did nothing, before he was sent flying backwards. He hit his head on the cobblestone pavement and his rocks and sword went scattering everywhere. After sitting up he lamented the state of his rock collection.

“Noooooo!” He whined. His remaining rocks, he extended from his hand and swept the floor, recollecting as many rocks as he could reach, and finally, the sword on the end. He then looked up just in time to see an intense bright beam slam into the guard’s lasso hand.

“YES!!” He pumped his fist in victory. He wanted so badly for that awful lasso guy to just, somehow, lose this thing that made him feel so powerful. Cephas didn’t stand up, but instead shifted his legs underneath him so he could get up quickly if he had to. He held the sword on the end of his long rock tentacle, trying to hold it under the guard’s neck from behind, at a right angle.
