Himiko Yumeno
Himiko follows Kiibo on foot. Normally, she would have just teleported there, but... something is off. Way too off, like a high level wizard just set a curse on the surrounding area. It makes her put in work, but she sticks close to Kiibo throughout the halls until they arrive at the gym. And when they do get there, she peeks from behind Kiibo as he slowly opens the door.
She’s first met with two people, Gundham and a girl who Himiko thinks she hasn’t seen yet. Her pink hair reminds Himiko of bubblegum. She looks to be around Jataro’s age, which is strange. Another kid?
Bells toil in the middle of her thoughts. An announcement plays through the building’s speaker system. A body has been discovered, and students should make their way to... the gym?
She has to look down to see him. How did she not notice the sprouting wood from the floor before? Maybe it’s an illusion, she thinks, that just appeared before them. Monokuma has to have exceptional powers to be able to block her off from teleporting out, so who’s to say this isn’t another power he has?
Still, the denial doesn’t stop her from shifting from side to side. There’s a part of her that knows this is real, but she refuses to acknowledge it as she turns her head away from the scene.
Hajime Hinata
...What?
His throat feels dry. Did that announcement just say what he thinks it did? He must have misheard... but if the faces Makoto and Shuichi make as he looks between them with wide eyes mean anything, they misheard it the same way he did. There’s no way, though— no way that could have happened! It’s not even noon yet— would someone really choose to—
With unsteady arms, he pushes himself off the grass and follows his friends to the gym. He’s never been there before, and if he has to associate his first visit with this, then... well. The walk there is tense, and everyone is too focused on their own thoughts to talk. Shuichi looks like he’s having trouble carrying Jataro the entire way there. Hajime would offer to help, but he’s not sure he would be better fit for the job with the amount of shaking his hands are doing.
When they do reach the entrance of the gym after the walk that seemed to take a lifetime, Hajime pauses for a moment and takes a deep breath. Do they really want to do this? To go inside and possibly see... no, no way. It’s impossible, no one is dead! With a shout, he swings open the gym’s door...
...to be met with the evidence proving him wrong. He’ll never forget the sight. He pales, taking a step back from the crime scene. Someone really did start the game. If this is a nightmare, he’d like to wake up now. There are other people around— he can see their legs in his peripheral vision— but he can’t take his focus off the announcement’s subject.
