This dog park was built in 1998 in San Diego, California. It is filled with dogs nearly every day due to it’s cleanliness, amenities, and location. It is found in the heart of San Diego and has an agility course, thousands of toys scattered around the park, and water fountains filled with fresh water that make it a favorite for humans and their furry friends.

agility course

The agility course is filled with obstacles for the agile and adventurous dogs found in the park. It consists of an a-frame, a dogwalk, a few jumps, and some tunnels. Sometimes you will find dogs resting under the a-frame if the day turns out to be particularly hot.

water fountains

✿

Throughout the park there are little rock water fountains that provide clean water for the dogs to drink from. Also a place they can cool off if it’s too hot outside.

A very common hangout spot for the various dogs. There is a short end and a tall end to accommodate the various sized dog breeds.

Lily pranced merrily along the sidewalk without a care in the world. The smell of hotdogs and people erupted around her as she smiled wide with her tongue plopping out. She looked up at her owner, who was busy talking into that weird device she stared at so much. Lily rolled her eyes and continued her attention to the smells around her. Then, as soon as she knew it, they had arrived at her favorite place. Lily’s owner put her weird device down for a second to unleash Lily, and then hugged her goodbye. “Be a good girl, Lily.” She said happily. “I will be back to pick you up after work.” What’s work? Lily thought. No matter. Soon enough Lily’s owner proceeded to leave the dog park, and Lily turned her attention to the dogs around her with a cautious yet excited gaze.

Thor awoke in a panic. His ears perked up and his tongue was dry as he panted heavily to try and gain his composure. As quickly as he had awoke in the panic, as quickly he had returned to reality with a skowl planted on his face. He grumbled under his breath... “Just another bad dream.” Thor groaned as he rested his head on his paws, watching the privileged dogs make their way into the place he called home.

Matrok

He'd taken to sleeping under the a-frame as to stay out of the harsh weather on rainy nights. Matrok rolled onto his side as he looked at the sky, attempting to see what the time of day was. Blinking as he realized that Ilsu would probably be arriving now the brute got up and left his little makeshift den. Once he had more room, he started to groom his messy fur. It had been a few days since he last saw Ilsu, much less anyone that he regularly talked too, but he didn't mind, as Mat wasn't a very social dog.

Ilsu happily trotted along with her owner, tail wagging wildly as the two reached a small sitting area. She was still on her leash, the canine sat down next to her owner as the human sat down and got out a few treats. Her owner put one treat in a small toy and held it out in front of her. "Ilsu, Fetch." The human then took Ilsu off the leash and threw the toy, smiling as the Canine rushed after the toy. A soft growl left the black-coated female as she barreled toward the toy that smelled like a treat. Ilsu and her owner always did this before the human left her at the dog park for a few hours of relaxation. They'd go over a few more commands and then the human would leave Ilsu to her own devices.

Thor’s gaze fixed on a brute he had become rather familiar with the past few months. They hadn’t spoken, but strays knew strays. Thor made it a point to know every dog who came to the park. He kept his head on his paws as he watched the large male leave his shelter of the agility course. Thor grumbled under his breath, then quickly rose from his little corner. He trotted towards the male, sitting by his side. Thor glanced at him, a questioning look on his muzzle. ”The name’s Thor. I’ve seen you around the park a few times. Got a name?” Thor looked at the brute with hard, bold eyes, awaiting an answer.

His head snapped up at the sound of paw steps, eyes narrowing as he caught sight of Thor. He'd heard about the other dog, both negative and positive, but had decided to withhold judgment. Matrok stayed silent for a time, looking over the other brute with a raised brow. Both impressed and unimpressed. "Matrok." He said in a monotone voice, before returning to his grooming none too rudely dismissing the other male. Matrok didn't see the male as a threat, whether that was a mistake or not remained to be seen.

Mutt - Female - 4 years - Pet
Location: The Park - Tags: Open

She was quick to hunt down the toy, this particular toy had an artificial rabbit scent sprayed on it. So this was both training and play for Ilsu, something the canid appreciated. Gripping the toy in her mouth, Ilsu darted back to her owner, tail wagging wildly. The lass barked happily when she got a pat from her owner and the treat inside. The two repeated this process a few more times before Ilsu's owner got up and said," Okay girl, I'll be back in a few hours to check on you. Be good, or no more treats for a week." The human left, leaving Ilsu standing there with a betrayed look on her face. "But I'm always a good girl!" She snorted, even I know that's a lie.
