@ ZELYes. Especially the Moonswirl Bunny - CEG comparison hit me really hard.
The thing is, what do we do now?
There are many different opinions on what should be done and it all leads to different outcomes.
Leave it as it is now?- well, if we're looking at trading higher value pets at the moment, it's just a real mess.
Few people that still understand what's going on (and have the fodder to get such high demand pets) are gathering the rarest pieces of pets to auction them off or even trade them down for even larger quantities of pets, whilst the demand rockets higher than the Burj Khalifa
(I will never apologize for bad jokes).
We don't even know how we got there but the old list placements are so deeply engraved into CS's trading community, that even the last large rarity update couldn't manage to crumble the post it stands on.
It has now become impossible to actively trade pets that have "bad demand" without ridiculous underpay
(eg. I could rather swap my Dogtag for a Nontag than trade up for a Moonswirl, although rarity wise, the Dogtag and Moonswirl only turned OMGSR and back a month apart /
thanks to Aurora Storm! )
Sort the mess aka. rebuild the list?- many members of CS strongly rebel against this option, simply because it would mean a whole new turn of trading ecstasy once it's finished and accepted. It would take years anyway and who is to say that it will be accepted?
I remember that one major idea behind killing the list was to support newer and a larger variety of trading models, so that it would eventually even out and return to normal (if we even know what "normal" is). However everything is so unpredictable and ruthless at the moment, that non-list-traders are hopeless when it comes to trying to trade their new Dec. 18th pets. I would even say that the current situation helps ninja'ing and also impacts the friendliness of the trading community itself as so many are very reluctant to let go and are easier offended if they receive a "bad offer"(which could have been fair, but not an overpay). They could get a better offer after all.
Just by watching what kind of discussions arise and what new ideas come up, I still feel like there is a need to restructure the list?
- I mean, this thread here is a silent cry for help to finally manage demand as it is reducing the fun of trading quite alot at the moment.
- Aurora Storm's rarity project: link shows us the enormous misconception that some pets receive and what their actual worth based on rarity turns is. It actually shows us that our "non" and "sorb" currencies are completely off track as non's aren't worth the same rarity wise and sorbs are closer to nons than really being worth a half or a third of it... (think about the pink one, the other ones might be next).
- Loelya opened up two discussions to keep track of stuff, like the recent demand trades thread link, which kind of shows that nothing really changed, if you compare it to the old list and that there are some pets (which aren't shown there) that sit in a complete grey-zone and no one knows what to do with them. A good example are Grinners or Cake dogs, as no one really likes them and you can't seem to do anything with them at the moment, as they are neither high enough to trade up nor have too little value to be traded down for '09 rares.
- On the Loelya's other thread we debated if it would help to push down the non's value in terms of '09 rares, have a look here: link. It might just sweep the main-lists off their high throne if they were a bit more approachable by base values (if one manages to gather as many rares and find someone who'd like to trade down for quantity).
What do we do about this problem? Will we just patiently wait or try to start something?
I just think that at the moment, the waiting does more damange than good...
