Guide to CS Rarities

just going to pop in to say that i’ve been stalking this guide ever since i saw it posted, and i think it’s super cool that we’re getting some factually correct info on pet rarities now with it ^^
i really hope this project gains some traction! demand for some valuable and some not-so-valuable pets is getting pretty crazy now, and it’s nice to have some evidence to pull back our idea of “worth” for those pets.

I think it’s just a matter of you taking the time to keep your thread alive too. Bump it, try to start conversation etc. ^^ it can take time for such info filled threads to click, and takes time for them to stay alive.

I get where you're coming from, I just feel a bit weird about bumping it. I don't want it to seem like I'm shoving it in people's faces as "the new list" y'know, cause that is definitely not my intention.

I mean to be fair I think it's unlikely people will take this a gospel anyway, since demand will always have an effect, but the fact that people will be able to make more informed choices when they're trading is honestly great. I wouldn't be too concerned about people taking this as a new List. C:

same as for aurora... I just don't want to push it into the players. It's better to let it slowly grow into their heads and slowly learn it for following it in the future. ^-^
Sometimes it's hard to see, how these threads are lost on other pages, but it's understandable. It will take some time, than people find this threads and learn to come back. Rarest list was here for so long time. ^-^
I hope that one time, will this threads took as "main" lists for fair trading. ^.^

Love this thread! It’s filled with factual information. It’s easy to see which pets changed rarity and when - something that doesn’t take in demand and instead uses CS’s built-in rarity system to show how it values certain pets. I never knew like half of this info, and I’ve been around since 2008. I think it’ll definitely help people to think about things when they want to trade, which people need to do more of, IMO. Thanks for making this!

That is exactly my intention, so I'm glad you both interpret it that way! I even felt funny about calling them "lists" but.. they are lists lol I don't know how else I could describe them. I just feel like there's so much information on this thread that having it all compiled into a list makes it easier for quick referencing.

So. I have a draft of all the VR pets ordered by rarity, and it's got me shook. I wanted to post it here before I put it on the first page (waiting until after the next rarity update and I need to go through it to triple check everything) and see what y'all's thoughts are on it? The dates are which month the pets turned VR - or release date if they've always been VR.

EDIT 08/08/2020: Since I have seen a few people link to this post I must note that this draft is outdated as new information has been found on some pets and has shifted their placing slightly. The current draft that I am working on is kept up-to-date here but is NOT official or finished! You are more than welcome to continue using this as a resource, however the best source of accurate information until a "list" is officially posted on the front page is the Google spreadsheet Asvoria and I use to record all data. It can be viewed here.

God I know right, that was tough for me to chew too. I keep trying to convince myself the data I have for the CEG and Blue Balloon is incorrect, but I really can't argue with the links I've found (anyone with conflicting research to show otherwise please do point it out to me!). Goes to show how much we just take on board as factual values without really knowing, I guess!
