The Founding of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

A thousand years or more ago,
When I was newly sewn,
There lived four wizards of renown,
Whose names are still well known:
Bold Gryffindor, from wild moor,
Fair Ravenclaw, from glen,
Sweet Hufflepuff, from valley broad,
Shrewd Slytherin, from fen.
They shared a wish, a hope, a dream,
They hatched a daring plan
To educate young sorcerers
Thus Hogwarts School began.

After years of planning and preparation Hogwarts school is finally ready for its first ever year of education. The four good friends have sent by word of mouth, magical message, and owl post invitations to each and every English child of magical blood, including-to Slytherin's dislike- those of Muggle heritage. The four founders are well respected in the magical community, and assurances that they will be attending from witches and wizards across Great Britain flooded the enchanted castle that would serve as school grounds. Too many, in fact, for only the four to handle- though when requested there came a large number of applications for teaching jobs as well. With only one day left before term, Griffindor's enchanted hat was created for the division of students into houses- and Hogwarts school began.

Students Will be Expected to Adhere to the Following Rules:
-No harsh swearing. If in doubt-don't type it.
-No excessive violence, sexual content, or other graphic content.
-Keep to the books as best you can- Animagus, parsletongues, and metamorphmagi(sp?) are rare and a small few will be excepted.
-You can roleplay teachers, but PM me first with their form. The same goes for the founders (aside from Slytherin, who I will be RPing.)
-Helena Ravenclaw (the grey lady), the Bloody Baron (was his real name ever mentioned?), and any children of the founders will be allowed if you ask for permission first.
-There will be no Quidditch just yet.
-When typing OOC use either OOC:-text- ((-text-)) or [-text-].
-No catfights! Things will be much more enjoyable for everyone if we can keep RP arguments to the actual RPing.
-Proper grammar, complete sentences, and posts of at least two lines of text will be expected. Any text talk is unacceptable, even in OOC. We're all old enough to type "you" instead of "u", right?
-No Mary Sues, Gary Sues, or God-modders! If multiple users, myself included, complain of this the character has to go.

Name:Lady Jessamine Harlow.
Age:12
House: Slytherin's.
Description: A thin, fragile looking girl of height far below average. Her skin is the typical pale white of Britain, and her hair a golden brown, whereas her eyes are blue. Jessamine has little muscle to speak of and her complexion bears no sign of ever having completed an honest day's physical work.
Reasons for Attending: Members of as old a wizarding family as any, Jessamine's parents leaped at the chance for her to learn magic under the tutelage of the four greatest wizards of the age. As neither of them was ever all too interested in taking a personal stance in her education, it came as a relief to shove that responsibility onto someone else. Neither they nor she was happy about some of the students being of muggle heritage, but the school was too great an opportunity to pass up. Jessamine, eager not so much for an education as she was for a chance to escape her family, was one of the first to sign up for the school.
Pet:A small Siamese cat, just as haughty as she is.
Parentage: Pure-blood.

Name: James Perlas
Age:17
House: Hufflepuff's
Description: A tall and lean boy with the look of one well accustomed to too much work and too little food. His skin is rough and tanned, with various scars and callouses on his hands and feet. His hair is short and uneven, cut himself with the help of a kitchen knife, and the same black as tar. His eyes, however, are such a light brown they seem nearly golden.
Reasons for Attending: Having formally been a yard servant for a Baron (if anyone chooses to RP the Bloody Baron his will be the family James worked for, assuming medieval lords expected more than a house elf to do their bidding...) he jumped at the chance to learn his own magic and improve his standing in life. Though he has little knowledge and is virtually illiterate he spent most of the Summer after receiving his letter studying up on the basics.
Pet: None.
Parentage: Half-blood.
Wand: 10",Berch wood, Unicorn hair.

Name: Alyss Brynn Cyl (pronounced Alice Brin Sil) aka ABC (her nickname)
Age: 17
House: Ravenclaw
Description: Slender build, but very busty. Long blonde hair that she usually wears in a huge braid. In the braid, it falls to just above the tops of her knees. She has startlingly bright blue eyes with black around the outer edges and splitting the pieces of blue, patterned almost like you're looking inside a lemon or orange. Pale skin that is slightly tanned. Soft face with high cheek bones and apple cheeks, full lower lip and thinner upper, button nose. She has a scar that runs from her collar bone down her chest and ending an inch above her belly button from an accident with a knife when she was smaller.
Reasons for Attending: Alyss grew bored of trying to hid her magic, and it's gotten to the point where she had issues not letting it out.
Pet: Cat, long haired, white with rust-red spots, almost like a white car that got a bit rusty.
Parentage: Half-blood. Her mother was the witch, and her father had to raise Alyss almost all by himself as her mother kept having to disappear.

Name: Charles Lynn [Charlie]
Age: 15
House: Gryffindor
Description: Charlie is tall and lean, with light brown hair and a long nose. His eyes are a deep hazel with a fleck of silver in the left. He wears glasses and dark clothes when he isn't in school robes. His feet are larger than normal, hinting at a growth spurt sometime very soon. He hasn't got it yet, though, and stands at just under 5'4''.
Reasons for Attending: Charlie grew up in the countryside of France, and his parents were never the richest. Although they wanted a good magical education for their son, they never could find anyone to teach him. They themselves only knew practical magic- cleaning, fixing, things like that- but both they and Charlie wanted more. So, when they heard of a school being opened, even so far away as England, they shipped their son off right away. He wants to learn all he can, although having a bit of fun wouldn't be such a bad thing, either. [I realize his last name is not french. I added this later, so forgive me ^^"]
Pet: A black cat with purple eyes named Pounce.
Parentage: Mostly pure, but there's muggle in there as well. Closer to a half-blood, I guess.
Wand: Dragon heartstring, 8 inch, ash.

Name: Malory O'Hara
Age: 17
House: Ravenclaw
Description: Malory is extraordinarily tall, standing at somewhere near five feet eleven inches. Her skin is pale and her hair a fiery red-gold. She has a short nose, upturned just a tiny bit at the tip, beneath sharp green eyes. If one didn't know her, they might say she looks like a hawk. Normally she keeps her hair braided up in three parts- one down her back, and two around the sides of her head, sort of like a crown. She doesn't usually wear it down, because it falls to the middle of her back and would just get in her way. She prefers to wear bright colors, especially green. Any shade of green.
Reasons for Attending: Malory grew up in the very heart of Ireland with her mother, father, and three brothers. None of them- none of her family, even- were witches or wizards, and they were very frightened when Malory began displaying signs of magic at age ten. During this time, of course, women were burned at the stake for being able to read, much less actually do magic. So, as soon as they heard about a school of witchcraft and wizardry, they sent her off and told her never to come home again. Malory stays in England with a distant second cousin or something during the summers, and stays at Hogwarts over Christmas. She misses the rolling green hills of Ireland, and wishes that there was a way to return to the normal life she had before. She still speaks with a bit of an Irish accent, but it's on purpose, to remind people of where she came from.
Pet: A black and white splotched rabbit named Flynn.
Parentage:Mudblood.
Wand: Ten inches, stubborn oak, phoenix feather.
