GooseClan

Their names were Ferretstar and Swiftmoon, and once upon a time, things were simpler. They were just two dumb cats in love, and that was that - none of this clan nonsense to disrupt their peaceful lives. He was a loner and she was a kittypet. They lived happily together and nothing could tear them apart.
Nothing, that is, except a dream from star cats telling them they needed to head to the middle of nowhere and start a clan, "lest their destinies collide and fate come tumbling down," or... Something along those lines, at least.
Ferretstar - known as Dijon at the time - felt a strong inclination towards the shady hollows of the swamplands for some reason. Maybe it was because he was a loner, traveling wherever the wind took him in search of sights to quench his wanderlust. Or maybe it was because of the annoying twolegs that kept trying to "domesticate" him like they'd done to Poppy [Swiftmoon]. Whatever the reason was, the two cats set out on a journey that would change their lives forever.

GooseClan was founded on terms that may seem indescribable to some: Swiftmoon had been caught up in trouble by a fox, and was good as dead until a flock of geese flew off and caused quite the distraction, giving her enough time to escape - and giving Ferretstar a reason to be grateful for the water fowl. These two leaders are a bit elderly, and because of their dual leadership, have split lives: Ferretstar has five and Swiftmoon has four. (It's said that she lost one while fighting off the fox.)
GooseClan's morals are pretty straightforward - as long as there's little to no conflict amongst the clan, everything will be fine. Problems will be solved diplomatically, and they'll go back to their normal, peaceful lives.

But unfortunately, that's never really the case, now, is it?

I would like to request Ferretstar (tom) as my founder. GooseClan's prey consists of vole, frog, squirrel, small fish, big fish, and hare.

PINECLAN

↠ Border Patrol | [ Rowanpelt's patrol tracks the scent of badger and cat, mixing together until each is nearly indistinguishable. The air is eerily quiet, and the cats fear that they may be too late in saving either of the lost cats. Rowanpelt is the first to hear the distant sounds of battle, separating from the patrol without realizing, and he rushes to both Hazelflower's and Cougarfang's aid, leaping on the badger that has the cats cornered. He fights bravely, though it is clear the badger is superior in strength - Rowanpelt has a hard time holding his own as the patrol struggles to catch up. His family reunion with his two daughters is short, as he receives a particularly hard blow from the badger. As the rest of the patrol arrives, the badger is defeated, but the damage done to the cats is irreversible. ]
↠ [ Rowanpelt has given his life for his clan and his family, and unfortunately passes away. Hawknose twisted a paw, and will need x1 moon of rest, though she shouldn't need any herbs. Hazelflower suffered a broken leg, and will need x1 bindweed, x1 stick, x1 poppy seeds, and x3 moons of rest to let it heal properly. Cougarfang has a minor infection that will need x1 chervil, though as long as she has the herb she doesn't need any rest. ]

Season: Green-Leaf
Weather: The days are slowly starting to grow hotter and heat exhaustion will become a thing for your cats. You should be careful sending patrols in the middle of the day. Prey is still abundant as they enjoy the warmth and they need to focus on stuffing themselves for next leaf bare. Predators are also going to be about more and the odds of running into two legs or anything to do with them is rather high.

As you all have may noticed CaC has its very own lineart! The lines were created by the very talented Grey_Hoodie and are being colored in by various other mods, mini mods and the CaC artists. Allowing us to use the lineart for your cats lets us give more unique patterns as we are limited to free to use pictures. If you want your cats to be transferred onto the lineart all you have to do is get in contact with a mod and the team will take care of it.

I have also noticed that a lot of you have not been adding pebbles correctly. Remember, every post you make you get four pebbles automatically. Patrols will sometimes bring back extra pebbles they find as well! Pebbles can be used here at the cac store anytime!

Leopardtuft padded out of the Medicine den, Nightstep had called him in to check his shoulder before going back to regular duties. Now once more he could train Aspenpaw she’s going to be an apprentice for longer than usual, I guess we will do her assessment next moon instead . Leopardtuft padded through camp to find her, when her brown pelt was caught in his gaze he padded over to find Aspenpaw depositing moss into the nursery. Cloverkit leaped onto his pelt holding on to the tuft around his neck. “Shoo get off” Leopardtuft growled, “see he’s no fun, just like you Finchkit no wonder you want him as a mentor” Cloverkit mewed. Tawnyfall gathered her kits and Leopardtuft padded out with Aspenpaw, out to train. When training finished Aspenpaw tagged onto Nettlestars border patrol and Leopardtuft went for a walk. He scented a cat, following it he saw a thick grey pelt and glowing eyes the colour of lavender. She was the most beautiful cat Leopardtuft had ever seen, he knew that he had to talk to her.

POV: Ferretfur
Ferretfur saw Twighaze carefully tiptoe into the nursery, she saw his eyes adjust to the shadowy room and his nose twitch at the milky scents. His head popped back out again and when it came back in she saw him caring the biggest hare she’d ever seen. “Let’s all share” he murmured, Twighaze settled next to Ferretfur and there four kits joined them. Tawnyfall moved over to the other side of the hare, her kits didn’t eat prey yet so they settled at her belly, Duststripe must have heard them chattering because he came over too. Flamepatch was out for a walk but when he came back a small portion was left for him to share with another cat. The day brightened as Sun-high came across them, Fernkit and Silverkit were asleep inside hiding from the heat while Juniperkit and Ripplekit played quietly with Pricklekit. The moment Flamepatch returned from sharing his fresh-kill Tawnyfall and Ferretfur slipped out in order to go for a walk, “it’s a nice day” Ferretfur commented. “Though it’s hot, perhaps we should lay in the shade over there” Tawnyfall suggested pointing at a oak tree a few fox-lengths away from the camp entrance. The queens relaxed there only to be interrupted by two happy shrieks, Cloverkit and Finchkit stood on Tawnyfalls side. “What are you two doing out of camp! You should be with Flamepatch, where’s Pricklekit!” Tawnyfall hissed. “Cloverkit said I was no fun so I had to prove that I was” Finchkit mewed looking at his ginger paws, “sneaking out of camp is not fun, you two are in big trouble” Ferretfur added. The two kittens padded back to camp in between Tawnyfall and Ferretfur. A ginger cat and brown with black tabby stripes really stood out in the mountains. Most of the warriors were grey or black and hunted easily in the mountains, Nettlestar usually made Leopardtuft, Breezestorm, Aspenpaw and Duststripe Hunt in the small portion of forest they had since they all had brown pelts.

Nightstar's POV:
Nightstar padded through the thick forest. It wasn't long before she reached the edge of it. "Why is it so quiet today?" She wondered aloud. As she padded along she notice something weird, a soft rise-and-fall of a mottled shape behind a bush. She sniffed the air and the only other scent than the forest to come to her nose was cat. She blinked her green eyes and approached it. "Hello?" She mewed softly. Suddenly, it's head lifted. She could see it better now, black with some orange dapped along it's back. With green eyes similar to her own, but just not as pale. She looked like the perfect warrior for the clan she was trying to build.

Turtle's POV: (the encountered loner.)
Turtle blinked warily at the stranger as they approached. Her short tail waved in warning. "Wh-who are you?" She stuttered. The stranger stopped, their black fur shining from rays of sun. "I'm Nightstar, you?" Turtle started to back away but only bumped into the hard trunk of the tree behind her. "T-Turtle." She stuttered again. "Turtle." The strange cat repeated. "Well I'm the leader of Fateclan. A clan that hides in the shadows with dark pelts." Turtle looked at her own black paws. Her pelt seemed to flicker with fire along her back. "Well.... I do have dark fur.." She stopped stuttering, feeling braver. "Do you want to join me? Tell me, are you ready to enter the wonders of warrior?" The leader stepped one paw closer, as if she was trying to offer something and Turtle could see it. "Yes." She meowed firmly, putting a paw on Nightstar's.

Nightstar's POV:
Nightstar weaved through the trees she knew so well, wanting to bound ahead but wasn't sure if the loner behind her could keep up. She stopped to look behind her and the cat she now knew as Turtle was almost as fast as her, running ahead. "I can see it!- I think..." Turtle purred. She was going in the right direction. Nightstar ran as fast as she could, beating her by only a few seconds. "You're a fast cat." Nightstar bearly chuckled through breaths. Turtle nodded, but didn't say anything. "We'll wait for my deputy to return." She meowed, regaining breath. "Deputy?" "Second-in-command? Next-in-line?" "Ohhh..." Turtle shuffled her black paws.

Palemoon's POV:
Palemoon's soft paws hit the ground lightly as he stalked what could only be a... Squirrel! He saw it lazing around with a little nut by it's paws. It was about to drift off. He started to move around it, looking for a place to leap from. He saw it, the closest bush, his pale fur could easily be mistaken as harsh sunlight, it was downwind of the squirrel. He slowly crept behind the leaves, his paws quiet and steady. His eyes turned to slits as he focused, his claws just poking out as he prepared to leap. He leaped, his paws outstretched, his claws dug into it's back before it could even turn to see him. He bit the squirrel's neck, killing it. He picked it up gently and as he sped away the only thing left of the squirrel was a scarlet drop of blood.

He arrived at camp and instantly dropped the prey in the pile. "Nice job hunting, but we need more." Meowed Nightstar. "Especially with our... New addition..." Palemood spun around. Spotting the pretty, shy cat in the shadows. He almost just looked past her, but the flick of her tail gave it away. "Oh." He meowed. "Well you might as well..." but Nightstar was ahead of him, already standing there on the rock. "All cats that can fight and hunt 'invisible' gather around the Leaning Rock for a Fateclan meeting." The only cat that needed to shuffle forwards was Turtle, he noticed, who shuffled next to him. Making him feel... nervous for some reason. He was barely listening, trying to push the feeling down. "Turtleshine!" Was the only thing he heard after he successfully pushed it down.

A moon passed-

Palemoon's POV: (still)
Palemoon's eyes were focused on Turtleshine. "U-um it's time for me to send out patrols. Turtleshine, Nightstar and me will go hunting." Suddenly Nightstar spoke up. "I need to visit the moonstone, tonight." Palemoon nodded. "After the patrol you can go. We need prey."

Carrotfur/star, Sandripple, Leafstar/whisker
Carrotfur saw his father stir and rushed to help him stnd on his paws. Sweat was trickling on the brows of the cream tabby as the former leader rasped, "It is done." He then turned to look at his son properly and continued, "Now that my time as leader is done, I would like to go by the name Leafwhisker. It fits me better I believe." Carrotfur nodded numbly and mewed softly, looking down at the crystal-clear water with some trepidation, "I will not let you down." Sandripple meowed from nearby, his tabby pelt illuminated by the unearthly silver glow of moonlight reflected on the pool's surface, "The night draws on, Carrotfur, we haven't much time." Acknowledging the warning with a nod, the ginger deputy took a deep breath, crouched down at the edge of the pool, and drank from the pool, surprised at its crisp, cold taste. He then lay down at the pool's edge and closed his eyes, waiting for StarClan to appear to him in his dreams.

Carrotfur/star
Something felt wrong. He didn't think he would feel this cold. Forcing himself to open just one eye, he let out a sharp gasp and stared wide-eyed at the scene in front of him. He was in the Pine Grove, surrounded by the familiar, sharp-scented needle-bearing trees. The clearing was bathed in the almost-surreal glow of moonlight as the stars above began to dance. Carrotfur continued to stare in awe as the stars began spiraling down from the sky, and eventually, these stars took the shape of starry, glowing cats, some of whom the ginger deputy recognized immediately.

"Mum!"

Whiterose beamed up at him with pride as she mewed, "I am so proud of you for coming this far, Carrotfur." A black tom stepped up beside the former SeaClan warrior and dipped his head, introducing himself, "Greetings, Carrotfur. I am Thornstar, last leader of SeaClan before rogues invaded amd pushed us out, and therefore, your father's direct predecessor. I am sure you would be aware of this, but there has never been an instance where a leader retired in SeaClan, and therefore, the usual ceremony wouod have been led by your immediate predecessor, not me. However, as Leafstar has retired," Thornstar continued, glancing back at the faces of the expectant StarClan cats behind him, "I shall start the leadership ceremony myself."

The first cat that stepped up was a pale ginger tabby tom who looked very similar to Carrotfur's father. The tom tipped his head and meowed, "I am Gorsetail, warrior who turned to the ways of a rogue after the fall of SeaClan. However, I never forgot the ways of the warrior, and I taught my kits to always venerate the stars." He took a deep breath and continued, stepping closer to Carrotfur, "With this life I give you the gift of conviction. Use it to help you make your friends and enemies as needed." With these words, the ginger tabby touched noses with Carrotfur. The SeaClan deputy let out a sharp gasp as hot, searing pain began to radiate from his nose to the rest of his body. It seemed like ages before the pain stopped, and Carrotfur shakily met Gorsetail's gaze... except it wasn't Gorsetail anymore that was standing in front of him.

A pale, fluffy gray she-cat stood before the ginger tabby tom as he recovered from his first life. The she-cat dipped her head in greeting and mewed, "I am Palefrost, medicine cat before the rogues came. I gave my life so that my apprentice, Longwhisker, could run away and save himself." Taking a deep breath the she-cat continued, "With this life I give you the gift of judgment. Use it when you must make difficult decisions - you alone can make them." Again, the pain spread through Carrotfur's body until he thought he would collapse from it, yet he stood his ground. By the time the deputy had recovered, Palefrost was gone.

In the former medicine cat's place was a face Carrotfur recognized instantly with a pang of guilt in his heart. He swallowed and mewed, "Emberwhisker." The former SeaClan warrior smiled and meowed cheerfully, "Hello Carrotfur." The ginger tabby tom looked away guiltily and stammered, "I... I... I'm... sorry, Emberwhisker... I..." The tortoiseshell she-cat interrupted quickly, a glint of annoyance in her yellow eyes, "It wasn't your fault, Carrotfur. I knew you'd been acting. I knew you wouldn't have really worked for that mangy piece of crowfood willingly." "But," Carrotfur protested, staring at Emberwhisker incredulously, "but... it was the same as killing you myself! I didn't stop him-" "If you did," the older cat snapped, frustrated, "there would have been one more to the list of casualties. One your parents would never have recovered from," she emphasized, "so you did the right thing." She continued, a serious tone in her mew now, "I didn't come here to argue with you. Now," she added, looking directly at the ginger-furred deputy, "with this gift I give you the gift of forgiveness. Know when to forgive yourself, Carrotfur. Move on from your past and look toward the future - the Clan is looking up to you to make decisions only you can." The resulting life rushed into Carrotfur just as the other two did; however, there was much less pain attached to it, and a sense of relief and gratefulness filled the ginger tabby as he whispered, "Thank you." Emberwhisker gave the younger cat a small smile before she rejoined the group of waiting StarClan cats.

The fourth cat was also one Carrotfur recognized, as Brightstream, Leafstar's first deputy, stepped out from among the crowd of starry spirits. The tricolored she-cat smiled brightly as the ginger tabby cried out, "Brightstream!" The former deputy meowed, smiling, "You were wonderful, Carrotfur. You deserve the leadership more than anyone else, now that Leafwhisker has retired from the position." The she-cat then became more serious as she continued, "With this life I give you the gift of tireless energy. Use it to help your Clan in its darkest hour." The gift coursed through his veins like white-hot fire, but the pain was soon replaced by the urge to run, to help every Clanmate in any way he could. Panting slightly from the ordeal, Carrotfur looked up, only to see that Brightstream had returned to her place in crowd.

The next cat's distinctively white coat made Carrotfur to burst into tears. He cried, "Whiterose!" and ran to snuggle up against his mother's side like a little kitten. The former warrior and queen wrapped her tail around her son's body as she would have done to him when he was small, and murmured into his ear, "I am so proud of you, son. I want you to know that. One day," she added softly, "you and your father will come to join me in StarClan. But that is not now. You and your father still have duties to perform, and roles to fulfill in the world of the living." Carrotfur and Whiterose then separated, though rather reluctantly in the former's case, as the latter meowed solemnly, "With this life I give you the gift of love. Even the kindest leaders need to know that they are loved in return. Please," she whispered, directing this to her son, "don't forget that." This life came with a pain so intense that Carrotfur's legs buckled from under him. He did not expect it to be so painful, yet it was. And it was then that he knew how fierce the love of a mother for her kits was. He vowed, speaking through his teeth in pain, "I promise, Mum, I will do my absolute hardest." Whiterose nodded and smiled, mewing softly, "I know you will," before taking her place back with the StarClan cats.

The sixth cat's appearance made Carrotfur smile in joy. Honeytuft beamed at the deputy as he purred, "Hello, Carrotfur." Carrotfur meowed warmly, "I'm glad you look so well here in StarClan." The honey-colored tabby tom chuckled loudly and mewed, "My lad, you will too when you join us when it is your time." The tom then leaned in closer and asked in a soft voice, "May I ask you a favor?" "A favor?" The ginger-furred deputy echoed, as Honeytuft nodded. The former medicine cat mewed, "Can you please tell Dappledawn that she shouldn't blame herself for what happened to me. I know that it will be hard for her, but please tell her that I will always guide her in her dreams." Carrotfur promised, "I will, Honeytuft." The brown tabby tom nodded gratefully and mewed, sitting straight, "With this life I give you the gift of wisdom. Use it to tell right from wrong." This life flowed into Carrotfur much gentler than that of Whiterose's, and the ginger-furred deputy smiled, though it still hurt. Honeytuft smiled at him sympathetically before taking his place among the StarClan cats once more.

The next cat to step forward caused Carrotfur to stare in surprise, which turned to warmth, as he recognized the slender figure of Sagefrost, the cat who had turned away from her former mentor and his ways and made a name for herself, standing there, her black-and-white fur bedecked with the brilliant white of stars. Stormfang's former apprentice flashed a confident grin at Carrotfur as she meowed, "Looking great, Carrotfur." "Sagefrost," the ginger-furred deputy replied, smiling at her, "I'm glad to see you again!" The StarClan cat's face fell a little as she replied, "I'm still not hundred percent sure that they made the right choice to let me be here, but I'm glad I'm here too." Cheerfulness returned to the black-and-white she-cat's face as she mewed, "I'm honored to be allowed to give you one of your lives, Carrotfur. What you did, and what you will do, for the sake of SeaClan's prosperity will forever be remembered by your descendants." A solemn look came upon Sagefrost's face as she mewed, "With this life I give you the gift of compassion. Know that kind words will win over brutal actions." With this life returned the searing sensation as Carrotfur let out a hiss of pain. He had been lulled into a sense of false security by Honeytuft's gentle gift, and hadn't been expecting it. As the SeaClan deputy began to recover, the black-and-white she-cat asked hesitantly, "Carrotfur, can you please tell Goshawkflight it was never his fault?" Carrotfur panted as he asked, "What do you mean?" Sagefrost swallowed and explained, "We were mates - Goshawkflight and I - and he had suspected Splashstone from the start. He begged me not to go alone without him, but I didn't listen and this happened." She sighed, "He warned me, but I never listened - if it was anyone's fault, it was mine. I don't want him to suffer because he thinks he contributed to my death... please," the former SeaClan warrior pleaded, pain filling her eyes, "please tell him it wasn't." The SeaClan deputy nodded and meowed firmly, "Of course I will, Sagefrost. I will tell him that." The StarClan she-cat looked very relieved as she murmured, "Thank you," before taking her leave.

The next cat to step up caused Carrotfur cry out in joy, "Brocadeheart!" The young tortoiseshell she-cat purred, "Hello, Carrotfur." The ginger-furred deputy smiled, tears flowing down his cheeks freely, "Oh, Brocadeheart, I missed you so much!" His adopted sister smiled and mewed, "I never stopped watching over you and over the rest of your family." She took a deep breath and mewed solemnly, looking up at her older brother with pride in her eyes, "With this life I give you the gift of conviction. Conviction goes in paw with confidence, Carrotfur. Use this gift to go through with your plans and actions." The life rushed into the ginger tabby like the river during the newleaf rains, and he struggled to stand under the weight he felt on his shoulders. When Carrotfur recovered, Brocadeheart was already gone, with Thornstar standing in her place.

Thornstar, predecessor to Leafstar, dipped his head and meowed, "Again, we are honored to see you here, standing befpre all of StarClan, waiting to received the nine lives of a leader. You are but one life - and two gifts - away from doing so." Taking a short pause, the black tabby tom declared solemnly, "With this life, I give you the gifts of strength and mentorship. Please use them to teach all of your Clanmates the traditions of our Clan, and have the strength to lead your Clan for many moons on end." With that, the former SeaClan leader bent his head to touch noses with Carrotfur, and the ninth - and final - life flowed into the SeaClan deputy's body with the intensity of a forest fire in full blaze. Letting out a barely-contained hiss of pain, the ginger tabby was forced on all four paws as the pain overwhelmed him. Thornstar gave the younger tom a sympathetic look and waited patiently for him to recover.

When Carrotfur did, the clearing was filled with the contented sighs of hundreds of star-pelted spirits. Thornstar's bright orange eyes twinkled even more in pride as he announced loudly, "I hail you by your new name, Carrotstar. Your old life is no more. You have now received the nine lives of a leader, and StarClan grants you the guardianship of SeaClan. Defend it well; care for the young and old; honor your ancestors, the traditions of the Clan, and the Warrior Code; live each life with pride and dignity." With that, the moonlit clearing came to life as the cats of StarClan roared as one:

"Carrotstar! Carrotstar! Carrotstar!"

(The next day)
Carrotstar
Leafwhisker scrambled to his paws as his son stirred. Helping the younger tom to his paws, the cream tabby asked quietly, "Have you received your lives?" His son nodded as he stretched his limbs, "Yes, I did." Carrotstar wanted to tell his father that he had seen Brightstream, Whiterose, Broacdeheart... all of them, yet he knew he couldn't. What went on during a leadership ceremony was strictly confidential, unless a StarClan cat asked for favors - and two had. Taking a deep breath, the ginger tabby continued, forcing a small smile to appear on his lips, "Let's get back to camp, we need to let the Clan know I've received my nine lives." Sandripple smiled and mewed, dipping his head, "Congratulations, Carrotstar. I am honored to serve you."

And I hope to meet your expectations, he thought.

The three SeaClan cats slowly began their trek back to their home in the caves of the cliff by the sea.

(At camp)
Chamomilepaw
The entire Clan was waiting, it seemed like. Chamomilepaw and his siblings were at the very edge of the camp, right at the main entrance. He wanted to go down and greet the three returning cats, but Arumpaw insisted that they'd stay here. A small sigh escaped the young white tom's jaws as he asked aloud, "Are they coming yet?" His mentor (Egretflight)'s voice came from somewhere within the cave proper, "Shush, Chamomilepaw!" Grumbling under his breath, Chamomilepaw turned his gaze back toward the sea.

Then there was a flash of brown and white fur as Ivynose came rushing up the Sea Path. The SeaClan warrior met Chamomilepaw's gaze and nodded. Next to the white tom was his brother Limpetpaw, and he yowled as loudly as he could muster,

"Carrotstar is coming!"

Chamomilepaw felt a snall shudder go through his body. His older brother was now leader. It only seemed like yesterday when the ginger tabby had visited him and his littermates in the nursery - oh. A tear fell from Chamomilepaw's eyes at the thought of his mother. He'd promised his father and his siblings he was going to be strong, that he would not cry.

The white tom shook his head to clear his mind and looked up in time to see Carrotfur - no, he corrected himself, Carrotstar - stopping right in front of him. Taking a deep breath, Chamomilepaw meowed solemnly, meeting the older tom's gaze evenly,

"Carrotstar, welcome back."
