Does anyone else feel like Demand is killing CS?

I think it's easier for people to say things are unfair when they themselves are not benefitting from the way trading is right now. I think that is really what this ALL is about.

You can't say it that easily.
May it apply to some people, it definitely doesn't apply to me.
Honestly? I don't even care about so many in-demand pets (like the warriors, the raven, the Shima LT aso.)
I can't even remember what I traded my Shima for...

And as said above, people can throw stones, but if you had a high demand OMGSR.....would you trade it for an OMGSR rat?
Or would you get what you can for it ?

Just because it is omgsr it doesn't mean it's worth the same.
But you can't just ignore that some pets really get undervalued (and I'm not even talking about rats or so, I talk about Grinners, Pink Septembers, Tribals) just because someone started to say they're worth less.

This thread is made for healthy discussions that should be addressed to help everyone out, and there need not be any stones "thrown' for having an opinion about something that doesn't feel right.

In my opinion, there's no point in saying things are unfair just because you are not benefitting from it. And when you are asked if you were in an advantage to benefit...you say you would, that's contradictory. :)

I have put myself at a disadvantage quite often to help people out, please don't make an assumption about people you don't know. In fact, I know many players who do, but that isn't the point of this topic.

Yes, people do like when their pets are valued, but the issue is when pets have insane demand that only a few can afford.

Again, it's not about pointing fingers, it's about the community as a whole when it comes to demand.

Again, I feel like this topic is largely a discussion and agreement for people who are not benefitting from the current trading system. Not all, but majority.

I don’t think there’s anything necessarily wrong with complaining about a trade system a majority of people don’t benefit from. People argue that you need to work hard to get certain pets, which I agree you should, it’s a game after all, there needs to be challenge. However, as discussed there’s two primary play styles: Playing for value and playing for preference. If you’re a player that simply likes the design of a certain pet, personally I think it shouldn’t take years of someone’s life just to get a pet they’ve wanted. If someone’s actively trying it should take a two years tops, with demand it’s getting ridiculous. Not only that, for newer players it’ll be practically impossible to achieve certain goals, or take an unnecessarily long amount of time, I agree we all want to get the most out of out pets, the problem is some are want to be top players with hoards of amazing pets, some people just want a few cute sparkle dogs. Both ideas of playing are fine, I just think one side shouldn’t have more power over the other when it comes to trading and people shouldn’t be scared to trade with each other. I feel like I just spewed nonsense, especially as a “nobody” player

Perhaps my perspective will change as I’d consider myself still relatively new, and I’m a fairly lax player.

Honestly the observations and opinions being brought up in the thread aren’t just website specific, I think it’s just another aspect of being human. Because of this, I don’t think this is much of a “fixable” problem at all, hence why conversations like these always end up going in circles.

I’m a little ashamed for saying this but it literally took me my entire time at ChickenSmoothie to get the snowflake lion. I had just got it the other day from a gift on Christmas Eve. It’s been my ultimate dreamie since I started, I just was never able to get it.

I tried extremely hard all the way up until 2013, and after four years I just started looking for other pets and took a several periodic hiatus’s within the years (some being really long, I just came back after a year). I mean, I still looked for it, but every offer got cancelled and that’s when I still had old store pets and other rares. My experience was just a little rough trading for it, and I had almost got it a few times, but it just didn’t work out.

If it wasn’t for the generosity of someone else, I would still be hunting it down

With that being said, other people even have more trouble with other pets that are worth way more than the snowflake lion. Especially users who are young, new, don’t have many valuable pets, or don’t get on that often.

True! I just believe in hard work on this site is what makes it enjoyable. Within 3 years of playing I had a UR Tiger, Dogtag, BEG, Rainbow Mane, and a Patchwork. With no hand outs. Which, I did play obsessively LOL, but I set goals and...achieved them and it wasn't really that hard. Even with the List still in place, so really, trading back then was harder. People NOW will completely trade off the List, back then...that wasn'teven really a thing unless you were really offering BULK older rares and VRs. I think new people trading with achievements now have it easier lol.

Demand IS crazy now, I won't deny that. I just have a growing Toxic pup plus '09 VRs and Advent ex-Lists for the Dragoncat PPS. In 2014, I would have got that with a couple true date '09 rares LOL.

I think that the aesthetically prettier pets have high demand because they’re ... well, cute. Like the dragon pps is super cute ! And a lot of people would agree with that (not all but most) and that’s why the demand has skyrocketed ... because it’s a really cute pet and also happens to be a store pet, so aka not easy to find and obtain. Economies have demand and CS is a little miniature economy. Demand fluctuates. Idk. Random thoughts lol
