Nightstar was walking through the forest when she heard a rustle in a bush. She turned her head before a light grey and white shape jumped out and pinned her the cat quickly jumped off. "Sorry my paws lead me here." The tom meowed. Nightstar lifted herself up. "So you jump on me?" She snapped. "I said sorry!" The tom replied. "Anyway I'm Pale, are you a clan cat?" Nightstar studied the tom, was this the cat the one that was sent to her by Starclan? She almost forgot about the question. "Oh! Yes, I am a clan cat. I'm Nightstar, leader of Fateclan." Pale looked excited "Ooh! Can I join, then?" He asked. "Do you know anything about Fateclan" The black and white leader asked. "I don't remember being told but I do." "Then follow me."

When they reached camp Nightstar leaped onto the Leaning Rock. "Pale!" She called, feeling no need to call out 'clan meeting' as Pale was the only other cat in the clan. Pale came forward and looked up. "By the powers of Starclan, I give you your clan name. Pale, from this moment on you will be known as Palemoon. I welcome you as a full warrior of Fateclan. I will assist you with hiding techniques because of your light pelt." She looked down at the newly named warrior and just as she was about to jump down she remembered something. "One more thing." She noticed Palemoon backing away. "Palemoon, step forward." She told him. "I say these words before Starclan, so that the spirits of our warrior ancestors may hear and approve of my choice. The new deputy of Fateclan is Palemoon, as there is no other cat to give this role to."

She jumped down and told the younger cat the duties of a deputy. He jumped up onto the Leaning Rock. Nightstar turned around, waiting for the patrols to be announced. "It's time for me to set out patrols. I will go on a hunting patrol and Nightstar will patrol the borders. Uh, Nightstar dismissed." Nightstar nodded and the two cats headed separate ways for their patrols.

The greenleaf sun is bright and cheery, though it quickly grows to a sweltering heat that the clan cats aren't quite so keen on. Neither, it seems, is the prey, which is less plentiful than in newleaf as the little animals spend much of the daytime hiding from the sun in underground burrows that cats cannot reach. Life goes on though, for greenleaf is still a bustling season full of births and visits from nomads. The clan cats might even find little gifts lying around their territory from a particular nomad called santa claws.

holly woke up with a start. she spun around taking in her senery. she was not in the barn she knew and loved, but was in an evergreen forest. the greenleaf sun shone down, littering the forest floor with pockets of light. where am i? then she remembered. the pond, round and blue like the moon. a trip, and splashing into the water. the spirit cats, who swarmed her. she shuddered, remembering as the shocked her with bolts of pain. wait, do i really have nine lives? they told her about the clans, and how she needed to remake them. and they renamed me hollystar? she shook her head. she would hunt. she needed to clear her head.

hollystar pushed into a small clearing. a stump stood in the middle. long grass grew along one side of the edge of the clearing, and pile of rock stood on the other side. there was a thistle-type bush shoved against a tree. she moved up to it, carving into the plant. inside was a nice space, dry and protected from the elements. this should do. she closed her eyes, hoping that starclan would speak with her. if not, she would try again to contact them at the moonpool. she needed help.

RAVENPAW - TRAINING GROUNDS

"Alright apprentices, huddle up!" As the apprentices nestled around in a semi-circle around Tigersnare, one of them dared to cry out, "Why are you here?" She whipped around, her glare causing the apprentice who had spoken to shrivel up. "I am here on behalf of the expecting Amberwood, who is getting our defense ready in case the rogues decide to attack our nursery. I am not only the respectable senior warrior Lionshade's daughter, I have also been an apprentice not too long ago, and I am as much a mentor as any other warrior here. Are we clear on that?"

"Yes, Tigersnare," the apprentices chorused simultaneously. "Good," she nodded approvingly. "Now then, I am disappointed that many of you have been... failing." She hissed. "Because many of the older apprentices might have their warriorship delayed, some apprentices won't be coming."

There were wails of protest. Ravenpaw's heart sank. Though Dawnscreech had been supportive of her, she had already failed twice and would need to be held back. She felt a lump of fur bump against her hind leg, and she jumped up, bristling. "Aw," Sablepaw mocked. "You'll be an itty bitty apprentice while I'm promoted." She swiped at him, missing by a yard. "Nevermind," he cackled. "You'll be an apprentice forever!"

She flicked her ears back. "Silentstar favors me," she said haughtily. "She'll appoint me deputy when I become a warrior, just you see!" "As if," he snorted back. "Now, now," Deathpaw snapped, smacking both of them. "Listen to Tigersnare." Tigersnare was calling out names. "Only five apprentices may join this time. Aspenpaw, Cobrapaw..."

"It'll be forever until you're a medicine cat," Sablepaw smirked at Deathpaw. "By then, even Ravenpaw would be a warrior!" She narrowed her eyes, but her purr was silky as water. "Don't even try. We both know I'll be coming to the battle too." Ravenpaw tried not to show her devastation. Deathpaw would have been welcome company if she had stayed, but she realized Whiteflurry wouldn't have wanted to join the battle and Deathpaw would've had to go in her stead anyway.

"It's okay, Ravenpaw," a warm voice mewed softly. Inkpaw! She glanced at him shyly. "But you'll be a warrior before me..." What if he decides that she wasn't good enough for him? He shook his head lightly. "I'll just have to wait then." He gazed out across the training grounds at Tigersnare. "Anyway," he added, a bit gloomily. "I won't be going to the battle either. We can keep one another company."

Her eyes lit up at the prospect. "Oh, that would be great!" Deathpaw's head swung around, her eyes crazed. "Are you done yet?" Nervous, Ravenpaw decided to pay better attention, giving an apologetic smile to Inkpaw. He nodded back.

"The following have also been recommended to join us due to rapidly increasing growth and are able to sign up if they wish: Weaselpaw." The beady-eyed apprentice squinted at Tigersnare, then his face lit up with delight as he realized Azureheart must've been happy with his performance. "Goosepaw." Goosepaw was incredulous, batting at his ear, as if not quite sure he heard right. "Foampaw." Foampaw eagerly walked forward, ready to announce her joining the battle. "and... What?" Tigersnare frowned as the mentor whispered the name again in her ear. "Didn't she just fail a session this last moon?"

Ravenpaw's heart skipped a beat. "Ravenpaw, if you wish to delay your warrior ceremony further, you may join." "Yes," she breathed. She saw Dawnscreech giving her a wink in the background before she was whisked off with the other apprentices to discuss what they would do. Still, she saw the dark expression that Inkpaw wore just before Tigersnare ushered everyone off.

"Easy there," Blazingstripe said, using his lame side to prop up the pregnant she-cat as he led her to camp. "We're nearly there, and then Cherrydroplet can look you over."

The she-cat, her belly already swollen with kits, panted as she spoke. "I've...heard good things about healers...my last litter...there were complications...but this one...this one will be safer...with the healer..."

Blazingstripe nodded, though his ear flicked slightly. "We're almost there." he promised "Just walk along this stream aaaaand....we're here."

Easing the she-cat to the ground, Blazingstripe called for Lotusstar, who was watching from the nursery, Daisykit's wide blue eyes peering out from behind her prickling orange and black pelt.

Lotusstar stood, leaving Daisykit in the nursery (obviously trying to eavesdrop). "Greetings." she said, dipping her head to the queen. "I am Lotusstar, leader of Phoenixclan. Who are you?"

The queen shrugged "I've got a lot of different names, hanging around a ton of upwalkers will do that. Most tend to call me Flop."

Lotusstar glanced at the queens ears, which were bent downwards toward her face. "For your....?"

The queen purred "Yup! For my floppy ears."

Lotusstar relaxed slightly. "How can Phoenixclan help you?" The queen smiled "I'd like to join you, for the safety of my kits. My last litter...didn't end well, but I'm hoping for this one to go better. I've heard of clans and their healers...I thought I'd find one to join. Your warrior was the first one I encountered, so I came here."

Lotusstar's tail flicked "Well, you're welcome to join. The nursery is over here, Daisykit is in it now, but he'll soon be old enough to start training, next moon in fact." She nodded her head to the nursery "Would you like to-" was about as far as she got, before Daisykit came bounding out of the nursery, eyes wide and ears pricked high as he chirped "Hi Floppyears! Its awesome to meet you! Are you gonna be a mom? How many kits are you gonna have? Can I play with them? I'm real gentle, Fuzzribbon says so!"

Lotusstar shared an amused glance with the queen, but there was a question in her gaze. The queen looked down at Daisykit with warm eyes, and purred.

Well, at least that settled the name thing.
