Redfur - beach outside clan territory - tags: open!
Redfur awoke to an now familiar feeling of thin air and dirt pressed in all around him. His eyes opened and he began to claw his way until he was met with the light of morning. The red tom grunted and pulled himself out of the collapsed den, shaking off the dirt and sand that coated his pelt. This had been the third time this week his den had collapsed and he was becoming tired of waking to the feeling he had just been buried alive. Redfur let out a small sigh, makeshift dens were fine for a night or two, but they were far from ideal for any sort of long term. He should be moving on soon, his leg was almost healed by now. Granted it was stiff but it was working well enough for him to get by. Redfur padded across the forest to the small freshwater steam and drank, still deep in thought. He should be going, but he didn’t want to, perhaps that was why he kept putting it off. It was nice here, it was relatively safe, there was prey, and most of all he had a friend. Fernsnap had been a life saver in the most literal sense, without her he doubted he’d have lived longer than a week. In truth, thanks to her hunting Redfur was in the best shape he’d probably ever been in, he was lean but no longer sickly or emaciated, his fur was glossy and his thoughts felt clearer than that had for a long time. He hoped she’d be able to come by today but the he knew the warrior was busy. Redfur turned and walked towards the beach. Over the course of the moon he’d gotten surprising good at swimming, it had been the only exercise that allowed him to use his injured forearm with out straining it.
Opalblossom - shore clan camp - tags: Open!
Opalblossom woke up and it took her a few beats to realize she was in the warriors den. It had been almost a moon and it still didn’t feel quiet right. It was too big, too empty. All the scents in here felt stale and she was reminded constantly of all the missing cats as she passed by their nests. It was childish but she missed the apprentice den, it was small but it was cozy and familiar. She hadn’t expected being a warrior to be this lonely, but then again it probably wouldn’t have been if so many cats hadn’t gone missing. Everyone was so on edge lately, she’d been doing her best to stay up beat up the whole situation was starting to weight on the young warrior. Opalblossom stood up, nope, she was not going to let herself sit around and sulk, she was a warrior now and warriors don’t sulk. She began walking toward the entrance of the den before tripping over one of the empty nests with a loud “oomf!” as she tumbled, at least the landing had been softened by moss and feathers. “Um, sorry, just me tripping over a nest again.” She meowed hoping no one was still sleeping. She’d been tripping up a lot lately and the warrior had little scratches all over the place. A small giggle escaped her muzzle as she shook off the feathers and finally exited the den. She had no idea what she looked like the other cats must have become used to seeing her with feathers stuck in her fur from running into nests so often. Opalblossom chuckled to herself as she made her way over to the fresh kill pile, picking up a small mouse and carrying it to a patch of sun. It wasn’t actually that funny but with all that was happening, she was perfectly happy to cling to whatever bit of humor she could find.
Heronclaw - summit clan camp - tags: Open!
Heronclaw returned from her morning hunt with a rabbit caught firmly in her jaws. The warrior had been restless of late, even more so than usual with so many cats missing and their leader ill. She was the only senior warrior left were as shore clan still had quite a few. With everything that had happened she doubted they’d invade but she hated how vulnerable everything felt with so few cats around. Summit clan had been the strongest in the forest, then, in one day most of their strength had just been gone. It had been a whole moon and Heronclaw still hadn’t come to terms with it. At least she hadn’t that close to anyone that had disappeared. They were her clan mates and she still cared about them greatly but Heronclaw had always had trouble getting close to other cats and had already come to terms with the loss of her family years ago. She couldn’t imagine what it must be like for those having to worry over missing, parents, mates, or children. The thought made her shiver. She walked forwards and placed the rabbit in the fresh kill pile, it looked so much smaller than normal, but then again they had less mouths to feed. Heronclaw sat down, looking around camp. She might not be as social as some of the other warriors but it was a comfort to see those that remained up and moving. Their clan might be small now, but it was still a clan to be proud of.
