Sootstar smiles, happy to hear they Dewpelt was good with the idea. But at the mention of him leading the patrol he gave a small chuckle. "I won't be leading the Patrol alone. I'm going to have Nightpaw lead as well. It would be a great way to test her skills. I know she tends to be overwhelmed but I know she can get past that." Sootstar hopes Nightpaw could come over it that is. Putting her in a leading positions with himself might help and if she starting to get anxious about her Dewpelt would be there. Thrushcry is very blunt these days but nonetheless Sootstar see him as a great warrior and he was counting on his aggressiveness to help push Nightpaw as well.
And finally there was Blackbriar, he seem like a good balance between Thrushcry and Dewpelt.

Mothkit fur fluffs up more at the hiss from Amberkit and she silently hisses back. She didn't go much father at the sound of their mother, Goldeneye, scolding the Multicolored kit. She nearly let put a satisfied purr at the mention of him helping the medicine cats once he was made ab Apprentice.

Fadekit could barely hear his brother, but laughs at him when he realizes he couldn't count past three. To be fair he couldn't count that high either, but the fact they were playing hide and seek made the situation amusing.

Still curled up in her nest, Copperlily sighed. Various noises in the camp had woken her up and she knew that her day had begun. Choosing to ignore that fact, the soft brown cat flicked her tail over her paws as she closed her eyes and acted as if she were asleep once more.

Pleasantly surprised, Dewpelt's whiskers twitched as she smiled again. "I like your thinking Sootstar," she purred, then flushed slightly. She decided that she wouldn't inform Nightpaw of the role in the patrol until they were going to leave so then she couldn't get anxious about it. Sitting for another moment, Dewpelt didn't really know what to talk about with Sootstar, but she didn't exactly want to leave him. "So... How have you been?" she asked, a bit tentatively. She didn't know if Sootstar would be willing to talk about anything other than clan matters, so she wondered for a moment why she was even trying. Instead of watching him for an answer, she turned to smoothing down the fur on her face with a paw.

With a long and luxurious stretch, Axel leaped down out of the large tree that he currently resided in. It had been a few days since he had seen any other cats around, but he didn't mind all too much. He was amused to hear of confused, scared, and angry clan cats after his antics in the territory about a moon ago. Making his way across the short distance to the nearby creek. After lapping up a few mouthfuls of the cool water, he kept an eye out for small fish swimming in the gentle current. A few minutes later, he was successful in his quest and ate his reward in fish.

She noticed a tom walking across camp towards the waterhole and approached him. "Good morning, Doeleg. How are you?" Nettlepaw asked since she hadn't spoken to him since his accident. Or since he was made into a warrior.

His eyes widened as he gazed at his mother in shock at her words... the medicine cat den? "I don't want to do medicine cat duty," Amberkit grumbled but kept his mouth shut now so he didn't provoke her. As Goldeneyes groomed him, he noticed Owlkit sticking to her side and glaring at him. He did nothing but send a silent stare back. He couldn't help but glare at Mothkit too. "I don't want to be a medicine cat apprentice either," Amberkit mentioned to Dreamkit and clamped his mouth shut.

Sootstar torn his eyes from Dewpelt, catching himself staring abit and instead what as a little Cedarkit come bounding out of the Nursery, playing a game of Hide and Seek with his Siblings.
With a smile he continues to watch the kit and answers the silver fur warrior next to him. "Things are better. Since the birth of the kits things seem to be abit more... Lively around here."Lively was putting it nicely. Since the kits were born things have been a bit loud around here. But nonetheless Sootstar was happy, he loves seeing Kits in the clan and plans on playing with them from time to time.

Following Sootstar's gaze, Dewpelt purred faintly at the sight of the kits playing games. She watched for a moment. "I believe we are in agreement on that. Just wait until they all become apprentices..." she laughed, her voice warm. The kits did make her a little sad as neither of the litters had fathers and she hoped that they grew up well.

Now that he had gathered the apprentices the tom made his way back through camp towards the patrol warriors waiting for them. His ears flickered as he caught bits of pieces of the apprentice's conversation. He didn't know why they bothered trying to pick their own names, they wouldn't get the final choice anyway. Palebark and Tealsqueak seemed like must more fitting names for their constant chattering as far as he was concerned.
Aspenblaze glanced over towards the high oak to see Sootstar...and Dewpelt. The ginger and white tom frowned for a moment, noting to himself how often he spotted the two together. Dewpelt was becoming less awkward about her attachments to the leader, and frankly less fun to tease-If he was even able to find her on her own to tease her that is. He averted his gaze without making an attempt to greet the two and made his way finally to the others at the entrance. "Ready whenever you are then."He mused with a cool smirk. He turned to look at Blackstreak "I grabbed Tealpaw too, they were in there chattering away." He teased with a small chuckle, putting on his social face for the day.

Luckily for the kits Thrushcry had turned his ears away from them when they had started calling him names and left the nursery. His foul mood was now intensified by Creamflower's comments. The brown and white tabby's fur visibly bristled with anger and frustration. He didn't want some soft queen's pity, he wanted revenge. Things were taking too long, the rogues had begun killing for sport and were scented closer and closer to camp. It was only a matter of time before another attack happened and here they sat playing with the kits and forgetting the dangers.
The compact tom searched the camp for the leader before spotting him on the High oak...with Dewpelt.... flirting yet again. His eyes narrowed into slits and his claws gripped the ground below him. They were no closer to retrieving their homelands and all their leader could do was flirt with she-cats. 'You absolute wet rat!' He cursed at the leader silently. He let a low growl escape from him before he turned and stalked out of camp without another word. It was dangerous yes, but he was tired of waiting. If Sootstar wouldn't act he would, and he would not allow any rogue to escape his claws. He doubted the other warriors would have even noticed his exiting seeing as they were so wrapped up in their selves.

After a while the she-cat finally jumped from her perch to the ground on the other side of her fence. Instantly she perked her ears and became very alert, tentatively taking a few more steps towards the monster path before stopping. She dared not go any further and instead tried to calm herself by scenting the area. It had been a long time since she had left the safety of her yard and she was very aware of the danger. Rogues often passed through here to rummage for scraps and it had only been a few days ago that she had seen a few new faces pass by. She had no intention of running into any of those cats or the clan cats. She made sure to stay close enough to her fence that she could quickly escape if any cats did reveal themselves, she disliked the feeling of being in an unsecured space and wondered how she had used to feel so safe in the forest she had called home. She grunted as she turned her gaze from the monster path and caught the scent of a mouse further down the property lines. She had not needed to hunt in many moons and had not kept up with the act but a slight sense of curiosity began to grow in her as she followed the scent.

Nightpaw was happy when the kit decided to play along with her after all and smiled down at her before nodding at the kit's instructions. The black and white she-cat turned her back to the younger cat and sat down, allowing her tail to lazily swish behind her as she waited. When she thought enough time had passed her let out a meow "Ready," she mused.
It was true this was an attempt at getting the kit distracted from her urge to wander but Nightpaw really was using the time to train. She dug her claws into the ground and swiveled her ears around, trying to sense where the kit was at any given time. She happily waited to see how the kit would approach. It was a bit hard to hear just a single kit amongst the commotion of camp though.

He really didn't know where Fadekit was, so he wandered around and checked by the waterhole near the nursery. There were some bushes, which Cedarkit checked in and found no one.
