Egg in the snow

There is an egg in the snow,
hidden within plain sight.
They all found it,
but left it there,
for the snow was the egg's home.
Two figures of snow guard the egg,
from anyone who would dare steal it.
They sit silently,
waiting for the egg to hatch.
