Spotted growled at Hawk. "I can't believe you, Hawk. Talking to them like that? I wouldn't dare. Don't you remember what Bristlestar did to Rainfur a-"
"I know what she did to our parents, Spotted. Rainfur and Mudtail are dead now, and there's nothing you can do about that. They're dead." Hawk growled before breaking eye contact with her.
Spotted's eyes widened. She felt sudden anger towards him, but she kept her jaws shut.

Snowstorm

Shock washed over Snowpaw as she heard the siblings talk. She felt bad for Spotted having to put up with Hawk’s attitude. That would need to change if he wanted to join. Spotted seemed more kind than Hawk. How does she put up with him? she thought as her expression changed. She felt calm knowing Velvetstar would let Holland join the pack. She didn’t mind if Spotted wanted to join, but Hawk she wasn’t sure how he would get along with the other members of the pack. He wasn’t helping with all the growling.

Narina

Narina quickly jumped on the rabbit that she snuck up on, trapping it under her paws as she killed it quickly before the fast creature could escape. Nari felt proud of her kill as she carried the plump rabbit back to camp.

Entering the camp she looked around before heading to the fresh kill and putting her rabbit down.

Spotted felt as if her heart shattered. Maybe it would be better if he wasn't here...
She shook her head, only to look back at Snowstorm, a look of hurt in the Borzoi/Collie Mix's eyes.

She glanced at Spotted. She looked as if she was hurt. Snowstorm only hoped Velvetstar wasn’t too hard on Hawk. Even if he was acting like a little pup. She hadn’t accused them of anything. Still if she knew what made Hawk so upset maybe talking about it might help. But clearly she wasn’t going to talk now as they were in the presence of Velvetstar.

The she-dog moved away from her brother and closer to Snowstorm. She didn't want to be near him at this point. She once again looked up at the other she-dog.
"All I wanted was to see him again. After we split, I was all alone. I didn't think I'd come back to a brother that doesn't care about anyone anymore", she sniffed. "After our other three siblings died, he left me behind to live a solitary life. I woke up to find his empty nest beside me. I was heartbroken. For moons, I was alone, and now, I don't think I want to see him anymore..."

"I didn't realize I was in the presence of three pups. Do try to use some of that talkativeness to answer my question instead of arguing among yourselves, please," Velvetstar chided lightheartedly through the fur of Holland's neck, regarding the sibling duo. They seemed to be discussing a topic that was rather heavy, but heaviness could always be alleviated with humor. Halfway to her den, she set Holland down, gently, next to the prey pile. Now that she was able to get a better look at him, he looked old enough to be able to dismember his own prey. Just in case he wasn't, though, she set to work, biting down on the bony end of the only remaining deer leg with good pickings left. Setting a huge paw onto the belly to gain purchase, she ripped the leg from the rest of the bulky body with a tearing of muscle and pelt. The sound of the joint holding it to the pelvis shattering punctuated the moment in which the leg came free, dangling in one piece from her jaws. The licking of the blood from her chops was casual, like she hadn't torn something's leg off in front of a puppy. "Help yourself. And that -" she paused to point her sharp muzzle towards the nursery den a little ways from where they stood, "you have all to yourself. I hate being alone, though; the apprentices' den is right next to it, should you want an alternative. If anyone - and I do mean anyone - has a problem with you resting there..." She smiled, showing her fangs to clarify her implication. "Let me know." She wagged her tail encouragingly at him to lessen his nerves, then continued leading the patrol and the captives.

To entertain herself, she started for the entrance of her den, like she'd be leading the group into there. Just before she could step inside, however, she leaped over it and onto the rock acting as an overhang. Tittering quietly to herself, she scanned the terrain behind her den carefully. She pressed a paw down firmly, testing the stability of the rough, tough soil. Good enough for a small den - just enough for one dog. She smirked. She turned around abruptly, facing the group, and bounded forward. She shouldered her way in between the siblings, her flank brushing Spotted's. She eyed the brother inquisitively. "You, my friend, must be the most enthusiastic fellow I've ever met. I bet you'd be a good hunter," she said, voice low and playful, belying her intentions. "If you are as eager to join ShadowPack as, you know, your sister and not you claims, you won't mind proving it. Join me on my patrol, won't you?" The choice was an illusion. Not even waiting for him to reply, she turned her head to look at Spotted. "As for you, I want you to dig a den, right in this spot. Nothing else. Snowstorm, here, is going to be standing vigil tonight, if you happen to get lost. Dig well, because how comfortably you sleep tonight depends on it." She shoved her way free of the bulk of the group. While stepping past Snowstorm, she murmured into the new warrior's ear, "If she wanders, kill her. If she starts acting strangely, inform Needlefang immediately." She swiftly moved past her before she could question the orders, then sat down expectantly as she waited for Hawk to approach. She grinned to herself, anticipating any reason to drive out the irritable male - refusal, questions, maybe even a complaint. Anything to warrant forcing him away.

Spotted heard what she said, but said nothing do to the fear of being attacked. As she started, she gave a look of hatred at Hawk, obviously not wanting him around. Hawk ignored her and turned to Velvetstar.
"I'll join you, then." he stated.

Kill her if she wanders?! That’s barbaric! Snowstorm thought. She gave Spotted an apologetic look. If she could she would help she would. She was good at digging and really wanted to help. “Please don’t wander off. Just dig as fast as you can. You don’t have to be alone. I’ll be your friend. Trust me if you wander off, I have orders to kill you and I do not want to do that. Has your brother always been so...annoying? No offense.” She said wanting to be on more friendly terms with Spotted.

She nodded her head, continuing to dig.
"No offense taken, my friend. Hawk, well, he's been through a lot. I'll tell you the real story..."
As she finished making the den, she noticed a patch of moss about a fox-length from her, which she could make into a nest. Gently, she pulled it up with her claws and put it into the den. After some time, she noticed how well and comfy it looked. She sighed gently and looked up at her friend.
"Hawk and I were born to two former ShadowPack members, Rainfur and Mudtail. After Bristlestar chased them out, they went to the life of a doggiepet. That's when we were born, but it wasn't just us. We had three other siblings: Hailstone, Oleanderpetal, and Jaywing. After the deaths of Rainfur and Mutail, we were taken in by ThunderPack. A few moons passed with nothing bad, until one devastating winter. Hailstone died from greencough, leaving her two pups orphaned. The other two, Oleanderpetal and Jaywing, fatally attacked each other. I can still remember Jaywing's cold glare towards Oleanderpetal when she tried to attack me. Hunger drove her insane, and she lost it, and Jaywing lived to see his own sister kill him."
She paused to sigh softly.
"Anyway, Hawk and I were the only ones left of the siblings, until one night, he mysteriously left. I remember waking up to his cold nest beside me. I was heartbroken. After it all, I eventually left, too. I stayed close to the nearby Twolegplace until I moved closer to ShadowPack, and here I am now."
Unknowingly, she seemed to be crying as she talked. The she-dog cleared her throat, wanting to just cry.
"I thought I'd never see him again, but I did. I was so happy to see him, but I could tell that he wasn't happy to see me. Why? I do not know, but after the way he's just treated me, I don't even want to look at him. I don't even want him near me..."
