Hawk went to snap at the others but was stopped by Spotted. She sighed and looked at little Holland. He's just an adorable little furball who shouldn't be caught in the middle of this.
Suddenly, she felt anger towards her brother. He should know not to talk like that to elders. "Hawk, please..."
"Why should I, Spotted? They are accusing us of planning an ambush! I won't stand down and let them accuse us.", he growled.
She just remained silent, bearing the yelling.

“I don’t think it is wise to talk like that.” Snowstorm pointed out calmly. She wondered what Velvetstar had in mind for these two.

Marina stared down the two for a minute the averted her eyes to the pup, her heart melted for the pup as she felt bad. “Poor guy has to see how this plays out”
She thought, the only thing holding her back from snapping at the elder was her respect, she didn’t like that he tried to scared the defenceless pup. “Don’t toy with him like that.” She said to the elder with a hint of malice.

Dawnpaw nodded, and followed her mentor obediently. The camp smelled of stress and anger; including the faint smell of an out-packer. They were all a blurred mess from where Dawnpaw stood, but she hardly cared; she would hear about what happened for days after this, most likely. Anyways, she had other things on her mind. Dawnpaw walked into the medicine den, faintly hearing Needlefang call for Rive. The hole her mentor had been digging had grown in size, and she could now see the point of it. A place to keep the sick dogs. Of course. But... she couldn't shake the nagging thought from her head. There was something disturbing her, about the vision. It sounded like sickness... it said sickness... but I remember Needlefang once said visions and prophecies can also be metaphorical. An incurable disease... that sounds... terrifying. Duskpaw swallowed hard, and took a sip of water.

She flicked her erect ear in amusement and said, voice higher-pitched with disdainfully insincere enthusiasm, "Okay. Good job; you answered half the question! Can I have some names now, like I already asked?" The wolfdog's attention was caught by the tiny medicine dog as she crept between Velvetstar's bulky forepaws, whispering up to her some advice. Velvetstar lowered her eyes to her in subtle acknowledgement, then looked at the mouthy male intruder. Her grin only grew. For fun, she paced around to the side of the intruders and tucked her bushy tail under his chin, saying, "Oooh, are we the irrationally irritable type? How fun." She lowered her tail before he could nip at it, if he was stupid enough to try, and looked the outsiders over one last time with Needlefang's words in mind. She peered over at the elder, Witheredleaf, as he made a comment that she admittedly found entertaining and possibly true - until his aggression became directed at the pup.

Something in Velvetstar snapped. She stepped between the elder and the pup, forcing the former back with her huge frame. Just maintaining that signature smile, she commented silkily, soft enough so that only he could hear, "Oh, don't worry, Witheredleaf; you don't need to try to be cool for everyone! We already know how prone to unreasonable hostility you are." Holding her ground, she glanced at a shivering Holland, closing her smile so that her vicious teeth were hidden. "Don't sweat it, pup. You're too small a morsel to be worth eating." Of course, it was meant to be a joke. However, it suddenly occurred to her after the fact that such a young dog could take it seriously and find it intimidating, so she quickly added, "You're safe."

She looked up from the pup to the two dogs who'd escorted the intruders, Fawnfoot and Snowstorm. Both were stating that the outsiders had come willingly and behaved themselves, but the male was telling her otherwise with how easily riled up he was. She cocked her head thoughtfully at the siblings. Finally, smirking, she replied, "It seems you've been 'vouched' for. Unfortunately, that isn't really enough, now is it?" The female was holding her brother back again, making the wolfdog snicker. "Actually, I reckon I'm starting to like you, at least," she said, addressing the sister. "Well played. Do tell me how you plan on making yourself useful to us, won't you?" With a quiet chuckle, she twisted around, letting the tip of her tail gently swipe the curling muzzle of Witheredleaf, and snatched Holland up by the scruff of his neck without warning. She started towards her own den, flicking her tail up and towards Fawnfoot and Snowstorm to silently signal them to bring the intruders.

After they stated their names, the brother-sister duo followed the Alpha, the sister a bit wary.

Fawnfoot watched Velvetstar's interactions with the intruders. He chuckled to himself, entertained by the alpha's mischievousness. As she picked up Holland and gestured for the intruders to follow, Fawnfoot kept close to Hawkfeather. He didn't trust the male dog as far as he could throw him. Though Spotted seemed diplomatic, Hawk obviously had other ideas. If he was going to join the pack, Fawnfoot would make him omega for a few days just to teach him where he actually stood in the pecking order. The group followed Velvetstar toward her den and Fawnfoot wondered what she was planning. He could always count on Velvetstar to come up with some sort of intricate scheme to keep things interesting.

Snowstorm walked quickly after Velvetstar. Surely she didn’t have time to raise Holland and lead a pack. So many thoughts on her mind, she stayed quiet. Still it was a shame they hadn’t brought prey back. She waited for Velvetstar to speak as she sat down.

Nari huffed and decided to go hunting. Nari noticed the patrol didnt bring prey back so she would atleast get something for the pack.

Heading into the forest she sniffed the air, her ears perked and eyes sharp as she gazed around. Hearing a rustle a few feet away she crept towards it her feet light barely making a sound and her fur blended in well with the dense forest.
