REAPER
Male | Ice/Night/Sand | Assassin | Tags: Sleet
xxxxxx"I'm not," he muttered irritably, half-joking. "Y'know what I think? I think you gotta have more faith than that. You survived fine enough without me prior." Did that make him invaluable? No. Reaper wasn't so insecure as to entertain the notion. But they'd both gotten comfortable with the provider-supporter system. He didn't mind nearly as much as he claimed to complain about. If Sleet would let him, he was willing to dote on him. To a reasonable degree.
xxxxxxHe thought maybe he'd caught wind of some sort of prey animal--a deer, more than likely--but said boyfriend interrupted him. Losing focus for a split second, Reaper shifted his larger frame to address the hybrid in annoyance, but paused as he gazed out in the direction Sleet was gesturing to. Frowning darkly, he let out a low growl. Because of-fricking-COURSE the weather had to be difficult. Their line of work was hard enough as it was. Their employer wanted the target dead within the week. They were low on money, meaning it would be difficult to peddle provisions in a black market located in some scavenger den. Sure, they could hunt, wouldn't go hungry, but that still slowed them down, and Reaper hated leaving things unfinished. Sleet included. Even if he had left him alive, in the end. Best decision of his life.
xxxxxxFurrowing his brow, Reaper went silent for a moment, cogs in his head turning. "What would you reckon? Do we take the long way round?" Swimming wasn't exactly his forte. If the storm downed the two of them, that might be a sticky situation.
Muskellunge
Male | MudWing | Miner | Tags: Open
xxxxxxTheir overseer hadn't been kind about letting their subsection sleep in today. Muskie had awoken to the sound of nails on a chalkboard, sirens raising to a shrill cry, letting the whole damn faction know that they had to get their asses up. Opening one blue eye blearily, Muskie glanced around, attempting to locate the rest of his siblings through the haze. All five of his brothers had dogpiled into a single mud pit, while his favorite sister, Bullfrog, yawned against him. Mumbling cusses under his breath, Muskie reluctantly raised his head from the mud, the very action taking each bit of strength. They'd worked overtime yesterday in order to hit their quota, and though today would be easier, his muscles ached.
xxxxxxShaking out his wings, his talons grabbed at the grass, hauling the rest of his bulk out of the swamp and onto squishy land. Mud slid off his warm scales in globs, which felt amazing, but he took care to make sure the rest of his siblings were getting up with him. God, he didn't want to head back down there again. He couldn't stand their overseer, a snappy, stout NightWing named Earthshaker or something. Chasmbreaker? He didn't care enough. He got off on punishing him for dumb crap. Muskellunge couldn't spend his break how he wanted to, apparently. Conversing with some of the other girls? No. Absolutely not allowed. For whatever reason. He's just snappy. Only girl who's ever loved him is his mother.
xxxxxxHe DID need to cool it with the disrespect, though. His brother, Bullhead, was as stupid as they came, but even he had the sense to obey the overseer. Whatever. He didn't care enough. He'd find a way around the system someday. If the rest of his family didn't want to follow in his footsteps, he'd be devastated, but he'd understand such reluctance. You leave and get caught, you die.
xxxxxx"Move out, guys. C'mon. Boss man's gonna have my head if y'all don't get the hell up."
