= F A W N F O O T =
sex; male age; 62 moons rank; warrior breed; shepherd mongrel location; leaving camp tags; open!

Fawnfoot wagged his tail, pleased with the new addition to the warriors of shadow pack. Snowstorm would make a fine young warrior, he was sure of it. Of course, that would be another dog in the warrior's den to hear his pitiful whimpers and whines when his nightmares came while he slept. With luck, Dawnpaw's poppy seeds would help him sleep well and every other dog won't have to deal with his cries. The thought of his nightmares threw Fawnfoot into a sort of depression. His mind began to swirl as he relived the experiences that came back so vividly in his dreams. Quickly, the shepherd warrior got to his feet and made his way out of camp at a trot. Heart thumping so loudly he could feel it in his ears, Fawnfoot broke into a run out of the camp. Where was he going? He had no idea. Anywhere. Somewhere quiet. Barely able to breathe as he ran and panted with anxiety, Fawnfoot felt like the forest was beginning to close in on him. The shadows grew darker and darker around him until his breathing was so labored that he had to stop. Something's chasing me I can feel it, he thought to himself although he knew it was only the anxiety talking. He stood legs shaking underneath him and breaths ragged as he attempted to calm himself. Despite all of Fawnfoot's best efforts to avoid the thoughts of his nightmares, he was launched into a memory he had tried to bury so deeply.
Leafbare had just come. The first round of dropping temperatures froze Fawnpup and his siblings to the bone. No matter how much they huddled together, they could find no warmth from their small bodies nor their mother. Only a few weeks old, Fawnpup could only barely make out his surroundings. Sights and scents and sounds around him were all so unfamiliar. The quietest of his siblings, Fawnpup wobbled his way toward the entrance of the nursing den. The sun couldn't even pierce through the thick clouds hanging low in the sky and the ground was covered in crunchy white stuff. It burnt his tiny paws to be in the white stuff. He felt frigid all the way down to the tip of his tail. The outside world was so interesting though. His first time ever being outside the den and he was all alone to see the beautiful trees and clouds before him. Until a shadow passed over the sky ahead of him. A piercing call made Fawnpup wince and lower his belly to the ground, tail tucked. In a flash, dogs were barking at him and something cold and sharp grabbed him. It pierced his belly and his leg as it lifted him into the sky. Wailing and wiggling, the little pup's heart pounded in his chest. What was happening? Where was this thing taking him? The creature carrying him, took a sharp dive down and cawed again, this time far more angry. Fawnpup turned to see a dog grabbing hold of the feathered animal that held the puppy in its talons. It quickly released Fawnpup and wriggled free of the dog holding its wing. The creature shot into the sky and circled the camp, eyeing Fawnpup closely. The poor pup lay on the ground, frozen and terrified. His mother came rushing out to get him, snapping onto his scruff and rushing his bleeding little body to the medicine dog den.
Fawnfoot collapsed, landing on a few twigs but he didn't notice. His body felt numb and his eyes couldn't focus. Head swimming with exhaustion and confusion, he lay there shaking for what seemed like hours. Chest lifting and falling rapidly, Fawnfoot's breathing was slowly beginning to balance out. Good thing he had left camp and nobody had to see him this way.

Snowstorm

She dog| Siberian Husky| 12 moons|Tag: Flowerpetal

“You know, as beta you need your strength. I’ll make sure not to eat too much. And I’ll bring you back a rabbit.” Snowstorm said. If Flowerpetal wouldn’t join her she still insisted on bringing the beta something to eat. Snowstorm then went to the pile of prey they had and started gnawing on a rabbit. I’m a warrior. Standing vigil shouldn’t be so hard. She thought. The meat of the rabbit was filling. Under normal circumstances Snowstorm would eat something smaller. But the night would be long with no sleep.

Rive
58 Moons
Chihuahua Mix
ShadowPack
Omega
With Thornheart

Rive had already swallowed a bite or two of her squirrel by the time Thornheart had finished musing about the passage of time in ShadowClan. Personally, the omega preferred not to think about it, but she had to admit that Thornheart had a point. She had been around for enough seasons to be able to look back on her memories of warriors before they were ever born. It made her feel somewhat ashamed of herself to consider how dogs half her age had done twice as much with their lives. Thus, she was quick to move to a more optimistic distraction.
"Now that you mention it, I don't think I've ever asked you before. How'd you get your name, Thornheart?"
This was bound to be a good story, and it would go well with a quick squirrel dinner.

Thornheart
♀| 216 Moons | Shadowpack | No romance | Elder | Location: In front of Elder's Den | Tags: All

Thornheart smiled. "Let's see... my mother waited to name us pups for the longest of times, because she wanted names that truly fit us. I was the last of my siblings to receive a name, and I was almost two moons old. I had wanted to be named Bearpup or Badgerpup, but my mother refused, see. She didn't want her pups being named after something that could very well eat them." Thornheart chuckled, thinking of how annoyed she had been at such a young age. "Well, I wanted more than anything to get out into the forest, to be a warrior, hunting and fighting. Well, mostly hunting. Then one day I snuck out of camp. I didn't go far, as I had some brains between my ears, and didn't want to get lost. Well, I wandered around a bit, never did catch anything, then felt something stab into my paw. I was scared, and I limped back to camp. My mother knew instantly that I was hurt, and feared the worst. The medicine dog looked at my paw and couldn't figure out what was wrong, nor could any other dog. Then one night, my mother was licking my paw, and she pulled out the biggest thorn you had ever seen. It had been buried in my paw, see, that's why no one ever found it. And then, the next night, I asked her to name me Thornpup, and she agreed. When I was becoming a warrior, my leader explained to me, in private, why he chose heart. He said that because I take other dogs' thorns, or injuries, to heart, and try to help them. He also said that it was because one dog's hurt affected me as well, because I cared. I couldn't have been more thrilled with this name, and, personally, I am quite glad I was not named Bearpup. As a warrior, it was clear that I excelled in hunting, not fighting, and I avoided violence at all cost. I never did go for the big prey, such as deer, and I was never the one to join patrols in driving pup-eaters off. I was just Thornheart, the dog that supplied the preypile with at least five rats a day." Thornheart closed her eyes, finishing the story. It was fascinating how it all just came back when she talked about it. It was almost as if she had been named Thornpup the past moon, and Thornheart the previous day.

Holland--Pup--4 moons old--Male--Deaf--Tags: None

Holland yipped as his mother placed him next to some gorse. "Where you going, momma?" Holland cocked his head to one side. "I'm... going to get some rabbit, Holland. I'll be back soon." She lied as she nuzzled Holland's nose. "Just remember, my sweet Holland, I'll always be with you.". She trotted off, leaving Holland near the gorse bush. He looked at the dark pine trees and shuttered. "Why did momma leave me here?" He cocked his head to one side.

Snowstorm

She dog| Siberian Husky| 12 moons|Tag: Holland

Snowstorm slipped out of the camp after having her fill of prey. She was going to wash her meal down with some water. Something caught her eye in a gorse bush. She didn’t know what to expect. Her thirst forgotten she walked over to it to find a kit hiding in the bush.

“Hello there little one. Why are you out here all alone?” She asked, wondering why the mother of this pup just left him in the bush to freeze. “Where is your mother?” She asked in a friendly tone so the pup had little reason to fear her.

"WHAT?" Holland cocked his head again to one side when he saw the husky. Usually, his mother would speak up so he could hear her, but maybe this dog didn't know she had to do that. "Could you speak up?" He asked.

“Oh I’m sorry to frighten you. But why are you out here all alone? Where is your mother?” Snowstorm spoke up. “My name is Snowstorm. What is yours? She added, being sure to speak up so the pup could hear her. Was he...a bit deaf? The thought made her want to take the pup back to camp.

"I don't know where momma went." Holland shrugged. "I forgot what she said.".

“Well you could come with me and wait for her. You would be safe and warm in our pack.” Snowstorm offered. It seemed better than waiting in the bush. She only hoped the pack wouldn’t mind having Holland stay. “What is your name?” She asked.
