Facts!

Delra's Christmas is called the "Solstice holidays". December 25th is the day, just like Christmas on Earth.
(It takes place a few days after the real solstice, because now the days are beginning to get longer! The celebration is about the return of light and hope.)
Every province celebrates the winter solstice differently, depending on their unique values.
Severin has the most violent tradition. They gather together and hold massive fights, taking out all the anger and grudges accumulated over the year. That way they can usher in the new year with a clean slate.

Facts!

Even the Uprising celebrates the Solstice holidays!
Rebels are a melting pot of different provincial cultures. They tend to be inclusive, many of them willing to try other provinces' traditions for the season.
The Uprising has its own culture of making up carols relevant to its history and events. One of the popular carols among kids is "Old Frosty Snowden," describing how the Uprising found out the leader of Thrinton was secretly on their side.

Was a grumpy, sullen soul
With a scowling mug and a stare that froze
And an eye scarred by his foe

Facts!

Oneta's solstice traditions are eerie to most outsiders. The province goes quiet for the entire month (not completely silent, just keeping voices down), paying tribute to the past.
Libraries and museums are busier this time of year, but ironically quieter. Frivolous dueling and other violent pastimes are frowned upon during this time.
Onetians decorate sparsely, spending more energy polishing and renewing monuments.
There is a focus on remembrance, from history to lost loved ones. Onetians believe you must understand the past to face the challenges of the present and build a better future.
