Unfortunately, I have some bad news. Due to a series of unexpected events, I don’t think I’ll be able to keep my two cats, Jasper and Bonnie. I’ve had Jasper for nearly four years, and Bonnie for just over one. To say I love these cats with every fiber of my being would be a gross understatement. Since I discovered that I might not be able to keep them, I’ve cried several dozen times. I don’t have time to rehome them, so I’ll most likely have to bring them to the humane society. Although, from what I’ve heard, a lot of bunchers and hoarders target people who personally rehome their pets, so perhaps that’s for the best. I’m worried that the people who adopt my cats might not be good people. Or a buncher will adopt them and then sell them to a lab. Or a hoarder will adopt them. Or some bratty child who will get bored of them after a couple of years. Every horrible outcome is running through my head.
Does anyone have any tips on handling the entire process, or anything? I’m a huge ball or tears and nerves at this point.
That has to be awful
Not everyone is like that, and I'm sure you'd be able to tell who is and isn't when they come to meet your kitties. We had to rehome our cat, Missy, last year and the new owners are very good to her and message us about her every so often with a few pics. If you know any relatives that would want to take them, that would be even better?
I hope everything turns out ok... Sorry I cant help :c

oh i'm so so sorry!!!! i don't know if this is too late but do you live in a neighborhood or maybe apartment complex? if you know anyone nearby, i have friends who've gone door to door asking, and though it can be discouraging it may be worth a try. friends and family too! when i had to give away my brother's cat billie (max went off to college, we had to move and my mom was nervous about getting stuff dirty and scratched up in the new place etc) i was super upset. we found someone fairly quickly though who supplied my family with pictures of her when we asked and in her crate i put her favorite toy. if your cats have separation anxiety (i know athena will run around the entire place like 5 times when i come home from a trip or even a long day) then you could ask if you could send them with something that smells like you (a shirt, pillow case, etc). the best option will be to find someone who can give you wellness updates in the beginning even if they go to do their own thing after some time. but that's not always easy, unfortunately.
at the very least, the humane society has very lovely people, and to say in the fewest words possible, they are humane as their name would suggest. i know you'll miss your cats horribly, but spend some time with them and realize that life goes on and that they will almost definitely find a loving home. give them some pats and treats!!!
i hope the best for you!!! i'm really sorry, that sucks.

Gary neds his xray red by a profto rule out bone cancer. his limp is due to some fraglity in the upper arm. i have to keep him from jum pin. that is hard. we don't know how old he is. he seems to still b enjoying life. but surgries to amputate are a lot to think of and a lot of money . the felines bounce back better from amputating cancerous limbs than a dog. \
but we will see. he could of fracured an old injury. his elbow is tender to squeeze, but i can poke and prod and touch him all over and he dosen't react with a 'ow that hurts"
edit*
Gary is getting his forlimb amputated on Tuesday.
*edit*
he seems to be doing good as a "tripawed". but i feel like I should make him armor to replace a scapula

not asking for medical advice, just stating my concerns.
the other night tiny started drgging her bottom across the living room carpet, something she's never done before, as well as has been constantly licking herself down there. my mom thinks she may have worms and i'm just really worried about her now. i don't even know how she would of gotten worms besides off of percy who is an indoor/outdoor cat so he may have brought a parasite in, yet he's not showing any signs of having something wrong with himself. if he doesn't have worms i don't want tiny to pass them onto him, however my family has never been the best when it comes to keeping the cats separate so quarantining tiny probably won't work. we're hopefully bringing her to the vet tomorrow or wednesday, but i'm just freaking out because i don't want to tiny to have anything wrong with her. my anxiety is just really amping up my worries, making me think that something really bad could happen to the both of them and that we didn't catch this in time. my brain is making me think really bad things about the situation.
i'm sorry this kind of turned into a vent, i'm just really stressing over the whole matter

Means that something there is making her super itchy. Which does sound like it could be worms, yeah. And it could have been on something Percy carried inside, that Tiny could have eaten and Percy hadn't. Or he might have the parasites as well, but at a different stage or not as severe. Either way, it's worth having them both checked out. If Tiny gets treated but Percy is still carrying it, he could just pass it onto Tiny again so its obviously best to make sure they are both parasite free.
It could also be other things, like an infection or allergies or more serious things, but there's no use worrying about it before you've heard from your vet.
