Cash and Griffin's relationship
220 words

The Champion Leader will pick another of the Champions to be his Deputy. This cat will be considered the 2nd highest cat, but will not succeed the Champion Leader, the Leader showing the highest skill will.

Cash chose Griffin as his second in command because while she can't see it and can be nervous showing it, the she cat has a knack for problem solving and making good decisions when it comes to others. He values her input and more often than not will accept her ideas on the rare occasions she brings them to him. The tom always likes to get her opinion on things, knowing he can sometimes forget to see the morel side of things, too busy looking at statistics. He couldn't wish for a better Deputy.

Griffin looks up to Cash. She admires his skill as a leader, convinced she could never even come close to it. While the tom insists the skills are there, she's too unsure and nervous to believe in herself. Knowing how hard things can get, the she cat likes to try her hardest to make sure things are as fair as possible when decisions are made. While she's not an easy one to get close to other cats and trust them, she would feel safe leaving her life in Cash's paws.

Champion Healer
227 words.

Kai is a caring soul who has always had a love of and respect of plants. She is amazed by the almost magical ability they seem to hold. In fact, she cares so deeply for them that she has her own island she tends to, growing and looking after a wide range of plants.
The she cat also cares deeply about all other cats, even ones not in the Clan or that others would cast aside. A strong believer that everyone has the right to life, even those that have committed horrible crimes, she works hard and will never turn down a patient. Loyal and proud, she isn't one to sugarcoat things and can be brutally honest with her friends, but in the kindest way possible.
Mental health is one of the biggest issues she deals with. After struggling with it herself, the she cat makes it her responsibility to talk to, comfort and help are when they're facing emotional problems. She will often set up appointments just to check up on a cat she knows has been struggling, and offer them some heartfelt advice.
All in all, Kai is an optimistic, bubbly and friendly cat, doing all she can to help those around her. She may not be the best at accepting help herself, but her mate is there to make sure she doesn't overwork herself.

Griffin riding a deer as a dare
326 words

Griffin treated it like prey. She kept low and down wind of it, paying attention to where every paw went, things in the surrounding and most importantly, the deer itself. She looked for any signs of what it was thinking. Ears pointed forward, meaning it wasn't expecting danger. She could see a small group of doe a little way deeper into the forest, meaning, since it was a buck, in danger it would run in the opposite direction as to lead it away from his heard. That would be towards the other journeying cats. Perfect.

Knowing it would be dangerous to come from behind (even Kai's herbs would struggle to heal a kick from a deer) and from the front (not only would it see her but those horns are not to be messed with) she decided she might as well go from above. The she cat was still a way off from the deer when she swiftly pulled herself up the trunk of a tree. Planning her route across the most stable branches and ones least likely to shake, Griffin expertly jumped between the branches and made her way across the thicker ones. Finally, she was above the deer. Looking over to check the others were watching, she dropped down.

Landing squarely on it's back, she dug her claws in for grip and the startled creature kicked it's legs out, jumping around on the spot. Griffin clung on, pressed flat against it. When there was a pause in the movement she reached her front paws up and held onto his antlers, pulling his head to the left. With a little pressure on her back paws, the confused animal set off at a sprint, right towards the others. The she cat clung on as it pranced past, the cat's scrambling out the way of its hooves. Just as it reached them she pushed off, landing neatly in front of them with a smile in her face.

Griffin riding a horse
266 words

She paused when she was half way there, taking deep breaths to calm herself. Just pretend they're not there. Focus on the horse. Puffing her chest out half heartedly, she continued on her way, making sure not to be seen. The basic idea was like how she'd gotten on to the deer's back, just with a different approach and a different ending. Simple!

Now only a few tail lengths away from a large black horse with a long white mane, Griffin tensed her muscles. With a powerful kick off the ground, she wrapped her paws in the creature's mane, clinging on with sheathed claws. The animal below her let out a neigh, kicking its back legs out in surprise. However, unlike the deer, once it realized this attacker wasn't hurting them, it went still, turning it's head curiously. When it's eyes were on her, the cat let out a happy prrow and blinked her eyes slowly at it, a sign she'd discovered was peace.

Blinking back, the large creature tilted it's head, unsure of that it's new companion was doing. Settling down on its back, she tapped it with both her paws, and the friendly giant started to move. She then tapped just her left paw down on its shoulder a couple times, and the horse offered it's course so that it was walking left, towards the onlooking cats. However, before it had got to far, she jumped off its back with a thankful meow, and made her way back to the others, leaving the horse to go back to grazing.

"You guys ready to try?"

Clan Meeting
248 words

"All Champions gather round!"

Cash clawed his way up the tree that took root in the center of the camp, sitting himself down on the lowest branch. He looked down as the other five cats responded to his call, pausing their activities and padding over. They sat below him on the short green grass, staring up in interest.

"Now commencing, the first official meeting of FlareClan." The cats below mumbled things in excitement, the feeling of the Clan being a real thing overtaking them. "Quiet please!" Once the hum of chatter died out, the tabby tom nodded. "I believe it's time we go out and search for our first new member of the Clan. Our dens our strong, borders set out, and laws in place. I suggest that our Champion Runner goes out on her first mission! I will accompany you, along with the Champion Fighter. I know I can trust the others to take care of the camp while we're gone."

A cheer of agreement rang in the air. This was it. The moment they'd all been waiting for. A new member.

Axel jumped up in joy, unable to contain his excitement. "I'll set up a nest in the apprentice den!"

"I'll make sure the fresh kill pile is full," Griffin added, paws itching to move.

With a flick of his tail, the Champion Leader ended the meeting. He jumped down to the ground, weaving between the other five members of the Clan. "Alright, let's head out!"

Breeding: Honeybee and Brightgaze
618 words

Brightgaze had known Honeybee was the one for him from the day he first met her, when he was nothing more than a scraggly tom named Breadstick. When the she cat padded into FlareClan, his new home, he felt like it was fate. Once both cats had earned their warrior names, they became mates.

* * * * *

It was a quiet day. The tom woke up early and set about organising the small Clan. Making a mental note to himself that Brackenspot and Griffin were starting to look tired, he padded up to his mate. Glancing up and down, he checked she would be up for a day's work. Yep, he meowed to himself. If anything she looks exciting to work today. "Hey Honeybee, could you join Griffin and Brackenspot with their hunting today?"

"Sure! Before I go, could you do your thing?"

"My thing?" He asked with a pure of amusement. The she cat's silliness and antics never failed to make him smile.

Honeybee rolled her eyes at him, letting out her own giggle. "You know, the thing where you can figure out everything about me!"

Nodding his head, eyes twinkling, the tom studies the she cat closer. Any other cat found it disturbing or unsettling, but his mate would only stare in awe. It only took him a few heart beats, eyes roaming over her body in an attempt to pick out any details that could give things away. Finished his mental list, he nodded in satisfaction. "You didn't sleep particularly well last night, tossing and turning. No, I wasn't awake and saw it, I can tell by how your pelt is ruffled and the fragments of bedding. You've already eaten this morning, rabbit if I'm not mistaken. You're bursting with energy, but even a blind cat would know that. I'm not sure what else to say, seeing as I see you every day and already know you," he finished with a loving blink.

"Yep, that's all right! It wasn't a fully grown rabbit before you call me fat for eating it all-"

Brightgaze was quick to cut her off. "You're not fat Honeybee! You're the prettiest she cat I've ever layed eyes on, how many times do I have to tell you this?"

His mate just let out a loud laugh. "I am though, look at me!" She swiveled her rump so that the tom got a good look at her side.

"Stop saying tha-"

"Just look!"

The tom shut his mouth, and looked back down. Sure enough, his mate's stomach was hanging a little lower than it always had, rather round. "Oh Honeybee, it's not that much different! And it'll only be because you've just eaten," he reassured her, not wanting the she cat to be upset about her appearance.

"You're so dumb sometimes," she teased, flicking him with her tail. "I'm expecting kits!"

It hit Brightgaze like a falling tree branch. The restless night, the growing appetite, the excitement, the obvious roundness. His mate was pregnant, and he'd somehow not noticed. "Oh!" Jumping back into reality, the white cat hopped from paw to paw, eyes twinkling and smile wide. "We're having kits!" Unable to contain his excitement, the tom pranced around his mate in a happy dance. "I'm going to be a father!"

Honeybee let out a last laugh before a purr overtook, showing her happiness. Leaning out to stop the energetic cat, she rubbed up against his side and twined their tails together. "You're so funny Brightgaze, I love you."

Purr mixing with her's in a harmony of pure joy, he licked her ear. "I love you too Honeybee, you always keep me guessing. I know you'll make the best mother there could ever be!"

Patrol
369 words

"Alright Brightgaze, you're up," Sunstream meowed reassuringly. The white tom nodded, glancing quickly over the cats emerging from their dens in the early morning light. Sure, the Clan was small, but in the past moon it had grown a reasonable amount, which meant there was now more cats to organise. A perfect challenge.

Padding over to the Champion Leader's den that lay in the center of the camp, Brightgaze sat patiently beneath it. Cats gathered around quickly, waiting for their tasks. "Okay, I'll lead the border patrol. Flowerdust and Parsleystep, you're with me this morning. Afterwards you'll help Foxtrot with anything he needs doing. Okay?"

Said cats nodded, shuffling off to grab some food before they left. "Okay, hunting. Griffin, you take Brackenspot with you. Hunt around the bright trees today as much as possible."

"Can't I join them?"

Hesitating, the tom glanced at his mate. "You can for a small while, but then I want you back in the nursery resting." Honeybee rolled her eyes, but didn't argue.

"Healer's, it's up to the Champion to decide what you're doing today. That's all, let's head out!"

* * * * *

Brightgaze padded along the riverbed confidently, his sister and friend on his tail. He didn't really understand how the Protectors knew when something was off, but he paused when they stopped and waited for them regardless. As expected, it was relatively uneventful, so the Clanmates filled the time with idle chatter.

"Hey Brightgaze, how long until Honeybee kits?"

Smiling proudly at his sister, the white tom puffed out his chest. "Any day now! I have to admit, I'm so excited!"

Parsleystep chucked, purring regardless. "I'm sure they're going to be fine ki-" the patchy cat paused, sniffing the air. Flowerdust copied his action and the shared a look, confusing Brightgaze.

"What it if? Is something wrong?"

"No, not really," his sister reassured him. "But I scent another cat! What do we do?"

ah, my time to shine! "Right, Parsleystep, you stay here in case it comes back, Flowerdust and I will run back to camp and fetch a patrol to go and find them, check they are okay and see if they are interested in joining. Sound good?"

Every cat nodded in agreement.

Cash and Pigeonhop meeting with StarClan
572 words

Cash stared up at the stars, letting out a sigh that clouded the cold air with his breath. Are you still watching me?

"Hey Sunstream?"

Mentally jerking himself out of his thoughts, the tabby cat turned to see Pigeonhop stood before him, staring at his paws. Dipping his head in greeting, the Champion Leader gestured for the tom to sit beside him. Complying, the grey cat kept his eyes lo ked on the floor. "What's up?"

"It's just... What if I'm not cut out to be a leader? What if we all made the wrong choice? What if you don't even need me?"

"Woah, slow it down. Are you telling me you're worried about the path you've chosen?" The smaller cat nodded awkwardly. "How about we visit the Tree Stump, ask for StarClan's guidance. I was heading over there now anyway."

"Oh, yes please!" Relief and excitement washed over the Healer's face. "Are we leaving now?"

Nodding, Cash stood and padded towards the camp entrance. It wasn't a long walk, and he knew it like the back of his hand. No longer unafraid, he slipped into the river easily and swam across, both cats lost in their own thoughts. When the moon had reached its peak, the two toms were walking confidently over the tree bridge, before coming to a stop atop the large stump that lay in the middle of the lake. It glittered around them, stars twinkling like snowflakes on the water.

Pigeonhop seemed nervous, looking around in awe and uncertainty. "What now?"

"We wait," Cash answered. "See if StarClan is willing to pay us a visit."

The two went back to their silence, staring at the stars above. Cash could feel his heart racing, having not seen his mother since when the Clan was first founded and he received his Warrior name. Would she come? Was he annoying her?

A sudden chill ran through his body like a stream, and his eyes [censored] open. There she was, stars in her pelt. His mother. Pigeonhop gasped, as if he hadn't entirely believed the idea of dead cats coming to visit him.

"Hello Pigeonhop. And Sunstream, it's so good to see you."

Unwilling to let his persona of Champion Leader slip, Cash remained were he was, showing his affection with a warm smile. "Hi Rivermist, it's good to see you to. I was wondering if you could give some insight to Pigeonhop. He's uncertain of his destiny."

Nodding, the she cat turned her attention to the small tom. "What makes you so unsure this isn't the right path to take?"

Staring at his paws yet again, the grey tabby sighed. "It's just, every other cat in the Clan seems so suited to their job, having incredible skill. But me? I knew next to nothing before training. I only wanted to be a healer because-" the tom cut himself off, a blush dusting his cheeks.

A knowing smile on her face, Rivermist dipped her head until it met Pigeonhop's gaze. "Aspiring to be a healer so you can protect those you love is a noble reason, and just as valid as any other cats'. Don't ever doubt that." Eyes wide, the tom nodded, clearly at ease now. "And Sunstream. I will always, always be watching over you and FlareClan. I'm here when you need me."

Both toms thanked the she cat with bright smiles before starting there trek back home, spirits high.

Griffin talking about her past
355 words

, a little backstory," Griffin started. "In my old Clan I only had one 'friend'. She seemed nice enough, and we got along quite well. For a while. She was obsessed with being liked and popular, so when one of the 'cool cats' invited her to join her group, she left me without a second thought. Obviously the cat hurt my friend, that's what they do. She came crying back to me and I accepted her with open arms. End of the situation, right? Wrong. The same thing happened repeatedly. She would leave me and talk behind my back to the other cats, anything to be popular. She even did things that I though we're special to us with them, such as a secret greeting she'd insisted on making up. This is where my story comes in."

The small cat refused to meet the other cats gazes, afraid of that they might think of her confession. Instead, she pushed on in an attempt to change the subject. "I'd recently learnt how to ride horses, and obviously wanted to share it with my only friend. So I taught her how and we rode one together. She loved it! A few days later she'd joined the popular cat again, and of course attempted to ride a horse with her. Sadly I wasn't there to witness it, but as soon as they came back to camp it was obvious what had happened. Both cats had tried to approach the horse from behind, something you should never do."

"Did they get kicked? I hope they did," Axel butted in with an evil grin.

"Guess again."

"Stepped on?"

"Nope. Sadly for them, they were crouched behind the horse right as it made dirt."

As she'd hoped, cats laughed in a shocked amazement, each adding their own input of how horrible it was, and the cats totally deserved it. Griffin laughed along with them, relieved beyond words that no cat was making a big deal over her terrible mistake in friends, because it was something she often got nervous about. She was pretty sure it's where her trust issues came from.
