He listened to the older apprentice shaking his head when she asked about Cedarshine "no I have not seen her today or anyone who is not there right now..." he meowed sighing turning to see his mentor there "well at last my mentor is still there" he meowed jokingly, even if this was far for jokes.

She groomed her pelt, waiting for the patrols to start or come back, whatever did happen when she was still into her warm nest sleeping. Shaking her pelt she looked over to the apprentice's den when most of the younger cats walked out of there, but her own was not one of them, again 'I hope she is not making this a hobby?' she thought sighing.

A salty breeze ruffled Fernsnap's pelt as she thought about Redfur's question. It did sound nice to have company but she wouldn't risk a patrol finding her with an outsider and outside of the shore clan territory. She'd have a hard enough time, the warrior didn't know what her clan would do to Redfur. "No," she shook her head. "You need to rest your leg. You couldn't keep up with me anyway," she smirked, attempting to add a bit of humor back to the situation. She had to leave but she'd be back soon and Redfur would be here waiting. "I'll see you later okay?" she said as she began heading through the dunes.

Silvertail followed his deputy keeping all his senses alert for any sign of the missing cats. He didn't see what all the worry was about anyway. He scampered off all the time on his own and nobody went searching for him. Bearfluff seemed very concerned however and if Silvertail had learned anything living with Summit clan, it was that Bearfluff was rarely wrong. There had to be a reason why these cats would disappear though. "I haven't smelled anything. Not much prey scent either," he noted, coming to stand beside the deputy. Silvertail nodded at Bearfluff's suggestion. "They may have been patrolling the border early this morning and have gotten back to camp." His voice had an optimistic undertone as he tried to sound sure of himself. One thing Silvertail did know for sure was that summit clan cats had disappeared without a trace.

He slowly opened his jaws in a large yawn, pushing himself out of his nest and the den surprisingly
quickly. After a quick look around the camp and an odd feeling there were less cats (which he sho
ok off right after thinking it, they were just asleep, of course!), he padded over to the apprentice
den and searched the six nests for a certain apprentice, and stopped at Hornetpaw, gently nudging
his flank. "Time to train, get your tiny tail up." He meowed quietly.

"Now that I think about it, I haven't really seen Foxwhisper either. Sorry. Crow?" He meo
wed as Birdpaw asked, pushing the crow forward, his own mouth already stuffed. The

Another day without training, this seemed it was going to be. Fernsnap hadn't been around to
train most of yesterday. She almost let out a long sigh, but instead just scrambled out of the
tunnel system and out onto the shore. About a while later she found herself sitting on a rock,
quietly scooping up fish when she could get them while the sun beat on her back and the wav
es lapped at the side of the rock.

Sagepaw started to say something else, but noticed Opalpaw perk up, so he glanced up and saw Tatteredpaw speaking to them. "Oh! Hello Tatteredpaw- yes, I suppose we can't find many cats we usually have seen by now." he was a bit disappointed, though not surprised, when the tom hadn't seen Cedarshine either. He purred at her suggestion, "Yeah, I'll find you whenever I really want to impress Reedstrike!" his whiskers quivered with anticipation and he nodded, "That sounds like a good plan. My ears are better than my nose, though, so I think Opalpaw should help with the tracking." Sagepaw agreed at her clever suggestion to smell her nest. He led the way over to the warrior's den and picked his way around the moss heaps until he caught scent of a familiar woodsy warm. He inhaled lightly, and what met his nose made his tail bristle. "I-It's really stale to me, Opalpaw. She hasn't been in here since last night!" Sagepaw's mew was laced with despair as he made his way over to Flintwhisker's nest, which had the same faint smell. "Flintwhisker's too-" his words cut off as he stuck his nose to the next nest, 'Ah, this is reedstrike's. His scent is stale, yet fresh enough I know he's been here recently.' Stagpaw turned to look at his two denmates. "Something's wrong.. Very wrong." he murmured softly, padding back to the other two. "We can either continue on and still search for them; or we can go let Ripplestar and Reedstrike know."

Bearfluff held back a sigh, and shook his head slowly, "I don't plan on not finding them, so I guess we'll just have to figure that out when we get to it." the large tom's voice was laced with concern, an unusual emotion for the deputy to portray openly. "But don't worry, I'm sure Nettlepaw and the rest are ok." he turned to Silvertail with a grateful nod, "Sorry to be taking time out of your training day, but four cats are better than two, and Stagpaw could use some practice fighting in a pair." Bearfluff shook out his pelt before giving the cats behind him one last look and padding out of camp, his ears twitching at every little noise, and his mouth agape, searching for the scents of his clanmates. He started by following the east border, and when there was no sign of any of the missing cats he led the patrol to the neutral woods territory. To his dismay there were only stale patrol cat, so he paused to give them a break. "This doesn't look good-" he murmured, eye wandering to search for any sign of life amidst the brush and trees. "I suppose we can look along the shoreclan/Summitclan border and then train a bit. Who knows, we may get back to camp and they've returned." Bearfluff tried to force his optimism, but it just made him sound even more doubtful.

Bearfluff nodded at the warriors words, "I noticed that as well, whatever happened, it spooked most of the prey into hiding. The hunting patrols didn't bring back much either." he sank his claws into the hardening earth and stood, giving their apprentices a glance before leading the way to the last border he wanted to check. It wasn't far, and he padded at an even pace so the younger cats wouldn't be too tired to train. The deputy gaped his mouth slightly to search for familar scents when he neared the border, but again, there was nothing that could tell him that the cats missing had been here. He smelled the dawn patrol, heading east towards camp, and becoming staler by the second. "Well, Silvertail, I suppose we should start training. I'll deliver the news to Rabbitstar as soon as we get back and she can decide what the next move it."

Thornbreeze eyed his apprentice, chattering with the others. It seemed to be something more important than hunting and feeding the clan. He sighed, "Tatteredpaw," he mewed, "I'm changing today's plans, I want you to make sure that the elders den is cleaned out," He looked over to the den, "Ryebelly was complaining about it yesterday, when she gets back from wherever she may be, I want it to be sorted out." He glanced over at the other apprentices, "Is something wrong?" he asked, "I don't think you should be snooping around the warriors den".

Stagpaw gazed around the forest. How could any cat be here one day then disappear with no trace the next? He tried to convince himself that they just went on a patrol, he could think about it later, he had to practice his battle moves right now. Turning back to his mentor and the rest of the cats the tom walked forward, it had been a while since he and Jaggedpaw got to train together, "Any specific moves we should be practicing?" the tom asked.

"Yeah I guess so," Silvertail replied to the deputy and turned to his apprentice. In all honesty, he hadn't prepared for what he and Jaggedpaw were going to practice today and he stared rather blankly at the young cat. Quickly, he shook himself out of it. "I want you to practice your lunging. If you're in a fight with a larger cat, sometimes your best bet is to get low and lunge at them from underneath," he said lifting his head to expose his neck and chest.

Creamflower is eating a fish from the fresh-kill pile, savoring the delicious taste. As she scans the clearing, she notices that fewer cats were coming out of the dens than usual, wondering if some of them had to go out for something last night.

At the voice of a friend, he turned his head and smiled at Reedstrike. "Yes, I am thinking about her name," Ripplestar laughed and sighed heavily. "Eventually you'll have to choose names," he reminded his close friend. "Even though I have a couple of lives left, I'm not going to be here forever."

He excused himself from Reedstrike for a moment and approached Creamflower, smiling at her politely. "Good morning, Creamflower. How are you doing? How did you sleep?" Ripplestar asked curiously. However, his gaze drifted away from her when he noticed that she was glancing around camp with an odd expression. "Is something wrong?"

He took a bite out of the tang and chewed thoughtfully as Heatflight spoke, noting that some of the cats weren't hunting. "Maybe... although it's odd to have so many border patrols out," Tinyseal murmured with a frown. It would be really strange if it was true. "Perhaps there's something wrong between us and Summitclan? I can't think of any other reason that there would be so many patrols out right now. But I hope there's nothing serious."

Creamflower hears a voice and turns her head to see it was none other than Ripplestar, smiling. "Good morning Ripplestar!" she greeted warmly. "I am doing good so far and I slept wonderfully last night actually." Upon hearing his last question, her smile fades as she looks at the leader in the eyes. "Ive been noticing there are less cats up and moving today." she said honestly. "Its really strange and it kinda concerns me."

indentThe mention of Summitclan made Heatflight's ear prick and he looked down at his herring, suddenly apprehensive. He did not really care for Summitclan -- they existed and he was civil with them if they were not fighting, but his loyalty would side with Shoreclan any day. He doubted that Ripplestar would cause possible unnecessary trouble with the neighboring clan and he certainly doubted that his clan would not particularly enjoy a tense rivalry. Some Shoreclan cats had friendships with those in Summit. Understandable, he guessed.
indentRealizing he has not responded to Tinyseal, Heatflight straightened out and smiled awkwardly. "Perhaps. I sure hope not, though. There wouldn't be a point unless Nettlepaw got hurt but I don't think that has happened. They treat her good." He puffed out his chest a bit and stared out into the sea again. "Hope whatever it is gets resolved soon. It's too quiet." His eyes rise and scan the camp. He spotted Ripplestar talking with Creamflower. "I assume he already knows or he's getting it now from Creamflower; she's attentive."

indentA frown makes their muzzle drop and they sigh. "Shame. I had a good joke to tell her," Birdpaw settled themselves down and then casts a thoughtful smirk to Flickerpaw. "I've been trying to get her to finally laugh at mine but she's yet to crack. You can probably imagine how that's going." At the notion of food, Birdpaw's tail waves happily and he tucks in the meal.

As they continued grooming, a thought struck them and he looked at Flickerpaw with a curious look. "Wait. What did you mean 'either'? More cats are gone?" Birdpaw looked around the camp as the words left their maw. The camp did seem a bit more barren than usual. "...Huh. Maybe patrols or something else?"
