Atlanta Hunter
Commander of the Phoenix Squad

Atlanta had been serious when she proposed her idea, but admittedly, the idea of an enraged attack-ferret diving down from the skies was kind of hilarious. She imagined the complete bewilderment on the elegant Prince's face as tiny claws slashed at him. It would be some form of poetic justice almost, but Robin was right. It would pose a greater risk to her if the Prince retaliated too harshly.
"That's fair, I wouldn't want you risking danger. Especially since some of Team Alpha have more destructive powers, and could accidentally hit a ferret they don't see." Atlanta looked thoughtful for a moment, then another mediocre idea came to her. "Oh, maybe you could throw things at him? There's bound to be plenty of sticks to choose from. If you want something more useful than sticks, I did bring a capture net in case I had to get involved. You can have it if it helps."

Jen's sudden shift of pace took the waterbender by surprise. He could feel her tension through the grip on his hand, although she wasn't hurting him. Once they'd passed Quinn, Gavotte looked to her in confusion as she muttered under her breath. She seemed seriously annoyed with something.
It all came together when Quinn spoke up. Gavotte froze, lost for a reaction. Confrontation was not his forte, and Gav was afraid that he would accidentally hurt either Jen or Quinn's feelings. The moment passed quickly though, Quinn slinking away towards other teammates. A knot of anxiety twisted in Gavotte's gut. Hopefully neither Quinn nor Jen would take this to heart.
When Jen spoke, it was thankfully neutral. Gavotte didn't need to close his eyes this time to feel the rushing water ahead of them. "We're definitely close to the river," Gavotte spoke, repeating the obvious (Onyx had already heard the water, after all).
"Once we get there, all we'll have to do is follow the water upstream..." He trailed off for a moment, concern creasing his face. They were going to meet the Prince of Delra face-to-face on the battlefield.
"I'm a little worried," He admitted. If Jen hadn't been here, Gavotte would probably be paralyzed with fear. Although she had a fiery temper, her decisive nature was something he deeply appreciated. "Should we maybe stop and plan things out...?"

A wave of relief swept over Ardai as the ever-dependable Aisling emerged by his side. She spoke in a small voice, sounding so vulnerable it made him want to immediately comfort her. The redhead fought the urge to hug, reminding himself Aisling was just acting (and very good at it).
"Ah, I understand completely. I too have heard the reports of suspicious activity in Fivana..." Something visibly shifted in the Onetian's eyes. Were they getting through to him...?
Caleb spoke up then, his voice even calmer than usual as he elaborated on the hoax. Combined with Aisling's timid ruse, his tale about the sick sister appeared to have won the stranger over. He was as emotional as an Onetian could be, placing a hand over his heart in sympathy.
"Oh dear... I am so sorry if I sounded accusatory before." At Caleb's request for guidance to the convenience store, the gentleman nodded cordially with softness and concern in his eyes. "Certainly. Please follow me."
He began to lead the way. Now that the Onetian's back was turned, Ardai glanced at Caleb (and the others) with a confused expression. The prankster wondered what their plan was... did they have one?
"Ah, how rude of me not to introduce myself. My name is Walter Beaumont," Their 'travelling companion' continued to speak. "I have a child around your age,
Justine, you might know them. As for me, I work at the local hospital in the children's unit. I do not recognize your faces from there... so I am assuming you have kept yourself in good health."
They turned onto a street with several restaurants and stores, faint classical music coming from inside. The convenience store was just down the road.
