Eaglepaw gaped at the deer, and was, for once, lost for words; alas, it was not for long. "Wow," he whispered excitedly, watching the deer. "It's so pretty! Look at it's fur, and it's long legs. Wow, it smells so good already..." It was a memory that would last with Eaglepaw forever; he and his mentor, Duskpelt, hiding so close to the deer, and the beauty of the moment. Eaglepaw finally stopped to take a breath, his every sense focused on the animal in front of him, his little tail wagging furiously, but quietly. "How're we gonna catch it, Duskpelt?" he asked quietly, turning to look at his mentor, hope scrawled all over his puppy face.

Emberstorm lightly set her injured paw on the den floor, testing it. "Thank you so much Willowstep! It feels so much better already." She turned to Ashpaw and smiled, "I wasn't paying attention to where I was stepping while hunting."

After resting and watching the camp, he gets up and picks a squirrel from the fresh kill pile and goes back under the tree to eat it. He too had heard the word pups and watched Mouseheart limp over to an area that looked like the med.dog den. He loved pups but he thought better then to go look. The mother would be protective of her little ones and he was a stranger.

Daisypup

Daisypup didn’t want to sleep anymore. She liked watching the pups and keeping them warm. She wanted to be a good big sister to these pups. Even if it meant being in the same den as Mouseheart. It’s not that she thought he was bad. Probably just not ready to accept a strange dog who was new to pack life. Still Daisypup left him alone. She’d rather try to get on his good side.

Lillysnap/Female/23 moons/Omega/Jack Russell x Border Collie/Tags: Open!

The black and white terrier trotted her way through the camp and began sniffing around the fresh kill pile. Lillysnap had been rather excited to meet the new pups but Mouseheart was still in the den and she didn't quite feel up to dealing with her fellow omega. They may have shared their rank but that was the only similarity between the two. Lillysnap sniffed a rabbit and a vole but decided she wasn't all that hungry anyway. She flicked her tail impatiently, desperate for something to do. Being an omega did not fit her. Omegas had no jobs and no importance to the pack except for more mouths to feed. Lillysnap's Border Collie roots made it very difficult to sit still for more than a second. The little mutt growled at herself and threw caution to the wind. Omegas weren't typically supposed to leave the camp for safety reasons but Lillysnap padded toward the nursery and scampered out a small tear in the camp wall. She wanted to be a warrior so she might as well start acting like one. At least she could practice hunting.

He looked at Emberstorm when she answered to his question about what happened "I see...yes maybe you could be more careful when hunting" he said with a smirk, then turned to his mentor "alright...I will take a break then...hmm" he said to her thoughtfully 'now what could I take a nap?' he thought himself.

She stayed still and watched the medicine dog dealing with the Emberstorm's wound "hmm, I think I got my strength back, do you mind if I move to the nursery with my pups?" she asked to Willowstep. She looked at Mouseheart, thinking that she, her pups and Daisypup who was with her could only be their way, her pups were healthy and didn't need medicine dogs anyways.

Willowstep smiled at Emberstorm, ”no problem” she smiled. She watched Ashpaw, nodding and watching him depart from them, before turning to Fallensnow, “um yeah of course, just make sure they stay inside the nursery for a while—if they catch cold they can get ear infections” she told her, smiling. And now it was back to being alone.

Duskpelt looked down at him, admiring the twinge of excitement in his eyes, ”well..it’s more about stealth then speed, because deer are very fast. You see their long tall legs? That allows them to make bigger strides—but we can definitely outrun them, we just have to have the energy” she smiled, slowly creeping to the next bush to grow closer.

Eaglepaw nodded furiously, though he still was a bit fuzzy on how they were going to catch it. Duskpelt is here, and she can catch ANYTHING, he thought happily. He followed her to the next bush, and peeked through the foliage to look at the deer again. It was just so pretty. And, of course, lots of food! he thought. Eaglepaw made sure to stay quiet, however, and had stopped his aimless chattering. He really, really wanted to catch the deer. He tried to position himself into a crouch, like Duskpelt had taught him, but Eaglepaw had the distinct feeling that he wasn't quite doing it right. This did not, however, diminish an ounce of his excitement.
