Some people tend to value 2008 very rares at 2 '09 rares + '10 rare. If you value their pet this way, then it'd be fair.
2014 store pet = 2009 rare
2010 very rare = 2009 rare
2019 store pet = 2010 rare

It's up to you to determine how you personally value each side, and if you're happy with the trade or not.

Unfair to them, their pet is a 2008 very rare.

Technically it'd be fair if they value their pet at 2 '09 rares + '10 rare like most people.
