CAMP ENTRANCE - AZUREHEART

Azureheart approached the black she with a cautious, almost scared look on his face. She was discussing lesson plans with the mentor, maximizing the skills the apprentices learn to prepare for the siege on the rogues. "Silentstar," Azureheart said, his tail flicking. "Silentstar!" he repeated when she went on without listening to him.

"What?" she asked, turning to glare at him. "Aren't you supposed to be on border patrol?" "Y-yes," he stammered, her gaze piecing into him. "Gingersun was ambushed by the badger." This had her up, her claws out and ear twitching. Calmly, she growled, "Thank you. You are dismissed."

He crept away with a sinking feeling in his stomach.

LEADER'S DEN ENTRANCE - SILENTSTAR

"Blackwhisker," Silentstar growled as he entered. "Care to explain?" Blackwhisker immediately got into a defensive position, his fur bristling. "Is this my fault now?" She stalked toward him, her gaze unflinching. "You've let Stumptail now Gingersun die." "I wasn't even in Stumptail's patrol," he retorted. "I trust you!" Silentstar yowled. "I trust you to assemble patrols with the right cats, to make the right choices for me! But time and time again, something happens and someone gets hurt!" "I told you," he hissed back, "I don't and never want to be a leader! Of anything! Stop blaming me and start doing your own dirty work!"

There is a cold silence between the two until their eavesdropper breaks the silence. "Ah," Daffodilhunt exclaimed from the doorway. "The scent of young love! It's not even spring yet!"

MEDICINE CAT DEN - HAZELLEAF

"All set to go," Hazelleaf told Greengaze. "Perfectly healthy." The little kit mewed unhappily, but Greengaze thanked Hazelleaf for the check up and headed back toward the nursery with the new Windkit. Deathkit stalked in, gave a contemptuous look at the little kit, and greeted Hazelleaf with a dip of her head respectfully. "Hello, Hazelleaf."

"Hello, Deathkit," Hazelleaf said to the black kitten, sitting down and giving her a smile. "What bring you here?" "I'm bored," Deathkit complained. "The other kits won't play with me." "And why is that?" Hazelleaf asked, peering down inquisitively at her. "They think I'm too boring."

"You can stay here," the medicine cat purred. From the corner, Whiteflurry growled, "No, you can't." "Whiteflurry!" Hazelleaf reprimanded. "Deathkit can come and go as she pleases." Deathkit shrugged, then changed the topic. "Doveheart's litter and my siblings are going to be apprentices soon." "Oh, that's wonderful!" Hazelleaf gushed as Whiteflurry rolled her eyes. "No, it's not," Deathkit told them. "Every other day Inkkit is going to be all moon-eyed over Ravenkit, and Sablekit is going to be more hyper than ever."

She suddenly glanced up at Hazelleaf with the unblinking yellow eyes of her mother. "Silentstar says that you want me to be the next medicine cat apprentice." Whiteflurry tensed, her ears flicking back. "If you want to," Hazelleaf told her. "Yes, please. Next moon," she told the medicine cats with such a decisive placidity that even Whiteflurry seemed to relunctantly agree to this.

CAMP ENTRANCE - MAPLEWHISKER

"We're going to starve," Maplewhisker told the hunting patrols. "Especially if all we are going to live on is a minnow." "We have so many mouths to feed," Iceheart complained, shaking his pelt free of snow. "The nursery is too full of kits and mothers!" "Aren't two of the litters being dismissed from the nursery next moon?" Lionshade offered, but Wolffang sneered, "Too bad you can't've stayed in there longer." The two started circling and snapping at one another as Maplewhisker remembered they were long rivals from the moment they stepped into LostClan.

"Silentstar will be hunting with us today," Maplewhisker let everyone know, hoping it will distract cats from the tension. "Doesn't she still have to care for her kits?" Stonestripe exclaimed. "They're apprentices soon," Maplewhisker argued. "Daffodilhunt can look after them." Still, cries of protest rang from the clearing. Maplewhisker shook her head free of a throbbing headache, sighing to herself. What an insufferable clan

xxxxxShooting Star, no that’s too long!, Star spent the next few days laying by her flos vitae, occasionally giving it a sharp poke hoping that she would stop feeling her own claws touching the flower. It did not stop, however. Every time without fail she could tell where the flos vitae was touched and how hard it was touched. Star also discovered that pains in certain body parts were connected with specific areas of the flower. If she disturbed the petals, her head would spin, and a headache would appear for the next few hours. The base of the stem connecting to the flower seemed to correlate with her neck and she shudder to think of what would happen if the flos vitae was severed there. The stem itself followed her spine and when she ran a paw down it, she felt a pressure go all the way down her back. Star never could predict where the leaves would touch as each appeared to pick a place at random though it never failed to be uncomfortable. But those were mostly caused by a cat’s conscious intent or a strong wind. Star couldn’t stand where her paws were connected to the flos vitae. She felt every bug and creature crawl over or brush past the very bottom of the stem before it was buried in the dirt. Her paws constantly had a slight tingle with various insects going about their daily life and happening to touch her flos vitae. The first few nights she was brought to tears wanting relief from the insistent prickling, but after days wishing that the forest fire had taken her instead of her brother, the sensation became familiar enough to tune it out the majority of the time.
xxxxxIt had only been one moon since Tenebris had left her here alone with only a flos vitae for company, but it felt like an eternity. Star finally realized the gravity of her situation. No matter how Tenebris phrased this, this wasn’t her second chance at life. How could she comfortably leave her flos vitae to go hunt when a rabbit could trample it without a second thought? As far as Star was concerned, Tenebris cursed her instead of saving her like his sister apparently thought. Subconsciously she sunk her claws into the ground. Whether or not her life was tied to a flower, Star still had claws and now she was reserving them for the siblings that were the cause of her pain!
xxxxx“Excuse me?” A tentative voice caused Star to spin around snarling to come whisker to whisker with a small brown tabby with white spotting and amber eyes. “Are you Tenebris?”
xxxxxStar had never felt so offended in her life. “Tenebris? Do I look like a spirit of the dark?” Her fur bristled. How did this cat know about Tenebris anyway? Is this one of the cats she was supposed to “welcome” to this meadow?
xxxxx“Uh…maybe?” The molly tilted her head. “How am I supposed to know what a spirit of the dark looks like if I never met one before?”
xxxxxThat…that was a valid point. But one other thing gnawed at her mind. “How do you know who Tenebris is if you haven’t met him?” Star asked.
xxxxx“Lumine mentioned him.” She shrugged. “But if you’re not Tenebris, who are you?”
xxxxx“Shooting Star, but I guess I just go by Star.” This was the first time she had said her new name aloud.
xxxxx“Nice to meet you, Star.” The molly smiled. “I’m Aura.”
xxxxx“No, you’re not.” Star automatically corrected. “You need to find your flos vitae before you receive a name.”
xxxxx“Flos vitae?” Thus, ensued a long explanation of the purgatory the two mollies were now trapped in.

xxxxxStar and Aura got along splendidly. They were both young, naïve, and carefree. The presence of another cat distracted Star from constantly watching over her flos vitae though their minds were on Aura’s flos vitae or lack of. The two walked the expanse of the meadow, Aura sniffing every flower cautiously but neither knew how to pinpoint her flos vitae. Eventually, they quit dedicated patrols to finding it and only checked new flower patches when they were already out.
xxxxxHowever, Star was getting rather frustrated as she felt Aura wasn’t pulling her weight. Sure, she would patrol the borders for days but rarely would she take the initiative to sniff out prey to hunt. After Aura watching Star unsuccessfully chase down a rabbit for the umpteenth time, she finally snapped. “I’m glad you’re enjoying the show, but perhaps if you get off your lazy behind, we’d actually have some dinner!”
xxxxxAura looked bewildered. “Well, what do you expect me to do?”
xxxxxStar couldn’t believe her ears. “What do you mean ‘what to do?’ Help me hunt.”
xxxxx“I have never hunted anything in my life.” Aura stated.
xxxxx“What?” Star exclaimed exasperated. “How is that possible? Did you starve?”
xxxxxAura shrugged. “No, I just never had to. I always stumbled upon something to eat.” Star couldn’t find any words for this. Was she expecting Star to continue doing everything for her? She shook her head in disbelief. “Along thunder-paths there would always be some sort of dead prey. A little squished but still edible.” Aura continued. “I never saw a reason to change.”
xxxxx“You’ll need to change living here.” Star grumbled. “You can’t be a mooch.”
xxxxx“No, I don’t think I’ll need to hunt.” Aura said matter-of-factly. “I can take care of ill cats instead. Up-walkers grew all sorts of things in their territories, and I would always experiment with their herbs.”
xxxxx“As long as you hunt something,” Star rolled her eyes. “Whether it be prey or herbs, I don’t care.” Aura nodded, and the two started off in the direction of camp still a bit peeved at the other. As they approached camp Aura veered off towards the east. Scoffing, Star followed close behind. “What are you doing now?” Her voice was curt. She was used to hunting with her brother and this cat not contributing to any food was gnawing at her temper and her stomach.
xxxxx“I don’t know,” Aura weaved around tall patches of grass, nose close to the ground. “But I feel something important is over here.” All of a sudden, she froze, and Star bumped into her.
xxxxx“What is it?” Star craned her neck to see what Aura was staring at. It was a flower; the stem was quite long with little drooping flowers near the top and big leaves on the bottom. “Is this an herb you want?”
xxxxx“Not exactly,” Aura said, “It looks like what I ate before Lumine came to talk to me and brought me here!”
xxxxxStar thought back to what transpired before Tenebris dragged her to this meadow. “Did this…almost kill you?” Before Aura could respond, Star gently placed a paw on one of the plant’s leaves, and Aura skittered sideways with a squeak. “Did you feel that?” Aura nodded alarm spreading on her face. “Then, I think you’ve found your flos vitae.” As Star examined the flower closer, its name popped up in her head. “Atropa belladonna,” Star stated, “Deadly Nightshade.”

xxxxx “Earlier you had scoffed at me surviving off the thunder-path, but it was truly the source of all things life and death.” Aura, now Shade, explained. “My littermates and I were born alongside the thunder-path and also all of them died along the thunder-path. Our meals came from the thunder-path along with injuries. Predators stayed away from the thunder-path for the most part so apart from the actual monsters along the path, it was safer. It was what we traversed every day.
xxxxxBut I wasn’t very fond of spending all of my time by the hard, stone path. There wasn’t anything ever good there, only necessary things for our survival. So, I would run off during the day and explore the fields and forests on either side of the path. I especially enjoyed learning about the different plants dotted around. I found that yarrow soothed my cracked pads from walking along the path and dandelion leaves ease pains. I even bound a loner’s broken leg together with a couple sticks and some reeds!
xxxxxI guess I started to get confident. I was actually helping other loners and strays along my way with various herbs I could scrounge up. I never tested anything on another cat first, though. I always made sure to eat or put a poultice on myself before I tried it on anyone else. I didn’t want to be the reason they would hurt more; I only wanted to help them! Sure enough, I stumble across this beautiful flower with an extremely sweet scent. I couldn’t help myself. If this flower smelled and looked so good, it must help with something, right?
xxxxx Well, I started convulsing a few moments after I ate two berries but after I lost consciousness, I ended up at the edge of a meadow, this meadow. A white cat, almost too white, with the greenest eyes stood in front of me and explained why she had saved me from my own fate. I wasted my potential, she said, and I could put my talents to use elsewhere. She was Lumine, the spirit of light, and her and her brother had taken control of this meadow for some sort of penance experiment.
xxxxxAnd so, I am here.” Shade finished her tale. “And I can stay since I finally found my flos vitae!”

xxxxxStar and Shade started to fall into a more regular routine now that they had come to an unspoken agreement. Star would hunt and make sure their borders were marked, and Shade would collect herbs and continue learning about medicine. Flos vitae not only needed food, Star had decided, they also needed a cat able to heal others’ injuries. Shade also made routine checks to both flos vitaes; if one was looking too dry, she would bring soaked moss to drip water into the soil. If the soil was getting too disturbed and the flos vitae was unsteady, Shade would pat down the dirt around it, careful not to disturb it too much. Luckily with Shade’s knowledge of herbs, she was also a natural for caring for the flos vitaes. Star still visited her flos vitae a couple times a day but nowhere as frequent as before. Life, or whatever they could call this, was starting to become stable.

kishenzi mwezi is an ancient clan, unlike any other, that has graced these lands. they do not follow the holy starclan, nor do
they uphold the traditional warrior code. truthfully, they have very little knowledge of these clans, for strangers of such terr
itories rarely grace the realm of kishenzi mwenzi.

perhaps long ago, the kingdom chased these believers in false-gods away into northern land, where they developed their own
customs and beliefs. Or rather, it was the other way, possibly? Only the great gods in the worlds above could tell, though it
appears they keep such secrets to themselves for now. regardless, the kishenzi are isolated from other groups due to the dan
gers that their climate holds. Venomous creatures lay in each bush, and the open savannah plains are filled with lethal prey
and predators.

the cats of kishenzi are just as dangerous as the lions and hyenas that stalk their territory. they are talented hunters, slinkin
g through the tall grass and disappearing in the brush. they are invisible until the moment they strike; and when they strike,
they kill. these cats are trained to kill and are not unfamiliar with brutal killings of other felines. they have been known to
cause havoc to any other groups that try to claim their land, and while those occurrences are rare, they are always ready.

appearance wise, these cats often reflect the pattern of their wild counterparts. they often take the markings and colouring
of lions, cheetahs, jaguars, servals, and caracals. they are usually sandy or beige coloured, as it blends best with their surro
undings. other colours are accepted though. cats are often lanky with long legs and ears. they are always short-haired. br
eeds like orientals are common.

if possible, i would love to have colour-ins. would it be possible to have a cat that had the same colouring/markings of this
cheetah, with a blind eye with a giant scar running down his face. the other eye would be green. lots of scars would be awe

Weaselstar sat near the entrance of his den. RavenClan wasn’t growing as fast as he would have liked, but he wasn’t necessarily surprised at the lack of new members. Though they never received snow, leaf-bare could bring cold temperatures and some bitter winds. Cats were no doubt seeking shelter if they could, and not many rogues were wandering around the area surrounding the territory. The leader was still hoping some might be out and about. They needed more prey if they wanted to survive, which meant more cats were needed to hunt. Maybe he could send out patrols with a wider radius in hopes of attracting more attention. He was so busy plotting ways to induct more cats that Weaselstar didn’t hear Droserathorn slip silently from his side of the building. “Good morning, Weaselstar.” The shaman meowed. Even though his tone was calm, it still made the leader jump. Droserathorn noticed this and a smirk rose to his face. “Deep in thought.” He observed “What about?” The leader scooted to his right, allowing his companion to join him. “Just about the Clan.” He sighed “I was hoping we’d get more than two warriors by now.” The shaman nodded. “That’s fair. I’m still unsure about Skinknose. She doesn’t seem like she’s well-versed in hunting.” Droserathorn noticed. Weaselstar tilted his head. “I suppose she’s not, but that’ll come with time. Every warrior has to start somewhere.” He assured. Skinknose had wandered into the cemetery a few days ago, in search for shelter behind some of the stones. Kitewhisker had been doing a solo hunt and practically tripped over her. The newcomer was small and stealthy, but also extremely clumsy. She hadn’t talked much to the toms, but she and Kitewhisker seemed to be getting along fine. In fact, Weaselstar realized that the brown she-cat mainly stayed with Kitewhisker in the warriors den. The leader fluffed out his pelt as a small, but cold breeze swirled around them. With the gust came the eerie sound of a squawking bird. Curious, the two toms raised their eyes to the sky. Droserathorn rose to his paws as he saw the brown crow circling overhead. It drifted down and rested on the top of the leader’s den. It cawed loudly at the ginger tom and he nodded. “I forgot to tell you that I’m going to visit the spirits today.” He informed Weaselstar “Last night, I was told to follow the crow and speak with the ancestors.” The leader raised an eyebrow. “Our Clan was formed three moons ago. What ancestors do we have?” He asked. Droserathorn only shrugged. “I’ll find out, I guess.” He meowed “See you tomorrow morning.” The crow burst off the ledge and glided out into the territory. Weaselstar nodded his farewell and Droserathorn followed in the bird’s wake.

The tom’s paws dragged along the ground. His eyelids grew heavy and he was having a hard time keeping his head up. Droserathorn and the bird had traveled far from camp and in all honesty, the shaman wouldn’t know how to get back. The camp was towards the front of the cemetery, but they were going to the back. He knew the territory was big, but he didn’t know it spanned several hills and small groves of trees. The exhaustion of walking and the darkness of the sky above made Droserathorn want to flop down on the nearest bed of moss and sleep forever. He started to close his eyes when the crow screeched loudly above him. His head snapped up and he glared at the bird. “Will you be quiet?” Droserathorn shouted at it “All you have to do is flap your stupid wings. Your feet don’t hurt, and you aren’t tired. When are we stopping?” The bird stopped abruptly and circled around him, perching on a bare tree branch. The tom’s eyes moved tiredly from the bird and to the small hill that loomed before him. Looking at the stones around him, Droserathorn could tell that not many two-legs visited this place. The rounded slabs were cracked and filled with greenery. Moss and vines clung to the stones, and the writing was barely visible. Even though he was still on the verge of collapse, caution filled every hair on the shaman’s pelt as he took a wary step forward. He slowly crept to the foot of the hill, where there was a small tunnel, the perfect size for a cat like himself to wiggle through. He tried to sniff the air that drifted from the opening, but it just smelled cold and clean. A small rustling noise was flowing from the tunnel and he leaned in closer to hear it. Suddenly, the crow called again, shooting a wave of surprise and fear through Droserathorn’s body. After realizing it was only the bird, he scowled at it, muttering curses under his breath. “You really expect me to go into a dark tunnel I’ve never seen before?” He called “You’re an even crazier bird than I thought.” The crow hopped down to meet the cat, bouncing along the ground. It stopped at the tom’s hind paws for a moment, then gave his leg a harsh peck. “Ow!” The shaman cried, leaping away from his companion “If you’re so eager, why don’t you go in?” The bird seemed to roll its eyes, and started to hop into the tunnel. Soon, its glossy black feathers molded with the darkness in the tunnel. After a few heartbeats, Droserathron grew anxious. He took a step closer and pushed his head into the walkway. “Hey bird,” He whispered loudly “Are you dead?” He perked an ear and listened carefully. Another caw rang through the tunnel, echoing against the packed walls. It was a signal that the bird was, in fact, alive. Droserathorn bit the inside of his cheek and stood up straight. The dream did say to follow the bird and his job as a shaman was to listen to the spirits. He sighed heavily and looked over his shoulder. Clenching his jaw, he took a deep breath and stepped inside the tunnel.

The tiredness in Droserathorn’s body was replaced with apprehension and curiosity. His sense of time warped as he padded down the dark tunnel. He could have been walking for three minutes or three hours for all he knew. But eventually, he noticed that the tunnel was becoming wider, and soon he was emerging into a small underground cave. He stepped onto a stone platform, overlooking a small river that divided the cave in half. Above the river, an opening in the top of the cave allowed moonlight to flood through and illuminate the clearing. Droserathorn walked forward in awe, taking in the view of the dazzling stone walls. The stream trickled in front of him as he kept walking. Another harsh cry from the crow startled him. He looked around and found it beside him. Confused, he tilted his head. The crow hopped closer to the edge of the stone. The tom followed it and gazed at the flowing water. Suddenly, he understood that he had to drink from the stream. He didn’t know how he knew, but he decided to follow his gut. He bent down and settled in a comfortable position. He took a deep breath and stretched his neck to reach the water. He lapped at the stream and as soon as the cool liquid met his tongue, he was coaxed into sleep.

Droserathorn opened his eyes. He wasn’t in the cave anymore. Now, he was laying in a black field. It wasn’t empty, it looked like a clearing in a forest. But he didn’t see any of the green vegetation around him. Instead, it was dark and glossy, like the bushes and trees weren’t really there. “That’s because they’re not.” A voice echoed calmly. The tom turned his head, trying to see the speaker. A sleek black cat padded out from behind one of the bushes. “At least not yet. This forest comes alive when you die. After all, this is the home of the spirits.” The bluntness of the speaker made confusion swirl in the shaman’s head. He rose to his paws, but the stranger was already in front of him. “It’s so nice to finally meet you, Droserathorn. I’ve heard a lot about you.” The ginger tom took a slight step back. “I can’t say the same about you.” He murmured cautiously. The cat dipped his head with a smile. “Ah, yes. Unfortunately it can be rather difficult to communicate with you mortals.” He meowed. He flicked his black tail and raised his eyes to meet Droserathorn’s. The piercing red-orange color sent shivers down the shaman’s spine. It was then that he noticed the temperature. It wasn’t warm, but it also wasn’t cold. It felt like an early leaf-fall morning. Crisp, but not unbearable. “Another thing that will change at your death.” The cat smiled “The afterlife is warm and filled with joy, don’t worry, but you do have to be dead to feel all of the effects.” Droserathorn blinked in surprise. “Who are you?” He breathed “How can you hear my thoughts?” The cat shrugged “Oh, I have many labels. But actually, none are right. Things assume I don’t have a normal name, but they’re wrong. Of course, you can’t pronounce my name. It’s not in your language.” He rambled. Droserathorn huffed, blinking expectantly. “Right, well, anyways. You can call me Aita. Oh, and for your thoughts. It’s just a perk of the job, I suppose.” Droserathorn’s mind spun at all of the new information. “Job? What exactly do you do.” Aita shrugged. “Look after your spirits mainly. But now, I look after just your Clan in particular!” He purred, sounding proud of himself. The shaman tilted his head, asking why. “Well, I mean, lots of deities have their own Clans. So, I located Weaselstar and helped him make RavenClan.” The tom took a large step back as Aita grew closer. “No, no!” Aita soothed “Don’t be afraid. Please. I have no ill intentions for you. In fact, just the opposite! I want you to succeed! I want RavenClan to prosper and I want my cats to be happy. Then, when you’ve spent all of your time in the mortal realm, you’ll join me.” The cat swallowed. “S-So you’re like the spirit leader?” Droserathorn asked “You’re our guardian?” Aita hopped swiftly. “Yes! Exactly. I’m like your guardian.” His black pelt rippled with excitement. “I hope you’re okay with that. I mean, having me look after you.” He meowed. Droserathorn felt himself relax. The aura the guardian gave off made him feel safe. He gave the cat a smile. “I’m glad that we have someone to help us.” He dipped his head “If I ever find my way out of this place, I’ll make sure to tell the Clan about you.” His eyes scanned the surrounding area, trying to find an exit route. The iconic sound of the bird crowing pushed its way into his head. He felt himself become groggy and he looked down to see his paws become blurry. “Oh yea, I forgot.” Aita added quickly “If you need something from me, just tell the bird. That’s how I observe you all. Smart things, birds are. Don’t take them for granted.” Droserathorn scoffed. “This bird seems a bit harsh.” Aita smiled. “Yea.” He chuckled “Sorry about Voire. She can be a bit impatient sometimes. She’ll warm up to you, though. Just give it time.” The shaman nodded, noticing that he was starting to fade even more, and he could hear the rushing of the stream. “Nice meeting you, I guess.” He told Aita, dipping his head in farewell. Aita returned his nod and disappeared in a cloud of fog. A moment later, Droserathorn slowly opened his eyes. Sunlight drifted into the cavern and he hadn’t moved an inch. He could tell since his legs were cramped and stiff. The water continued its steady flow next to him. He turned to see the bird and blinked at it. “Voire, is it?” He meowed. It gave a small hop and blinked at him. “Are you going to be nicer to me on the way back home?” The bird just pecked at the ground and turned, leading the shaman out of the cave and back to the campsite.

"Just get out of here, Mena."
The low growl rang in her ears as Mena stared at the tom in front of her. The one who was supposed to be her mate- her lover and friend, no matter what.
"W-what?"
"You heard me! Leave!" His growl turned into a snarl and he swiped at her. Even though his claws were sheathed, Mena reeled back in shock. Feeling defeated, she turned her back to him, and made for the exit.
"Fine. But I'll never forgive you for this, Rider. You're not the cat I thought you were." Hoping that her words left any sort of impact, she shoved through the hole in the fence and bolted away.

Mena ran miserably through the forest, feeling choked up and wanting to collapse. How could he tell her to go, just like that? Had it all been a lie? Didn't he love her?
Apparently not. She thought bitterly with her teeth clenched. She didn't even know what had happened. She had told Rider she was going to bear his kits, and suddenly he had turned into a completely different tom. Shaking her head, Mena carried on. Rider didn't matter now. Now it was just her, and her kits. They didn't need a father- as much as it hurt Mena's heart to think it.
Nightfall came faster than usual, and Mena was exhausted and lost after dashing around so much. She needed to find a sheltered place to rest. Just when she thought she would be entirely alone from now on, a cat made itself known from the shadows- a stunning she-cat with red eyes. She introduced herself as Magnolia and the two quickly became friends, albeit through the sheer desperation for company. To Mena's relief, the companionship did not end there.
Over the next moon and a half Magnolia and Mena travelled together. Their pasts and personality were drastically different, and perhaps that's why they worked so well together as friends. Mena tended to get tripped up with silly, unlucky events and Magnolia was always there to back her up and get her going again. Just when she had thought she'd lost everything, she had made a new best friend.
Eventually it came very close to the time that Mena would give birth- Magnolia predicted it would be any day. Her belly was huge and swung close to the ground, weighing her down as she walked. At this point they had gotten a bit lost in a dense pine forest, but it eventually gave way to a beautiful expanse of bright green trees and clear streams. It was gorgeous, and when the pair came across a Clan of cats that had made their home in the forest, she decided it was the perfect home.
Unfortunately, Magnolia thought otherwise. And it was here that Mena- now Vividgaze after her acceptance into the Clan- realized that she would have to separate from her best friend. It was an emotional parting, but thankfully when Magnolia left, Vividgaze had a gut feeling that she would see the albino again. However, she hadn't expected it to be so soon.
It was a few days after her arrival and Vividgaze had gotten cramped staying in the camp. She was used to being on the move with Magnolia, and the other cats in the camp didn't really know how to care for her so they usually told her to stay in the nursery where it was safe. She just needed a walk.
And walk she did. She strolled out of the camp and to a nearby stream, where out of the bushes peeked-
"Magnolia!" Vividgaze gasped, darting over to her best friend in excitement, ignoring the strain it put on her belly. She was beyond happy to see the white cat again, and began frantically relaying all of the details of the past couple of days to her. However, she cut herself off when a sharp pang shot through her body.
"S-something's wrong," she gasped, and sank onto her side, gazing up at Magnolia helplessly. Her friend's fur was bushed out, but she did her best to look calm, nudging Vividgaze to her feet and supporting her the whole way back to camp. The black she-cat collapsed in the nursery, hoping Magnolia wouldn't leave. She knew what was happening.
She vaguely heard her best friend call out for various herbs and a stick. Through her squinted eyes she caught sight of Riverstar and Coalpaw's pelts before Magnolia shooed them out. The rest of it went pretty hazily, and soon enough six kits were spread in front of her.
Six! No wonder I felt so heavy... Five of them began mewling and squirming right away, but the sixth one, a white she-cat, laid still. Panic rose in Vividgaze's throat. Everything had gone so well, so why...?
"Magnolia..." she choked out, but her friend was already staring down at the white kit. Carefully, Magnolia pawed her closer, then looked Vividgaze directly in the eyes- something she rarely did.
"I promise you, she's going to be okay." Something about Magnolia's tone reassured Vividgaze, so she let her friend place a paw on the kit's chest and start mumbling nonsense that made no sense to her. She wasn't totally sure, but if she peered closely it looked like the crystal hanging from Magnolia's neck had begun to glow.
To Vividgaze's shock and relief, the kit began to writhe and squeak, looking for food. Magnolia placed the unnamed kit back at her mother's side, and she started to feed as if nothing had gone wrong at all. Exhausted and grateful, Vividgaze frantically thanked her friend over and over, and she just stared down at the family with a content expression.
Half a moon later Vividgaze was sat outside the nursery watching her children play. She felt her pelt grow warm with affection as she gazed at them. Pinekit was mischevious, always trying to drag his siblings into trouble. Hopkit was energetic and spunky where Leafkit and Rainkit were more quiet and thoughtful. Sharpkit was curious, and it was usual for him to disappear somewhere in camp and reappear a little while later. Softkit- the albino she-kit- had taken a special liking to Magnolia, not only for saving her life but because she had so much knowledge to share.
But Vividgaze knew that the Clan was still not Magnolia's home like it was hers. And when she saw the white she-cat gesturing to her from across camp with a somber expression, she knew what was coming. She bounded over and Magnolia explained for the second time why she had to leave, and though sad, Vividgaze dipped her head in acceptance.
"You know I wish you would stay, but... more than that, I want you to be happy. And if your happiness isn't here, then I want you to go out and find it," She murmured, touching her nose briefly to her friend's. "But you're not allowed to forget me!" She added with a knowing look.
Suddenly a small body appeared next to them.
"You're leaving?" Softkit mewed quietly, eyes wide. Magnolia visibly stiffened, and laid down to the kit's level. Vividgaze's heart broke even more when she saw how attached her friend was to Softkit, and how hard it must be to have to leave her. After a few soft words, Magnolia tilted her head to let her necklace slip around the kit's neck. Softkit promised not to lose it, and Magnolia stood again to give Vividgaze and her family a final farewell.
The kits, who didn't understand why the parting was so sad, bounced up and down and called out cheery goodbyes, echoing the rest of the Clan. Vividgaze just looked on with an aching but warm heart. This wouldn't be the last she and Magnolia saw of each other, she was sure of it.

Snow has begun to melt into pools of water. This is causing mud and slippery conditions throughout the clan territories. However the warmer weather is bringing out an abundance of prey and the herbs are growing back in abundance. Kittings are also going to be running much smoother as the days go on. The abundance of prey is bringing out the predators as well so your cats should still be cautious.

As you all have may noticed CaC has its very own lineart! The lines were created by the very talented Grey_Hoodie and are being colored in by various other mods, mini mods and the CaC artists. Allowing us to use the lineart for your cats lets us give more unique patterns as we are limited to free to use pictures. If you want your cats to be transferred onto the lineart all you have to do is get in contact with a mod and the team will take care of it.

I have also noticed that a lot of you have not been adding pebbles correctly. Remember, every post you make you get four pebbles automatically. Patrols will sometimes bring back extra pebbles they find as well! Pebbles can be used here at the cac store anytime!
