"I have a cute puppy face." Hastar leaned in close, dipping his head to murmur in Lyric's ear quite triumphantly as he ambled along next to her, adjusting his step to demonstrate a meekness and nervousness his voice most certainly did not contain. "I also have a point." He repeated, mimicking both Cylex's voice and words. The savage dao dropped back a little from her after that, keeping his head bowed and strange eyes focused on Scoin's dangling form. His words had been for her alone, his attention focused singularly on Scoin. The large grey canine was obviously up to something and it involved the sandy dao. Lyric was an unexpected addition, the presence of this large group even more so. Though there was tension in this group. They did not work as one unit, the angry medic and his gentle assistant clearly from a different faction. Hastar could use that to his advantage, this split. And he intended to.
Bella looked Dark Blaze directly in the eyes, all mischief and teasing. "I certainly miss my friend Karii, and I'm sure Sheik is wondering what happened." She spoke the two names in a way that was clear that they were intended to be swapped, implying that Blaze was eager to get back to Sheik. While Blaze was likely referring to how Sheik had been the one involved with sending off the patrol Bella clearly thought that he'd just had Sheik on his mind.
"I'll keep an eye on the sandy one." Bella announced, not remembering what 'the sandy one's' name was.The pup bounded along ahead to walk by Pyre and the thoroughly embarrassed Scoin, who was less than fond about being carried like a pup. Especially with how Pyre's large size highlighted his shortness, something the dao obsessed over more than his actual wound. Bella didn't greet Pyre as she came up alongside him with any words, just walking by him. Well, it was more of a trot given how much longer the canine's legs were than hers. She wouldn't normally leave Roman but she highly doubted that Pyre would move fast while carrying an injured dao, especially as jostling Scoin would do more harm than good. "Karii's right, you are a mountain." She declared.
Roman bristled as Pyre took over carrying Scoin, the medic would have much rather the injured dao stay by his side. But Bella moved up to walk by the two of them, and while this also made him uneasy, he didn't make a comment on it. Instead he allowed himself to turn and look at Dark Blaze as the canine came to travel alongside him, blinking once at the question. "Wouldn't you rather Tyr do that?" He asked, bitter sarcasm adding a bite to his words that did not entirely cover the hurt behind the statement. Roman's gaze briefly dipped to something far away, mind being flung back to an event in his past that had a shudder ripple along his spine.
He shook himself with vigor, fluffing out his fur and pretending to shake off any lingering drops of water from when Hastar had flung himself over. He wasn't sure if Blaze had caught his lapse, wasn't sure he wanted to know. Hopefully the shake had hidden his jolt of despair but he wasn't sure he had caught himself quick enough.
He would not apologize outright for the snap but did soften the cut to his words when he continued. "How much experience are you looking for? What would you like to get out of this?" He blinked again, but with none of the affront conveyed in the prior one. He wondered if this pack even had any medics, or if any of them knew anything more than what Cylex had demonstrated with his special herb. Roman was yet suspicious of that herb, wanting to get a closer understanding of it before he applied it to any of his own bandmates. It was a curious thing, one that he planned on looking into. But that was something for later. If Blaze was interested in learning from him he had no issue with teaching the warrior.
