Ochre Valley Equestrian is a boarding facility stationed approximately an hour south of the
Victoria/New South Wales border, nestled in the base of the Great Dividing Range. At this
barn, all disciplines and styles of riding are welcome but due to the way we are set up, it
should be noted that we are more able to cater to english disciplines. But as we occupy a
total of 2000 acres and run cattle, we are more than capable of allowing access to a hand-
ful of other arenas that need to be cleaned up. Let us know before you arrive on our open-
ing date, 1st November 2019, so we can have everything ready. As you should know, we ha-
ve not allowed boarders in the past but since taking over from my parents, we have made
the decision to share this beautiful property. Come board your horses here alongside our o-
wn, with over three generations worth of horse knowledge and a small team of handpicked
stable-hands, you can count on all animals being safe and sound at Ochre Valley Equestrian.
It should also be noted that we have a no tolerance to abusive or neglectful behaviour tow-
ards both horse and human alike, and those who break this policy will be asked to leave the
property immediately. If the welfare of animals is of a concern, we will not hesitate to con-
tact the proper authorities. We are strict on our rules regarding unsafe animals, and those
with such will also be asked to leave for the greater good of other boarders at Ochre Valley.
This is not to say that you can't bring your green, spooky horses or those with the tendency
to have the odd tantrum, but horses who are liable to charge, kick, or maliciously biwt hand-
lers will not be permitted to keep both ourselves, our staff and our boarders safe. Safety is
our number one priority. On top of our dangerous horse policy, we ask that all stallions that
are boarded here be of a balanced temperament and have the manners expected of both m-
ares and geldings alike. We will happily allow them at our facility, but will be held to the s-
ame standards as any other horse and will not be given special treatment due to the fact t-
hat they are stallions. That mind set is what creates dangerous horses, and a good stallion
should behave just like any other horse. We have our own, and they are all well mannered
and respectful, we just ask that this is the same. Regarding foals, we welcome your mares
and their babies and even have designed paddocks with chicken wire on the bottom rails to
ensure that there are no miniature Houdini's. We are set up to handle pregnant mares and
welcome them with open arms. So if you are willing to agree to these terms and conditions,
we can't wait to see you here at our very heart and home, Ochre Valley Equestrian Centre.

Upon leaving the small town of Ochre Creek, you find yourself heading deep into the footh-
ills of the Great Dividing Range, the snowgums grow tall and the grass is tall in patches off
both green and dry. You drive for half an hour before noticing the grand sing in the distance,
it reads: "Ochre Valley Equestrian Centre" in freshly painted white letters against a deep red
background.
There are two separate barns, both were built on the original property but have been modi-
fied to handle boarders and their horses. Both barns posses a grand entry, a polished wood
and exterior greets the boarders and whilst the internal layout is the same, the large barn,
or Barn One can house up to twenty horses and has an attached indoor arena. In this barn,
there are also separate feed and tack
rooms directly across the hall from each other as you walk into the building. In Barn Two,
the smaller of the two, the feed room is located at the north end whilst the tack room is
located at the south end. The basic set up for both are the same as those is Barn one but
are set on a lower scale as the second barn it self houses just ten horses. Owners can req-
uest for horses to be kept in a group pasture 24/7 or to have access to turn out on a set sc-
hedule. It is important that all horses get turn out, so it can be requested that animals get
turned out only at night to avoid sun fading if that is something you are worried about. In
each paddock and turn out, all horses have access to a shelter, a hay bale feeder and a wat-
er trough. We personally prefer group turnout, and that can also be arranged! Stallions will
be kept separate to mares but can be turned out with geldings if you are comfortable with
that. We also offer onsite living for those who have either come from far away, we have con-
verted the stationhand quarters to two bedroom, one bathroom apartments with small fenc-
ed off backyards so dogs and cats, as well as small pets are allowed. We just ask that all
animals be kept on a leash unless inside their yard or being completely supervised. All dogs
will need to complete a temperament test to ensure they are safe to be kept around the
horses. There is also a communal kitchen and lounge room in the second story of barn one,
all boarders are welcome to use this area for no added cost, keep your lunch and snacks up
there or just have a break on a hot day. There is a strict no pets inside policy in the second
story of the barn, so any dogs will be required to be tied up outside or left back at the acc-
ommodation if you are an onsite resident.

Georgia B Moore. "George" & "Bea" . 23 bi female . single . tags open . washbays w/ Finch
The warm late spring sun heated the concrete in the wash bays as Georgia began to untack the palomino filly, they had has a short work out and a gently trail ride but still the unfit three year old had worked up quite the sweat. It was important not to over work her, many so called horse-people has a habit of riding young animals into the ground. This wasn't something the Moore family believed in, the longevity of an animal was far more important than early performance. There will always be more chances to compete but once a horse is wrecked, there is no going back. So today had been one of the three days a week the young mare was ridden; she was lunged or worked with on the ground every other days of the week to keep her mind working. With her views in mind, it was also important to her that Finch was washed down after such a morning and this was easiest to do whilst the property was quiet, today was the day the new boarders arrived. Sure it was her idea, but would she miss the quiet or would it be nice to have other people to talk to? Sometimes it got frustrating be just her and her brother, considering their father was elsewhere mentally most of the time.
"Just stand up, pet." she stated in a gently forceful manner, giving a slight tug on one of the cross ties with her free to ask her to stop moving. With the stock saddle resting on her left arm and the saddle pad grasped tightly in her right, Georgia headed into the tack room. The pad could do with a wash out but frankly, she really couldn't be bothered to do that right at this moment. Once her gear was sat on their racks, she headed back out to the young Stock Horse, ready to hose down the sweaty, dirt covered mess that she was.
Ronan A Moore. "Ro" . 26 hetero male . single . tags open . sitting in office (main house)
Ronan groaned, rubbing his hands up and down his face after having pulled out the final piece of paperwork. All the pets that were coming with the boarders had been temperament tested and approved to be on property, but there was still a large amount of legalities that went into the decision to allow such a privilege. It was a risk for them and their breeding program, for their stock, but his little sister had insisted on allowing such a thing. Sure, it seemed like a pleasant idea to her considering she didn't have to deal with the stacks of documents needed to protect themselves from liability. He felt put out in his own home but he wasn't about to leave something half done, that wasn't him. At this point his office was a mess, stacks of different documents and bills piled around the redwood desk. Honestly, it wasn't the paperwork it self that bothered him, it was the repetitive and painful nature of the legal process involved, the codes and regulations that had the be followed to function as a boarding facility and the kicker of it all, vet bills. But after all, unworthy colts needed gelding, horses needed vaccinations and the majority of cows and heifer needed preg. testing. Ah yes, the joys of running the property. The joys of being the older sibling.

Noah Fionn mac Cumhaill | 25 Bisexual Male | Single
Current Location: Driving into Ochre Valley Equestrian Centre

Noah was tired, he had been on the road for quite a while, and he was now coming down from a town up north to Ochre Valley. The place seemed real quiet, very clean and natural. His black truck was hauling a small two horse trailer behind it, and within you can see the equines just going along for the ride.
The red-haired man sighed, and pet his cabin partner, Bear. The black and white dog was intent on watching the road in front of them, but gave a hefty wag of his tail when his fur was rustled. With his eyes forward again, the GPS told him he was close, and Noah started looking for signs that would tell him where the driveway started. Almost half a mile further and he was finally pulling in to their driveway, Bear was super excited to finally be somewhere, and so was Noah.

A small statured woman hopped out of a decently sized truck with a snorkel above the cab. In the passenger seat was a rabbit transporter, a small, soft bag made of mesh and a solid frame. She walked around the side to check on Rajah, her gelding. Opening the door to the sleeper side Fawn was able to console the vocal horse before he made too much of a ruckus.
"Hey Rajah, it's ok bud. I just need to check in and I'll be right out." Fawn left the truck running for the little Janice, and stepped lightly up to the main house, placing a solid three knocks on the wood there. She was a bit confused as to if she needed to go in automatically or not, so she hoped someone would be able to hear her.

jodi rhodes-16-straight-female-"rolo"'s owner-tags:open;
a big truck that had "R&R Showing" printed on it pulled up into Ochre Valley Equestrian. jodi's father had made her move her horse from her old barn - which was prestigious and popular among her equestrian friends. moving was such a pain! the only reason why was because matt rhodes, her dad and a big fan of show jumping, believed her friends were distracting her from quality practices.
matt didn't joke when it came to horses. he and jodi constantly traveled for shows. to jodi's dad, a placing in a show was like a grade. if it wasn't top three, jodi's ride wasn't good enough for him. and though jodi had a passion for riding, it wasn't for all the cross country her father made her do. if anything, she preferred what her friends thought of as more "sophisticated": show jumping. and hunter jumper, possibly. but mostly show jumping. but now here she was! stuck.
stuck with a bunch of people who were so much older than she was.
matt rhodes helped jodi unload carried away, also known as rolo, from the trailer. he made sure that jodi had rolo safely in his stall before driving away on his blue chevy truck, leaving jodi alone to get settled in.

haela | endurance & eventing rider | twenty two | rides silver cigar | location: stables | tags: open
NEHAELA was satisfied with her work. silvy had been a little bit of a hassle when she was being unloaded. it wasn't anything to worry about, horses were creatures that thrived on routine. her mare had worked herself up quite a lot when nehaela was travelling, and upon further inspection haela noticed a shallow cut on one of her forelegs. first thing first though was getting silvy into her stall before nehaela could tend to the injury. to her knowledge, not many other horses or equestrians were about. it made the whole process of calming silvy down that much easier.
SHE'D been able to properly attend to her mares leg and bandage it up correctly without anymore unnecessary fuss. stepping back to admire her handiwork, nehaela cursed as she bumped rather harshly into the door. it was a mix of french and colombian, and antive speaker of both wouldn't have been able to understand her. silvy however, had gone back to sniffing at her food bag. "alright lady i'll get you your food. but if i see that leg bleeding you'll be in for it." haela swiped the green food bag and left silvy's stall. she did the latch up and made her way to the feed room.
SILVY'S food wasn't all that extravagant, she believed in the lesser high end products the better for the horse. but right now wasn't breakfast or dinner, rather a snack from all the travelling. so nehaela went to work on grabbing and stuffing as much hay as she could into the sack. she doused a couple of oats into the mix for fibre and took a second to look around the room. nehaela wasn't going to be settled like silvy for at least two weeks. she was always thinking of where to go next or her family or just a change of scenery. sure orche valley was beautiful, nehaela would just need to let her guard down and get stuck into her training. she chewed at her inner cheek before getting herself up and walking back to silvys stall.

douggie | dressage rider | twenty four | rides godsend, arizona iced | location: washbay | tags: georgia
GODSEND, as always, had made a mess in his side of the duo trailer. he had tried to fix it this time by placing him with his younger half-sister and it did work, but the mess was still far too much for douglass to clean up on his own. he'd have to call someone out in order for it to be spotless again. in the stalls or pasture godsend seemed to avoid mess, but in that trailer it was like it was his own wallowing pit. arizona however, had been easy and quiet. she was now tucked away in her stall with her blanket secured over her. now for godsend, he'd need a trip to the farriers and a decent wash-down.
GODSEND could do with some time off shoes, but for now douglass would just have to keep an eye on his gelding. instead of the farriers, douggie could assist his sweaty and disgusting horse with a wash-down. by the time he got to the wash bays another rider was with their mount. taking one hand to his forehead in order to see, douglass looked around for an open spot. he found one adjacent to this mysterious rider. "hey! don't mind if i'm around?" he kept his voice calm as to not jump godsend. the spring sun in australia either proved to be hot and sharp or hidden behind low clouds. luckily today the sun was warm, few clouds dotted the sky.

Georgia B Moore. "George" & "Bea" . 23 bi female . single . tags Douglass . washbays
It was almost silent in the barn besides the sound of the hose and dripping water, and stalled horses contently eating through their haybags. There had been the sound of a few arrivals since she had began scrubbing the shampoo into the mares coat, it felt weird, the sounds of vehicles arriving on her property. It was rare that they had a visitor, and if it was it was commonly the neighbours letting them know of loose stock or a down fence. And even then, she knew the individual sound of the vehicle. Not with these, there were new. Georgia glanced down the isle from the washbay as she heard footsteps step onto the concrete flooring, it was a young man probably in the same age range as her with his big chestnut gelding. Had be been clipped or was his coat just that pale? Deciding that it wasn't her business, Georgia turned her attention back to the palomino mare with the grossly yellow tail. It was Glo-White time, the miracle product that could stain your horse purple if you weren't too careful. She had just about uncapped the bottle when i male voice piped up from behind her, "Crap..." she exhaled quickly as she jumped ever so slightly, managing to cover hands and jeans in the purple dye. Just my luck she though to herself before turning around to greet him "No, no, you're right." she reassured with a gentle smile, slightly stuck as she tried to asses the situation with the Glo-White and the new arrival she felt she needed to welcome to the property.
Ronan A Moore. "Ro" . 26 hetero male . single . tags annalise . main house veranda
Ronan tapped his pen against the desk as he watched a small handful of vehicles arrive. It was funny to him how people seemed to come in streams, he was in on the highway all the time. There could be no vehicles for ten minutes, and then three or four would pass, he put it down to human nature, to somehow always find a way to travel in packs whether it be on accident or not. He had been lost in his own mind when three decent knocks sounded from the front door, he pushed his chair back with that familiar scrape against the polished wood floor. Considering that the office was in the room directly to the left of the entrance, it did not take him long to reach the old front door, he opened it without hesitation. Perhaps a little too aggressive, he did have a generally hard look to his face that rarely helped his cause. "I'm guessing you're one of our new boarder?" he asked in usual confident tone, waiting for her to take a step back so he could step out of the doorway.
