once, the elders of jasper warned about creatures lurking in the woods surrounding the small town. half-man and half-wolf,
they said, and larger than any dog you have ever seen. they taught that these animalistic creatures wore the skin of sheep
to blend in with the townsfolk. for a time, people truly did believe the tales of werewolves, with many families often passi
ng down their personal accounts of these supernatural creatures to their children. when eager hunters caught wind of the
myths, they turned to the woods, hunting down just about anything that resembled a wild dog, werewolf or not. in the years
following the earlier massacre, the remaining wolves retreated deeper into the woods to lick their wounds and bolster their
numbers again. with the source of the local myths seemingly disappearing overnight, the legends shifted from truths to old,
delusional stories passed around to attract tourists.

in the recent years, the wolves of the lichen creek pack have returned to jasper, believing that the generation-gap in the leg
ends would provide them newfound safety in their old home. things were idyllic for a time, with the wolves able to return to
the lives and homes that their parents and grandparents reminisced of. when members of the pack began to be targeted, pic
ked off one by one, the pack realized that something was amiss once again. after the death of their trusted beta, the pack dis
covered that the fault laid with the alpha himself, who had come out of hiding to make a deal with the hunters-- in exchange
for protection, he gave away the members of the pack. this discovery caused anarchy within the ranks of the pack, with one su
bordinate stepping up to challenge the alpha's position. the fight was brutal and the bloodshed was paramount, inevitability le
aving the former alpha scurrying away with wounds the pack could only assume would later claim his life. only months after t
he revelation and with the pack's numbers dwindled down to a mere six, the new alpha has decided that it is time for the pack
to come out of the shadows and live among the humans to avoid further tragedy at the hands of the coming winter freeze. with
the legends now only that-- legends-- the wolves of lichen creek are confident in their decision to assimilate. only one worry ri
ngs in their minds... will they be found out?

♚ ― levi comes from a long line of civically involved family members. his father served as the town's sheriff for years, and before that his grandfather. the mirsky's have always lived in jasper, and as such are fairly well-known in the community. as such, he spent much of his childhood feeding off of the folklore his grandpa spouted of wild creatures living in the forests that were both man and beast. he claimed he had seen them, hunted them even, in his younger, more spritely years. to young ears the tales made sense, but as levi got older and was struck with tragedy more than once, the magic died out and he chalked the stories up to being the delusions of a sick and dying man. now, he simply laughs when he get calls of suspicious activity in the woods.

levi has never left jasper, though the more he ages the more he wishes he had. sure, the community is great and it's nice to know many friendly faces, but far too much has happened in his hometown. levi grew up in jasper, graduated in jasper, joined the force in jasper, started his family in jasper, and subsequently lost it. his mother died young after being involved in a car wreck. the other driver involved cited the cause to be none other than a wolf turning into a man and was subsequently locked away. this only further cemented levi's frustration and anger towards the myth's surrounding the town. at the young age of 21, levi met the woman he would cite as the love as his life, and the two married quickly after an unexpected pregnancy. when he lost both his soulmate and unborn child in the same way he lost his mother only a year later, he spiraled. he became well aquainted with the local bars and taverns, entertained the company of a variety of women, and immersed himself deep in his work in any other free time he had. spending too much time in his thoughts became too much to bare.
while he still frequently struggles to manage his grief, he has learned to manage it better in the present. he remains deeply ingrossed in his work. he finds it hard to get close to people, feeling as if he is cursed and association will somehow get them hurt. the thought is agonizing, as someone who frequently puts his wellbeing second to others. now, he has made an effort to recreate his reputation as someone who can be trusted. he would not call himself a mean person, but is absolutely not opposed to making his opinions known when challenged, and sometimes has a hard time reigning himself in. still, he enjoys to flirt around when unoccupied, and always loves a battle of the sharpest tongue.

☾ ― isabella is a strange specimen, one wouldn't expect for her to turn out as carefree and laid back as she is when considering her past. particularly, the past that everyone in the lichen creek pack had to suffer through as a whole. before the hunters came, life felt perfect in the pack. in exchange for staying out of sight in her human form, she had free reign to roam the park, something she did often. when the hunters came, things changed quickly. being a 'rebellious teenager' at the time, she wandered out despite the warnings of her parents. panicked, they left to search for her, only for the three to be ambushed and cornered by hunters. bella made it out alive, but at the cost of her parents' lives. after the initial adrenaline allowed her to get away, she limped and dragged her way back to the pack, suffering multiple gunshot wounds to her left leg and hip. miraculously, she survived the wounds, though she was stuck with the limp. when she found out about the alpha's betrayal, she was understandably devastated as it had nearly cost her her own life let alone her family's. she immediately took elijah's side, though there wasn't much she could do at that point as she was still recovering.

despite this, she remains ever fun-loving with an optimistic outlook on life. the transition to living in the human's town was an exciting one for her, as she had secretly wondered what it might be like for years. she had never been opposed to trying anything new, and this was a welcomed new adventure.

☾ ― bella's wolf form is slight, just like her human form. she is lean and small, something that made sprinting and jumping long distances easy for her before her injury. now, she has come to resent her transformed form, as her injured leg is much more of a burden when trying to keep up on 4 paws. her pelt is a dark gray, flecked with lighter whites and browns, while her eyes remain a deep brown.
