Akumu is a powerful girl both in body and spirit. She’s always been perceives by everyone as fearless and feisty, based solely on her background and not her actual personality. Eventually, she started to believe in that. She’s not afraid to speak her mind and stand by her beliefs. If there is a fight, she’s probably the one who started it.

If one day day she woke up and discovered she was immortal, her life wouldn’t so much change, as be enhanced. While she might be brave, she’s not stupid and would back out when a situation would become too dire. Now there would be no such reason. She could glide off a cliff on diy wings, wrestle with alligators, dive to discover all the mysteries of the oceans. She wouldn’t have to be a mere corporal anymore. She could freely speak her mind, gain supporters and climb the ranks of her pride. She’d probably take over the world before weekend.

There he was, standing in front of him, clear as day. With a long, flowing mane, brown fur and piercing blue eyes. Just as mom described him. In Sen’s memories he was only a shape. He could remember his voice, his smile, but no specific features. After all, the lion died when he was only a cub.

With a dry mouth and a voice coarse and quiet, Sen asked:

“Dad?”

The lion nodded.

“You have changed”, he said. His voice was powerful, but calm and kind. “Not only in appearance, but in spirit. Just like the world around you is changing. You cannot stop now. Don’t let the past hold you back. Aim towards a future you want to see and you can achieve it.”

His words were a little confusing, but also gave him a spark of hope. Sen didn’t know what to do. He wanted to respond in a professional fashion, as a captain should, assure him that he will do the best he can. But he also wanted to run and hug the lion and cry and tell him how happy he is to see him again.

Before he could react, the elder stepped up to him, a gentle, caring smile brightened his face, and he pressed his forehead to Sen’s. A feeling of warmth and bliss spread across his body as he returned the affectionate gesture.

“I’m proud of you, my son.”

The image slowly faded and disappeared. Dimmed noises could be heard in the distance. Slowly, Sen opened his eyes. He’d been sleeping. His head was pressed against a rock. It was hot from the fire next to it.

I believe that a game of truth or dare within The Dreamcatchers would be as awkward as it would be intense. The captain of the pride would definitely be first to back out. He would not want to reveal any embarrassing secrets to his subordinates or make himself look overly silly. Revas would probably be the one to initiate the game, but would try to keep it fun and friendly, keeping his questions and requests mild and easy. Akumu, the newcomer, would find out the other two’s weaknesses and used them against them. For Sen, all she’d have to do is offer a bet, even if it was a nasty old bone, Sen would take it. Revas would quit if she asked him some embarrassing stories about their leader - their friendship means too much for him. Aku’s not one to back out, instead she would do her dares with more flare than necessary and give detailed answers.

Kiaholo woke up with a strange taste in his mouth and a blurry vision slowly walked towards him. It was The Ancient Father who came towards him and kneeled before him. "My child Even though your life spand is thousands of years old, today you now have eternity." The vision of his god vanished and her was dumb founded....Forever was his? He shook his main and got up. What to do with this new found life?? This ability to live as long as time would allow? He sat there and though to himself of all the things he could now do that he couldn't fit in a regular life span. He looks down at his two mates who where still asleep and his cubs where also sleeping as well. He smiled warmly and he laid back down and yawned big before closing his eyes once again. If he have an eternity things could wait...He wasn't going anywhere.

"No... Just no..." Kai siad as he shook his mane. "You are not even apart of my pride Dad...." Kai said with protest. After all his dad kicked him out of his pride to start his own becuase he felt like it was becuase he would fail and an heir to his pride. So there was no way he was going to let him crash here. "You need to go back home... to mom and my brother and leave me alone..." Kai said as he sit there and push him into the jungle towards home. So that away Kai could go on with his life and not deal with his dads judgment or looking down on his pride, his gods and his traditions. His pride was the opposite from what his fathers pride is and can't be compared. "Just go home... Wait I didn't even know you died..." Kai was a bit concerned at that point.

Kaiholo laughed as his mate Kawai told him his truth.... Who did he love more her or Hokulani.... This made his rather akward and he didn't know what to say. This was sister rivalry and his didn't want to get in the middle and prove a side. His ears drop as he felt a drop of sweat roll down his brow as he looked around the room and gulped... "Well my dears.... I love you both differently becuase you are two diffrent people lionesses. Its like comparing a coconut to a banana..." He said with a nervous chuckle. Kawai looked a bit annoyed and Hokulani seem intrigued with what she was hearing. "I love you both equal but diffrent so I think thats the end of that..." Kai smiled and felt like he has dodged a bullet and let out a sigh of relief. Kawai was not so satisfied but atless Hokilani was not the one he loved more..

If Sarasa, the pride’s founder, was to wake up completely immortal, chances are he would go completely crazy, doing things that he has always pondered doing, but could never do if he wanted to remain safe.
His first stop would be the local lake. Deep dives, far beyond what his lung capacity would normally allow, scouring the bottom of the lake for interesting things or treasures. Watching the fish, terrorizing the snails and other crustaceans, checking the area for anything that would make for an amazing story.
Next would be exploration of the mountains, higher than anyone had gone before, along ledges that no one would have been able to traverse, into caves that no one had adventured into. Of course, he couldn’t guarantee that he wouldn’t fall off one of these ledges or slip down the side of the mountain and break every single on of his bones on his travels, but he’d have a great story, right!

Ora was not even a week out of her apprenticeship when her mother died, and she took it extremely badly. After a silent, introverted grieving period within her birth pride, she ran from them, setting out on a mission to find her father. When that mission ended in the news of his death months prior, Ora spun into a maddened state, just running for days on end.
When she met the Flame Valley Pride, she was a completely different lioness, hardened, cold and untrusting.

“Ora.”
The voice was familiar, like a memory of a dream. The lion stopped, her breath creating white swirls in the cool air.
“Mother?” Her voice was soft, quaking, unlike anything the pridemates had heard from her before.
“What happened, Ora? What happened to my little girl? You were so caring, so kind... Why so sharp with your friends, why the hatred towards those who care for you?”
“Because you left me!” She snapped, “You abandoned me, left me all alone! If you did, what’s stopping anyone else from doing that as well?!”
She could see the pain in her mother’s eyes, but that didn’t quell her anger.
“I know, honey, I know... I didn’t want to go, you know that. I wanted to be with you, but life is strange. Death has no guilt over who he takes, or who he leaves behind-”
And, with a show of emotion that none in the pride had ever seen, Ora ran forward, tucking her head beneath her mother’s chin. They remained together until the sun rose, when her mother had to leave again.
From that day forward, the others swore that there was something just a little bit different, a little bit more compassionate about Ora, even though she tried to keep up her old tough gal facade.

The half moon lit up the clearing just outside of the dens, illuminating the gathering of lions within. The small pride sat, chatting amongst themselves, when the idea to play the game arose.
“This game is for cubs,” Ora scoffed, beginning to walk back towards her den.
“Mmmhmm, that’s what chickens say,” Djall challenged, raising an eyebrow to the female, who stopped in her tracks, returning to the gathering with a haughty twitch of her nose.
“Alright, I’ll go first.” Sarasa offered, sitting up straight, with smile.
“Yeah, boss!” Djall chimed, the tip of his tail twitching with delight. “Truth or dare?”
“Truth.” Sarasa answered simply, a smirk dancing on his lips. “You all know everything about me, anyway-”
“Who would you take as mate, Aurelia or Ora?” Djall spoke quickly, devilishment dancing behind his eyes. Ora rolled her eyes, but Aurelia merely giggled, looking to a now flustered Sarasa, who shifted uncomfortably beneath the stares of the rest of his pride.
Sarasa muttered something, urging a teasing “Hmm?” from the other male.
“Aurelia!” He snapped, shooting an apologetic look to Ora, who refused to look at him.
“Me next!” Aurelia chimed, hoping to dispel the awkwardness between her two friends.
“Truth or dare?” Djall uttered, the glint still playing in his eyes, earning a “Dare!” from Aurelia.
After a short trip across the lake to the Trial Island, returning triumphant with a flower from the very center, it was Djall’s turn.
“Dare.” He sneered.
“Okay, I dare you to travel to the Sky Plateau. And sit there for five minutes. Alone.” Ora dared, finally getting into the spirit of the game.
Djall barely spent two moments in the forest alone before he came sprinting out, the taunting silence of the forest playing tricks on his mind. The others fell about, peals of laughter splitting the nighttime silence. And finally, it was Ora’s turn.
“Truth.” She replied confidently, almost daring the others to ask her something.
“What are you afraid of?” Aurelia asked quickly, before the boys could ask something dumb and... boyish.
Ora tilted her head to the other female, but then lowered it sheepishly. She sighed deeply, looked to the stars, and then answered.
“I’m afraid of fire.” She answered honestly, but, to her surprise, there were no giggles, no snarky remarks.
“Alright, first round done!” Djall cheered, stretching himself low to the ground. “Who’s first for round two?!”

Tambo was unsure of what he would do if he was granted immortality. While he never thought about what would happen to him after he passed, he never thought about what he would do if he lived forever either. At base value, he would make sure that his pride is forever safe here in the Crags. He wouldn't let the territory be lost a second time to his lineage.

The other way he would use the immortality is to hunt for his pride. He would take on the sole role of hunter and go after the biggest game he could find. Mostly hippos and elephants. Normally this would be a disaster with one lion but if he was immortal, he could safely do it without the fear of having his pride mates harmed. He's not sure how he would get the fresh kill back but at least he would be content with feeding his pride.

Tambo was awoken by a commotion outside. He quickly made his way out to see his great grandfather standing there on the path up to the caverns. Tambo's head was swimming seeing him standing there. He didn't look like a specter nor did he look like someone who has been dead for generations. He slowly approached him, unsure of what to do or how to handle this situation.

A smile spread on his great grandfather's face, "Hello Tambo."

He wasn't prepared to feel as lightheaded as he did and everything went black. He woke up later in the healer's den, confused and trying to figure out what happened. The healer explained that he passed out from the sight and his great grandfather carried him in here.

"So he is real," Tambo said to himself. Once he was cleared to leave he went out to see his great grandfather taking control of the pride in his absence. If he was going to be around, Tambo wanted to get his wisdom from him.

Tambo listened in on the cubs playing Halloween truth or dare as he closed his eyes and tried to doze off. He heard them dare each other to poke spiders, dash outside the cavern, silly stuff like that. Then their voices got quiet and he strained to hear the current dare. They were all muttering and yelping in surprise until he could hear them.

"I triple dog dare you to scare Tambo."

Oh, this was going to be good.

He listened as all of them were muttering about who was going to do it. There was scuffling as one of the cubs boldly made his way over to Tambo. He stayed still to see what they would do to scare him. There was silence before the little cub pounced on him. Tambo didn't move. He could hear the confusion fill the room and the cub hopped back down.

He opened his eyes and slammed his paw down onto the cavern floor. All of the cubs scattered and hide behind a rock, slowly peeking back over. Tambo chuckled and closed his eyes again. Needless to say, none of them won that dare.

If Earwyn suddenly became immortal, he would likely leave the pride. Whether he remained there for the rest of his 'natural' life and faked his death, or simply left, would largely depend on the progress of his apprentices and the like. He may not want to spend eternity with the lions of the Motoheri Pride, but he would not want to leave them in need of a Healer. Regardless, when he left, Earwyn would give with the intent of finding the ocean. He is there in his dreams - drinking in the sounds and smells of the vastness of it all, calling out roc him in a ethereal, sickly-sweet, muted voice. Why not follow? Find out what it was all about? Now he could (he really could!) so why not? When he finally did reach the coast, he would likely live by it for a few years, simply marveling in it all, before moving into the depths themselves. It's not like he would drown, after all, and for so long those deep blue depths called to him in the peak of his slumbers - so why not answer that call? Whatever was waiting for him, it couldn't hurt him anyways.

Udia sat by the altar solemnly, her fire-dusted face truly looking as though it was burning in the fire's light. Her ears pricked at a sound behind her, and she turned her head to see who sought her company on this moonlit night. The Hail Priestess gasped, her eyes widening.

"...Dad?"

Before her stood her father, a lion the same charcoal black as his daughter with an infernal red mane. His eyes - such a molten gold - were as gentle and soft as she remembered. There was a small, sad smile on his maw that made the Hail Priestess's heart ache.

"My little Keva, you've grown so much..." He rumbled, his low voice warm and familiar.

The Priestess could not move.

For so long, so long, her father's daughter has been as dead as he was. But tonight, by whatever strange forces, both were to rise from their graves. She was Keva no longer, yet looking at her late father, Udia softened into a likeness of his late daughter. Scars so expertly cut and burned into the flower of her heart mending and healed in an instant. Tears blossomed in Udia's amber eyes, now rolling freely down her face. A moment later, Udia leapt forward, wrapping her front two paws around her father's maned neck.

"I missed you."

Urricea clambered out of the murky oasis, shivering in the cold. On the shore, warmed by the orange light of a fire, her friends laughed at her misery. They, of course, were not spared from their own miseries and embarrassments; many were (rather poorly) painted as ghoulish creatures by the paws of their peers. Others had poorly made costumes shoved into them, and others still suffered dares similar to Urricea's. One of their more pristine friends had been dared to role in the much by the oasis, and was now covered in greenish-brown mud. The drenched lioness quickly scampered up to the fire, desperate for warmth.

"Enjoy your swim?" One of her friends jeered.

Urricea grinned pointedly at them, then shook the water out of her fur, doing her best to found the icy droplets on the whole of the group. Shrieks of laughter and indignant protests ensued, but Urricea was smiling as she settled down beside them. "Yes," She grinned, "I did."

Most of the pride of Wikimak is of a respectable age and so they don't tend to get too, too excited when it comes to the time of Framunti. Course if they were cubs things would be vastly different. But since they are grown adults they can wait for the time to arrive. Some better than others.

For instance, Degotoga, Kwatoko, Chosovi, Etchemin and Pansola can easily wait for the holiday. It takes time to get things ready for costumes on top of maintaining status quo within the pride itself. Things take time, and their willing to wait and get those things done before having fun.

However, Alosaka and Nokomis are a bit on a different wavelength. They're like big cubs, pretty much. They get excited and can hardly wait for most holidays, especially Framunti. They have a hard enough time sitting still in times like these. It's a wonder they can still maintain a pride... But they do! (159 wc)

The pride's territory tends to drastically change in the fall. The large redwood trees leaves begin to turn all sorts of fiery colors, along with most other trees within the territory itself. The only exception would be the fir and evergreen trees. The leaves stay this way for quite a while but ultimately fall off. As things get a big colder, the leaves remain off the trees but do slowly grow back. Since they are in that one particular area of the world, they do not get snow unless they go up to the mountains, but the brown leaves litter the ground like snow... it's just not white and crunches beneath the paws.

Otherwise, most things tend to stay mostly green and within a few months, it looks like summer all over again. It may not be as pleasing to see snow or anything, but at least the prey within the area stays consistent and doesn't often migrate. (158 wc)

Waminta is the next little holiday they tend to celebrate. It's mostly a Christmasy holiday where they take time to praise Wicasa and thank him for all he has done and continues to do. It would also be a time to give gifts, whether it is a meal, a necklace, or herbs. On the day of Waminta, the lions all tend to go to visit the native peoples and celebrate with them. Not only do they enjoy cooking the meat the lions provide, they tend to give great gifts. Gifts such as headdresses, feathers, bones, and dyes are often given in return for meats of all kinds. The children also enjoy the lions' company, often playing with them and snuggling into their manes or fur around the large fire at night.

It's a season of giving, not getting, as well as thanking the one who has given them all things under his grace and mighty love. (156 wc)

The lions of the Flame Valley Pride do not deal very well with excitement. The only lion within the pride who can deal with her excitement patiently is Aurelia, and even then the cub-like anticipation and the general restless atmosphere can get to her head. There is a lot of negative things that can happen within pride life, so it’s nice to take the positivity and excitement where they can!
Especially when it comes to holidays. Hallowe’en night is a firm favourite of many of the pride’s members, most bringing home special treats for their nighttime ghost stories and pranks, and therefore not much gets done in the days leading up to the holiday. Most are too busy preparing their scary stories, planning pranks, and gathering treats! Sometimes the pranks even leak into the days leading up to the day itself, with playful scares happening on patrols or interruptions to hunting happening for up to a week before the day itself!

Fall within the Flame Valley is extremely pleasant. It’s just cool enough for the mountain tops to freeze, slowing down the rivers and giving the pride the opportunity to swim within the cool waters.
The trees seem to be alight all on their own, with the rich oranges, reds and yellows of the changing leaves brightening up the valley and changing its entire colour scheme. There are the occasional coniferous trees that leave a splash of green, giving the colour an even deeper richness. By this time, the end of the fall, most of the trees have begun to bare, leaves littering the ground in a soft, rich carpet.
Among the carpet of leaves, there are occasional smatterings of wildflowers, the appearance of their colours infrequent but beautiful.
As for weather, most days consist of light rain, the cool showers wetting the ground beneath their feet and providing perfect hunting conditions. On the fine days, there is a crispness to the air, the biting winds warning of the winter to come.

If Hallowe’en is not the favourite holiday of a pride member, then it will be the winter holidays! The lions love to partake in the celebrations, welcoming the warmth that comes with family and friends surrounding them. Some lions even travel back to their birth pride, to visit parents, siblings and old friends. The others remain with their new family, the Flame Valley Pride.
Gift giving is a huge tradition within the Flame Valley Pride, with each lion being given the name of one of their peers to present a gift to during the season. If that particular lion leaves to return home, they get their gift before they depart. If not, they take part in a little, informal ceremony on the Sky Plateau.
The ceremony consists of a feast, with the hunters working extra hard in the days leading up to the ceremony to provide plenty of fish, meat and berries for the rest of the pride. During the feast, the lions exchange their gift, which may have been found, traded for or made by the lions themselves. Overall, the winter holidays are a well loved tradition within the pride!

Oh goodness Cubs

In the pride the cubs are the one that tend to get the most excited and tend to be the ones that climb up the cave walls as they cant wait for any festivity and celebration. It is hard to deal with them and get them to do their lessons or even go to sleep. So often little games and prizes are given out to the cubs as a per-curser to the event. With new things to do it helps keep the young cubs minds off of the things to come and get them to calm down a bit. The pride has found that trying to punish cubs just leads to a tiny rebellion and then it just becomes useless to do anything to fight them. So to please the cubs and keep them busy is the only way to go and we do not talk about the tiny rebellion of the past.

Winter??

Healani is a beautiful beach and though it never gets truly super cold about only the low seventy or so the humidity drops away and the ocean also cools down. The leaves dont really change they do get a little yellow on the tips or the frowns and the winds pick up a bit as well. There isn't really a winter and many other prides that come to these parts will feel like a nice fall or spring to them then a true winter. Many of the pride members have never seen snow before and the flowers still bloom and the caves stay warm relatively with out the use of a fire ability to keep them that way. So cold weather is not really a worry but the cold water is something to be feared after hunting. So over all the weather is nice, the beach is still fun to play on.

Love is in the Air

The winter season lead to the Shell Giving Ceremony for young lover its like a large wedding for those who finally want to combine their lives. This time of year Young males or even females will spend time looking for shells that are perfect to give their loved ones. When the night comes to give the shells all lions gather in the Gathering Circle in order to give shells. Some will accept and some will be rejected but if someone accepts the shell they are then considered life long makes and dance the night away around the fire. Durning the day the cubs are taught about this tradition and partake in giving treats to other cubs as a sign of friendship and appreciation. Its a time where also current made mates take time to spend time with each other, give gifts and bless the new mates formed that night. Kai tend to be very busy on this day.

Completed Prompt: the territory of the Heart-tongues is rounding off the last segment of the rainy season. at this point in time, the lions of the Heart-tongues prepare for the coming of the dry season (otmundo - season of cloudless skies), of hotter days and drier winds. the humidity (sugo - heavy air) will begin to peter out, sucked up by Yihunde, the air deity. the rain deity, Shishios, after many months of watering the savanna and filling the rivers, will lay to rest and slumber until the end of otmundo. the herds would be due to travel past River's Crossing to traverse the Dead Sands in search of richer, greener grass, leaving the Heart-tongues to work harder to seek out meals. prayers are offered to give the pride strength in the hardship to come, and to plea for protection and good health. the migration is a sight to behold, and a common game among the pride is dakyth-man - roughly translating to 'crossing death game'. lions gather at a vantage point overlooking the River Crossing and choose a particular member of the migrating herd, usually wildebeest or zebra, and bet on its chances of surviving the cross. they often choose herd members that are visually distinct from the rest, as scent is difficult to pick up from a distance, and from such a large throng of animals. bets are tracked using river stones, and the lion that makes the most accurate guesses throughout the game wins.
