payton woke up, and that was enough for him to groan in annoyance.
it was only the second day of school, yeah, but he already felt completely drained. he couldn't even come up with a good way to prank the first years, and that was his favorite thing to do at the beginning of the year!!!
he had gotten too used to his old routine, wake up at noon, eat trash, smoke weed, play videogames and sleep again. one couldn't call it magical, but damn did he love it. muggles had it good, not worrying about this stupid school and being good at hocus pocus. all he wanted was to be a normal teenage boy, was that too much to ask?
apparently, it was, since he had to get up, put on his clothes, take them off and put them on again after noticing that he had put them on backward, grabbing whatever he would need the whole day and head over to breakfast. hey, even if hogwarts sucked, at least he could eat whatever the hell he wanted! goodbye eating cereal for every meal!!!
he paid attention to other people's conversation so he could find out what class they had, it was too early to remember. and the answer was charms! eugh, how boring. all it was was swinging a wand around and hope something happened, not really what he looked forward to. lucky sixth years, they got herbology in the first hour, which was easily the best class. didn't they just change teachers? that kinda sucked, all he could do was hope that they were cool.
after breakfast, he ignored his brother, as it was way too early for him to focus on an ass to him, and proceeded to carry out his genius plan of sneaking off into the bathroom and skipping charms. maybe he could sneak off into the woods until lunch, but that meant he could miss herbology... ugh, he'd just lock himself into a stall and get high again. too bad electronics didn't work in this place. stupid wizarding rules, this place would be much better if he could use his gameboy between classes.
the boy confidently made his way to the bathroom, carrying himself as if he had a purpose, that way nobody could stop him since it always seemed like he was up to something important. that always seemed to work with the stupider teachers anyways.

patryk was one of the few frightened at the idea of this. he knew most of his classmates were fond of the hands on kind of classes. but he would much rather be writing essays and reading than doing this. this didn't feel safe, red caps were deadly creatures, for crying out loud! he might almost be an adult, but it didn't mean this was necessary! this would be considered child endangerment if it wasn't for the fact that magic flowed through their veins.

the boy took in a shaky breath as they all formed a line. despite the fact that he knew how to perform these simple spells, he still silently hoped that the teacher didn't pick him. his palms felt sweaty under his gloves, he didn't want to make a fool of himself infront of a new teacher because of something as stupid as being nervous, let's just hope that his wand wasn't stubborn about it like it had in the past.
it seems like no god ever listened to his wishes when the teacher called him to pass first great, just my luck he thought, thankfully that the teacher couldn't see his frown due to his face mask covering his mouth and nose.

patryk stepped forward, his gloved hands shaking as he looked at the currently floating angry little man. this is fine, you'll be fine. it's just a stunning spell, you've done these countless of times! It's just a flick of a wand, you can do this. the boy comforted himself in his own head, taking a deep breath as he regained his thoughts.
with his wand in his hand and his nerves soothed, the ravenclaw braced himself for the moment the professor dropped the violent fiend to the floor. the boy took a quick step back before he straightened his stance. ,"stupify! " he said firmly, being slightly muffled by the mask. a bright flash of light coming from his hazel wand. the red cap was forcibly pushed back and rendered unconscious. thank god the boy thought, completely deflating and losing his fake confidence. he hadn't realized how badly his hands were shaking.
this was just the first class. if it was always going to be like this then oh boy, this was going to be a very long year.

When Rowan was done demonstrating the trimming of his plant, he began to stroll around the greenhouse to overlook the work of his students. He murmured encouragement occasionally.
"Excellent."
"Very nice dodge, Miss Strater."
"A bit more than that, Mr. Brown."

It was a cry from across the room that caught his attention. Rowan's head whipped towards the sounds of a female student wailing as her plant wrapped a venomous vine around her arm. She had been distractedly talking to her friend, leaving the tenacula room to attack. Almost immediately, the girl dropped to the floor, and the room burst into panicked whispers and cries.

"Not to worry," Rowan's hooves clapped on the stone ground as he hurried to the girl and knelt. "I have the antidote to the venom right here." He pulled a small vial from his coat pocket and uncorked it, tipping the potion into the girl's frozen, gaping mouth. She went from rigid to limp almost immediately. Rowan scooped her from the ground and looked around the classroom to ensure that no one else was within the reach of their plants.

"That will conclude the practical portion of our class for today. Please read chapter 20 of your textbooks until I return."

His heart raced; the first class and a student was already poisoned. What would the headmistress say? He hurried with the girl towards the castle, where he would take her to the hospital wing.

"Brilliant Mr. Kowalski, very nice stun."

Aurelio flicked his wand towards the stunned red cap and floated it into the air, returning it to his cage and fetching a fresh one. The boy's nerves hadn't gone unnoticed. Aurelio thought it would be best to let someone else go next. He motioned to a girl behind Patryk to come forward. "Miss Trowel," He said, releasing the red cap, who brandished a small branch. "Let's see a disarming spell."

payton was focused on his route to go off school grounds, when the peculiar sound of hooves against tiles caught his attention. it made him look up from his shoes when he realized he realised it Was one of the new professors, making him quickly get out of the way. at first it was just because he really didn't want to be stopped, but then he realized that holy crap he had a passed out girl in his arms!
his previous precautions were thrown out of the window completely, now replaced with a sick feeling of curiosity. as if the new satyr professor wasn't weird enough of a sight. a student had gotten hurt already!
he tried to remember what class this guy was giving as he discreetly followed the professor. herbology, right! this guy was the replacement of the old teacher! wicked, he thought. if a girl already got hurt, and she was a sixth year, how intense would their class be? the thought put a smile on his face, thinking of all the cool things that would happen, how much he would love it, and how much Pat would hate it. now all he needed to do is to pay attention and find out what happened. and of course, try to remain unseen by the professor.

patryk let our a breath he didn't know he was holding at that. praise, a quick way to get any student giddy, and he was no different. "thank you, professor" he said in his usual polite tone before blending back in with the rest of his classmates, looking worries at the next girl. even if he wasn't involved, he couldn't help but to feel anxious. What if this girl did it all wrong? what if one of the red caps struggled free and hurt someone? what if, what if? the boy asked himself, shaking his head afterwards. he shouldn't worry about this, it wasn't his problem. even if he was a murderer, this man was still a teacher, that meant that he knew what he was doing, so, he trusted him, kind of, only a little bit...
