ragnar is a combination of both his

ragnar loves a good fest and party,
which is quite a regular occurrance
in storm's end. however, ragnar is q
uite the swordsman which you wou
ldn't think he was capable of. rathe
r blunt and can be sarcastic, he doe
n't have a filter and saying what he
really thinks drunk or not. really pr
otective of his family and will do an
ything for them as they are all he's
got. if anyone hurts them, 100% gua

ut you down. loves a good fight.

happy to have yet another son
to carry his name, but ragnar
and Arik weren't favoured like
their older brother, Halvor did.

ever since corren was born, he has been the 'inv
isble one'. the son of the late arryn lord and an
arryn peasant, his existence has almost been co
mpletely erased - for how could an illegitimate e
ver be of worth? therefore, growing up at the ey
rie, corren was pushed into being a squire/mans
ervant for the local lords. there was no way, wh
en the arryn's pride themselves on their intellect,
that they would ever let a tainted child come an
y where close to those who were 'pure'. and so, h
e trained to become the best servant he could po
ssibly be...imagining that if he does this well, ma
ybe someone will finally notice him. that people
would finally see him in a crowded, busy, room.

the young arryn has been aware of who his father
was from a tender age and each day it pained co
rren to see the lord give his other children love a
nd attention - which he would never get. all corr
en could do was keep his mouth shut, attend to
any and every need of those around him and try
not bring too much attention to himself. the late
arryn's lord dabbling was no secret and with cor
ren shoved into the shadows, few people remem
bered the scandal. it had become invisible.

being a squire/manservant, corren was required
to stay at the eyrie and therefore never met his
mother. he would often dream of leaving the for
tress in the hopes of finding her, in the hopes of
finding someone who would potentially look upo
n him with love and not disgust, hatred and dism
issal. but the nobles forbade it. his identity was

consequently, corren bent to will of the
nobles and his father and essentially lived
like a lonely spirit. the arryn has become v
ery competent in his role as squire, showin
g a great talent with horses and also looking
after the young. the nobles thought it wou
ld be amusing - the most degrading of tasks
to get corren to look after small children. i
t is a woman's task, no? but despite this pe
rception and the teasing and the laughter
that people give him for it, it is one of his
favourite roles as a manservant. many of t
he children are of noble blood, left for him
to care because of 'noble business'. corren
senses their yearning, their want for pare
nt's and makes his time with them count.
he cannot bear to see them upset, lonely,
and prides himself on every smile and lau
gh that he manages to create.

in terms of personality, corren is excepti
onally shy. having been mocked, laughed
at, or ignored his entire life, the arryn is
slow to trust - wondering if the person sp
eaking to him is at any moment going to
pull some grand trick. therefore, corren
may appear standoffish but this is only be
cause he is so used to being 'invisible'. at
heart, the arryn is a genuine, kind soul w
ho does his best not to judge people or th
eir actions. if the time calls for it, corren
will be honest, perhaps brutally so, but n
one of his words are crafted to inflict pain.
if he were to forge a friendship, meet som
eone to who he got along well, they would
have a trusty companion for life; fiercely l
oyal and protective - as a squire should be.
however, corren is remarkably sensitive - a
lthough he is not that easy to read, the arr
yn cannot help but take hostile words to he
art. never having experienced friendship, r
espect or love, his heart would be easily sh

valkryie - in his eyes, valkryie is undeniably talented. having crossed paths when
she came to perform at the arryn court, the greyjoy, ironically, is a source of joy
for the arryn. he desperately wants to speak to her more, to find out the women
behind the stunning voice but since she is betrothed to bruinn, the last thing he
wants to do is to be around anyone that would put corren in the lannister's path.
however, seeing valkryie's persistence and effort to speak to him, he would by no
means by dismissive and always try to friendly and responsive when around her.
the arryn feels that if his confidence ever did grow, he would openly speak to
the greyjoy with little to no fear - especially of the lannister lord.
aphrodisia - oftentimes, corren has a strong disliking for the nobility. so, theoret
ically the arryn squire should despise the princess and everything she stands for.
however, upon meeting her, such a thing became an impossibility. aphrodisia wa
s so much more down to earth than he could have ever previously imagined and
stunned by her ability to have dealt with everything that life had thrown in her
direction, corren has the upmost respect for her. yet, since their differences in
rank are so major, the arryn (although desperately wanting to talk to her) keeps
his distance somewhat. he knows it wouldn't be completely appropriate for a sq
uire to talk so openly to a princess and knowing that ingvar doesn't completely t
rust him, the last thing corren wants to do is give him a reason that would valid
ate his suspicions about him.
camylle -
melleah - although it is difficult for the squire to admit due to his shy nature, c
orren absolutely adores the lannister. seeing how she is trying her best to give h
er house a good name (and not using others in the process to go about this) the
squire honestly wishes melleah the best. her hard work in restoring her house's
name is very admirable to the arryn. one thing he cannot understand however,
is her fear of horses. becoming a master of the horse through being a squire, t
his is something that corren hopes he he can her conquer. however, similar to
the situation with valkyrie, he is constantly aware that bruinn is going to force
them apart. therefore, he is always a little on edge when around her but tries
his upmost best to be as friendly, loyal and supportive as possible.
elysiana - in every way, elysiana is the opposite to corren. the way that she spea
ks her mind, the way she doesn't take any kind of nonsense, is inspiring to the
squire. used to an environment of people bowing and scraping the stark is a b
reath of fresh air. with the stark being so outspoken however, corren is shyer
than usual when around her - out of fear of what she must think of the fact
that he cannot stand, or speak up for himself. but being incredibly attentive,
corren would pick up on the fact that she pushes away her true feelings. be
lieving that it would be a massive shame for to continue this way, the squir
e looks out for her, to the best of his ability.

ingvar - intimidating, powerful, cold, ingvar is everything that reminds him of the
nobles he had been forced to serve at the eyrie. therefore, he is a little hesitant
around the stark, fearing how he may perceive him when he is shy and without a
voice. but the squire sees no reason to take a disliking to him and honestly admir
es his proficiency in arms. if corren were more confident, he would be likely to a
sk the stark on how to become even a fraction as good as him. but for now, the sq
uire will remain as he always has been reserved - suppressing everything he feels.

bruinn - the lannister's arrogance is insufferable to the squire. this, alongside the
the fact that bruinn has practically thrown away his birthright, is nothing short of
perplexing and frustrating. the squire can only dream of having that liberty to be
so careful with something that was rightfully his and so corren thinks that the lan
nister is massively distasteful and foolish. to make matters worse, whenever corr
en comes into his presence he is met with relentless teasing and jokes. it is bitte
rly annoying to the squire but used to such treatment the arryn responds with a t
ight lipped smile - that is all the respect the lord will ever be getting.

naenla -
syrena - on one of the few times corren was allowed to leave the eyrie on an errand
for a noble, his paths crossed with syrena. he couldn't explain it, but the instant his e
yes locked with hers, an indecipherable emotion took a hold of him. her beauty, was
unmistakable but this was not all that drew him to the tyrell. it was also her perseve
rance to stand strong in the face of adversity. to stand strong, unrelenting, before th
e eyes of her father who of her, he thought very little. in short, syrena was inspiratio
nal to the young squire. never could he had believed that anyone could act such a wa
y, with such strength, when one's own blood rejects you. but syrena was proof that o
ne could and in the little time that he got to speak with her, her intelligence and char
isma was nothing short of blinding. the arryn boy stayed quiet about these growing fe
elings however, believing that he would never see her again...due to his position and
circumstances. and how could anyone return such feelings to someone so lowly? this
was all nothing but a sad fantasy, a reality that corren could never have. and yet, ev
en in the brief time he did get to speak with her, the squire knew that it would take
a while to forget her...although, even in these brief moments, corren could sense he
r hunger, her craving for power. seeing so many nobles fall into the game, some suc
cumbing to it, even from the start, corren began to worry for her. he saw so much p
otenital in the tyrell, so much good she could give the land, and yet this desire to m
ake a name for herself made the squire incredibly uneasy. being the recipient of wh
at the game can do to a person, corren wants syrena never to have to experience tha
t. but, being only a mere squire, an illegitimate, what could he possibly do that wou
ld wane her from such a path? corren's last words to her consequently were; 'may the
gods watch over you' and mentally, 'to keep you from a similar fate as mine'.
