Her father was born and raised in Spain while her mother was born in Canada
but moved to America when she was sixteen. Leya's father was not born into
a rich family but instead a very large, poor family. He built his business from
the ground up, working since he was just fourteen years old to save up money
in order to go to university and make something of himself. He built an insurance
company from the ground up until he was one of the top companies in Spain.
However, her mother met him way before his business took off, in fact he was
actually visiting America on business when he met and fell in love with her. They were
married two years later and had her older brother Lucas. After that, Leya was born.

Her childhood was never very stable. The were always on the move, from birth
until she was about eight she lived in Spain, then they moved to France until she
was about ten, then off to Canada until she was eleven, next came England until
she was fifteen, and then in America until she was seventeen and they finally
moved back to Spain. She watched many friends come and go as she moved not
only from country to country but from home to home all around those countries.
This instability lead her to often act out and be rebellious, often getting herself
into trouble. This rebellion was also out of wanting attention, in such a large
family she was often forgotten. Lucas was learning about the business, Manuel
had his musical talents, Camilla was very close with their mother, Alex was the
intelligent child with many great academic achievements, and Mia was the little
baby cherished by everyone. Leya had nothing special going for her so she acted
out in order to get her parents attention. This of course caught their attention,
leading her to the current position she is in.

Observant, confident and mysterious, Jackie keeps a mental distance from most people. Not necessarily unfriendly, although she couldn't care less what is said about her.
