After some serious consideration, Anton decided to head into town. It was a pretty long walk, especially for someone with a limp, but Anton enjoyed the morning breeze and the birdsong. When experiencing this tranquility, one might forget a murder had taken place. Again, Anton didn't care who was murdered- a vampire, he figured- but he did care about the safety of his pack. If this caused the peace treaty to break, he wanted to find who was responsible.
Leaning on his cane, Anton opened the door to the local diner and let out a sharp breath. This was his favorite place for breakfast, with fresh food and decent coffee. He raised a hand in greeting to the waitress and turned to head towards his usual booth.
Stopping for a moment, he scented the werewolf sitting by himself in one of the booths. Anton knew every face in the pack and he knew instantly that he wasn't one of them. Clenching his jaw, Anton strolled over and sat down in the seat across from him.
"New in town?" He purred, setting his cane down against the wall and crossing his arms on the table. He narrowed his gray eyes slightly, looking over the loner with a hint of suspicion, but then flashed a smile. "You picked a nice spot for breakfast, I can tell the girls already like you." He glanced over at the waitresses who were looking in their direction and smiled at them before looking back at Sirius.
"What made you stop in Woodridge?" it was then he showed his true emotion, his smile fading and his voice sharp. He knew he didn't really hold a position of authority and he wasn't supposed to be interrogating the strays, but he wanted to be sure he wasn't going to cause trouble. Before being able to add in other line, one of the waitresses approached and stopped at the booth.
"Usual, Anton?"
Anton shuffled uncomfortable, not intending for the loner to know his name. He looked up at her with a smile, however, and replied curtly "You know it." before returning his gaze to the werewolf in front of him.
